If Rendell took his chances today, Aldershot would've won 15-2. He's shite now.

He should've been decked by that ref after we scored our first for the way he chased him around the pitch as well.

Yeah, 3 out of the 4 Brothers in the top 7 is good.
Chesterfield are going through the first season the way we did. I'm happy to say that they won't be a threat.

Saw this on our forum about Wrexham's first goal (for the first time in a long time, I wasnt there to comment):

From my vantage point, I was bemused why nobody challenged Stuart Beavon from a Wrexham corner. In fact no Shots player moved. Led by captain Scott Rendell, the Shots players immediately surrounded the referee. I was still no wiser why until listening to Scott after the game. Before the corner kick was taken, there was a bit of pulling and pushing in the area. Apparently the referee, through his mic, asked his assistant not to let Luke Young take the corner until he had had a word with the offenders. Rendell, and everybody else within earshot, overheard the referee’s request. However, Young proceeded to take the kick from which Beavon scored. That is what upset the Shots players and I can now understand why.

I think there was a block by Pearson on whoever was meant to be marking Beavon. That's what they were going mad over.

I really don’t know how to comprehend what’s happening to us but I’ve no doubt the rot will continue until Dave Allen and Carson are gone. Can’t see any way back for us until we have some proper owners in who have the commitment and desire to stablise us and get us back in the FL. I don’t think we will go down but it’s not I conceivable after what we’ve seen the last 3 seasons.

Mad we could be playing Alfreton in a competitive fixture next season. I don’t think I’d have the stomach for that.

Some big games on Tuesday 1st v 4th, 5th v 6th, 2nd v 8th and another battle of the pay cheques. If we can still be in the top 6 at 5pm next Saturday it will be an achievement as one defeat can send you right down when only four points separate 10 teams.

The ref was bizarre. He was giving us nothing until aldershot number 3 play acted and the ref insisted on the physio coming on and the player had to go off. Fondop didn't get any decisions but ref started giving us more of the benefit of the doubt with some 50/50 decisions once the number 3 had pissed him off. Rendell who I have always rated at this level had a shocker. Normally scores against us but missed 2 sitters.

Well you were the first team to be automatically relegated from the Football League..
Darlington managed to immediately regain their Football League spot by winning the Conference too in 1990.
At 5pm on the day we won the Conference in 1998, I confidently predicted we would be the first team to be relegated twice from the Football League. This was based on knowledge of our greatest strength, i.e we are world class at being shit. Since then, our crown has been stolen by The Shitey Barnet. As Masters of Failure, The Mighty Shaymen salute you. :hail:

2 points away from home from being 2-0 down, in the last two away games.
Hmm.
Not sure if this is sheer luck or just persistence and battling to a point. Either way going away from home and conceding 2 each trip is not going to get much done.
Saying that, it’s two unbeaten on the road so something to build on.

Think we’ve got enough in the squad now that we could be and we’re growing into it but I think there is still a bit too much tinkering week to week.
The squad is built around 3-5-2, at yours I thought we were solid and got beat by a fantastic finish from Rowe and against Gateshead, they never looked like scoring. They’re the only times we’ve played that formation.
We’re not getting everything out of the squad just yet but I think we’ll be climbing up the league eventually.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
That was ,by far, Aldershot 's best away performance this season. The fact that we cannot score, and conceded 2 awful goals, illustrates the problems we have. Even Waddock cannot polish turds, but he did sign those players.

You did burst into life second half and looked a bit more like the Aldershot from previous seasons going forward. Certainly should have scored one really.

First half you tried to pass the football, but created nothing I can remember. The most ineffective side I've seen this season for those first 45 minutes and not particularly amazing at the back either.

Still brings a smile to my face that you actually gave us money for him

You need to get rid of MA & his Stone Age football.
Can't see it bringing you any joy.
It's no coincidence that Solihull apart, the top 7 are decent footballing teams

Fucking, we used to send all our kids there to get a few games. It's heartwrenching really what's happened to our club. I wish the whole board would fuck off. Make no bones about it, this looks like a relegation scrap to stay out of the Conference North. I want to say, fuck it all and just walk away from it all, but it's your club isn't it. Poisoned to the core or not.

That could be something for the police to look at.

It is..I’ve got transport for Maidstone boomed already at the end of the month. At least in these dark times we’ve still got days out and a few beers to make it all feel ok for a bit! Hopefully it’s as good as Ebbsfleet and Salford we’re for days out in new territory

My pre-match feelings couldn't have been more correct. A draw would have been a fair result, as well as the missed penalty we hit the post twice and bar. One of those days. The size comparison between ourselves and Solihull was huge, although we didn't get set-peiced to death like I was expecting. We need to tighten up at the back as we're giving away a lot of scrappy goals, hopefully that'll improve when Wilson returns from injury and goes back in alongside Granite.

Enjoyed the game, although very scrappy for the majority. Been to Barrow 4 times now and we've won 3! The Osborne injury is a concern though.

Aldershot moved the ball well to be fair, Rendell missed 2 sitters for them. We weren't great to be honest, glad to see we've been working on set-pieces as I've been a bit worried about them so far, Summerfield's delivery is on point 9/10. Bit of luck for the 1st goal Pearson probably fouled there lad as the ball came in leaving Beavon free to head in with nobody around him. 2nd goal another great ball from Summers bit of a cock up from there lad at the back allowing JMD to nip in at the back post. Was almost like slow-mo going in. Good win but must improve Tuesday to get a win, As for Aldershot I think they are in a false position they will come up the table no problem, but Lelan is it at CB? Looks very dodgy whenever the ball goes near him, definitely the weak link at the back,

You won't go down under Allen, as he's consistently effective at getting teams to perform when the pressure ratchets up. Allen's biggest problem is that he struggles to build squads. He repeatedly favours "experienced" players, who quite often are past it and overpaid. He also tends not to like more technical players. Generally he does much better when there's already a fair bit of quality in the squad, like there was when he took over and got us promoted. Sadly that doesn't look like it was the case for you guys.
