Fairytale story as James Norwood scores on his 100th appearance.

Tranmere are still winning the league.

Tranmere deserved it after they were better second half. We offered nothing second half, despite having the ball in and around their box a lot.

First half I was happy with us going forward and with the ball, but he without it we are crap and there has been no improvement from Steve Davis at all in 15 games in that department and it’s why we keep losing.

You need to be solid as a team, a better side probably escapes tonight’s game with a hard earned draw as apposed to a narrow loss.

David Mooney can fuck off as well, an embarrassing dive yet again.

Davis out. Learnt nothing from his time at Crewe and a complete c*** as a man as well - And I don’t say that often about my clubs managers. It’s never his fault apparently......

That was just embarrassing from what are supposed to be the 2 big hitters in this league- if they really are that bad, this league is wide open this year. :dk:

I must say I've only seen one side who look decent this year, Dagenham.

I think it's going to be one of those seasons where two workmanlike sides will go up. My mate is a Shrewsbury fan and said when they were down here, they were awful but somehow made an immediate return by staying in games and getting late goals. I'm taking inspiration from that. We don't look good but are working hard, attitude is much better. Just need to get at teams a bit more at home.

Same could be said for most sides here, I think everyone is a much of a muchness. Still close enough for us, Tranmere and Orient to get in that top 7 or even win it. Or finish in the bottom half.

I saw Orient against Maidstone(?) on the opening day and they looked poor, but they picked up a bit so I assumed it wasn't the norm but having seen them again last night, they were exactly how I remember them from the first game.

Both teams looked poor, though. Not aided by the conditions but no-one really controlled the game with the ball being given away more often than not.

The standard down here over the past few years has been abysmal.

Wasn't a vintage Tranmere performance but the pitch was hindering the game a lot, ball would race of the surface one minute then stop dead while someone dribbled it the next.

Tollitt seemingly was only ever going to play 45 mins, so no worries there. Norwood chased everything and while his finishing is never brilliant he's still on 40 goals off 100 games for us.

Refreshing that Orient were the first team since Aldershot to attempt to play football and not use gamesmanship - besides the terrible dive.

I'm not in favour of more promotion places in fact in my view it was a mistake to allow 2, which only compounded the original error of 1986. Our clubs are clean different from the Tin Pot shit. :bdick:

Bottom of league two is also awful, bar top 4-5 teams in League two all the way down to bottom 5-6 in this league there is no real difference in quality. League two should be two regional divisions but the first step of Non League.

L2 for me is a lot more clinical than this league. The general standard of football is quite similar but the strikers are much more composed and defences have a bit more nous than in the NL. Some of the mistakes we make in games this season would be punished much more in L2.

Yeah, I think there are more individually good players in League 2 as well. Quite often teams would look average overall but have one player with quality who can win them a game. Only player this season who has looked above average has been Ferrier for Dagenham (maybe the little lad for Macclesfield too) and we still managed to beat Dag

Elliott Durrell. Not a clue why Chester released him. Seriously absolute madness.

What a load of shit, League 2 is streets ahead of this league.
In Non League you'd get maybe 10 - 15 piss easy games a season where the other team might not have even bothered turning up but in League 2 you never get that even against the crap at the bottom, maybe a couple of times a season at most. FGR being the exception as they seem determined to go back to their rightful level as non league bad boys by getting their arses wupped every week.

We were never going to be that great coming off of a terrible run of form, but we still have the majority of the squad that got 95 points last season and are capable of improving. I am not sure you can say the same of most other sides. The standard of the league this season is definitely poorer than in our first two years down here.

I actually enjoyed the game last night as both teams tried to play football despite the conditions. National League football always looks terrible on TV when you are comparing directly with La Liga and the EPL. In the ground it is more enjoyable (sometimes).

I said except the bottom 5-6 teams in this league which confirms your point about the 10-15 easy games in non league. Cheers.

Of course there are going to be 1-2 better players in each team but the actually quality is not much better. Some of the teams I have seen last season and a bit have tried to play a lot more football then some of the shithouse teams that spend forever in League two. The real quality starts from top end of league one.

So you think the teams in 17th/18th etc in this league are on a level with the teams in 6th/7th in League 2?
Behave.
