Victory! Better result than performance, methinks.

Dover were shite, our goal was only effort on target i think
Barnet were better than Havant & not as good as Wrexham.

No sign of Macclesfield or Tranmere in last seasons 8 game table...

Three wins on the spin for us and we might have found a partnership up front in Barham and Harrison.

Still early days of course but the hysterical overreaction to our dreadful start should be calming down a little now.

Tranmere were 18th. Same points and goal difference as Chesterfield have now.

Macclesfield were 14th, same points as Barnet. #StillOut.

We've all been there mate. It gets better, it will turn around. Probably, I would have said the same about York and Stockport...

Ditch Allen though. Don't think he's much to blame, just a standard welcome to non-league, but fuck me Allenball is the last thing I'd want to watch when on a five game losing streak. I actually hate rash sackings of managers, but Jesus, you've got Sam Muggleton and Michael Nelson. Allen thought these would be appropriate signings having vast experience of working with both... His style won't be changing.

My pre-match feelings couldn't have been more correct. A draw would have been a fair result, as well as the missed penalty we hit the post twice and bar. One of those days. The size comparison between ourselves and Solihull was huge, although we didn't get set-peiced to death like I was expecting. We need to tighten up at the back as we're giving away a lot of scrappy goals, hopefully that'll improve when Wilson returns from injury and goes back in alongside Granite.

Solihull are the biggest side I’ve ever seen and not in the mould of Buxton/McNulty. They make Anthony Joshua look bulimic

Our manager said last week that they are basically a rugby team.

Borehamwood this season were the biggest load of brutes I've ever seen.

WE GOT A POINT!

THAT MAKES 2 POINTS!

We were fortunate if I'm being honest. Salford with 11 men would have beaten us. We were being plucky and defending our own box well but it was a matter of time. Then Danny Lloyd tried to dive in our box whilst on a booking and got sent off, which was funny.

2nd half, we sensibly didn't go all guns blazing because they were quite clearly superior to us, even with 10. We were patient and didn't create much bar a few half chances. Most importantly though, a clean sheet, a point and a bit of confidence going into Braintree at home. Both sides will be viewing that as a must win to get up and running.

Sutton v Halifax was as poor a game as you could wish to see. Neither team had an answer to a solid defence.

Wouldn't have minded him at Pools.
Was excellent for Guisley up here
He’s actually playing a different role to his usual striker role. He’s playing as a number 10 and is playing excellently. Looks a real coup for us.

Don't know were that attitude has come from regarding the vast majority of our support.

A lot of fans realise that its going to be a long hard slog to get back up especially while Allen (Dave) and his Puppet (Ca$hley 'Wrong-Kit' Carson) are still running the club.

A lot of fans are expecting town to be down here for a number of years especially if those above having anything to do with the running of the club.

There 's a thread on the town forum about showing respect and not giving it the 'Billy Big Bollocks' but it only takes one fan to spoil it for the majority of town fans.

Theres also been lots of advice given from 'Pools, Tranmere, Wrexham fans along with other ex-league clubs about how hard this league is.

Regarding the 4 defeats;
No pace at the back, a couple of injuries, but that aside the football as been dire, Hoof ball, especially since the defeat up at Barrow.
No plan B, well that's when Plan A is to only 'Hoof it' or 'throw it' into the penalty area.

It doesn't take long for sides to work you out in any league.

The only decent performance so far was at home to Aldershot, all the others have been nothing special/dire.
Probably from nowhere. The tinpotters make it up to suit their 'BELT' agenda.

Hopefully your board can get its house in order soon. Its taken us a full 12 months to adapt to this league, like wise Tranmere. Only 4 clubs have ever bounced back 1st time - Only one of those clubs actually won the league itself and that was Gary Johnsons Cheltenham in 2015.

As for tomorrow, we'll be unchanged with our new loan signing from Palace likely to be on the bench.

We've played quite well so far this season IMO, having said that we don't keep enough clean sheets. Our defending has been suspectible to at least one major brain fart in every game, but this is the National League afteral.

Chesterfield due a draw though and this will be one of our harder games this season. It will be interesting to see how Robbie Weir plays, because he was truly woeful in the 6 months he played for us. Although part of me felt some sympathy for him being carried off away at Exeter when he broke his ACL and was clearly in alot of agony, as a large number of our fans cheered as he was carried off on a stretcher in a lot of pain. Didn't think he deserved that level of treatment, even if he was awful.
Ahem - Lincoln 1987. First Club to do so, I think?

Well you were the first team to be automatically relegated from the Football League..
Darlington managed to immediately regain their Football League spot by winning the Conference too in 1990.

Nonsense that our fans saying Braintree at home is a big game, beating them won’t see us stay up. Unless we get a immediate cash injection then it will be Conference South by March time. Salford are very tidy but seriously lack the dirty and nasty part to do anything at this level, play offs just about for them.

Even after finishing 5th two seasons running? What's changed with your squad?

Last two seasons we’ve gone for quality over quantity, often meaning we couldn’t fill a bench but the players we had were very good for this level.
However this season’s we’ve got a much bigger squad but very little quality. We lost the spine of our team in the summer and replaced them with some very average players. Maybe it’ll take some time for us to gel but the best we can hope for this season is lower mid table.

A game that was not for the faint hearted today, not too much in it but Chesterfield certainly edged the game in terms of possession and didn't deserve to lose.

Hot conditions meant for a slow game, I only recall us creating three good chances - But we managed to take the one that mattered near the end, a real quality finish on the volley from James Dayton.

The one thing we are very good at right now, we're difficult to play against and beat - Our back five are settled and now seem to understand how to grind results out along with our midfield.

Chesterfield I didn't think were a bad side, hard to play against and have the base of how to play and setup in this league, but they lacked a bit of confidence at times today going forward - Going for the extra pass and general decision making was abit off, which 4 defeats can do to you. Also Ogwu didn't really suit Allens style of play, he didn't seem to hold the ball up or run the channels well. Binnon-Williams was a threat all game with his pace and power, he gave our RB Myles Judd a torrid game.

Our squad are playing into what Edinburgh and his coaches want, lets hope we can keep this up.

C'mon Pools. The Carlisle fans are missing you lot so please do keep this up

I do miss our MASSIVE local derbies with them. L2 is a poorer place without the 90 mile GRUDGE MATCH.

Sounds like we weren't good today but got the points and that's what matters.

We couldn't come back against Fylde this time, but we have it a go.

They'll be up there.
