Yes. But that’s not the point I’m making. There’s no way we are going down as whipping boys like everyone predicted.
You can't talk sense with them AJ, just

Jamey Osborne double and Hawkridge goal. Wasn’t there tonight but pretty pleased with the crowd as well. 1600, id imagine Torquay took about 300.

Weren't you top after 4 or 5 last season too?
I seem to remember after 3 games Halifax and Chesterfield were top 2 and One_Decent_Lester and B2TF we’re both already arranging their open top busses.

Fair play to Dagenham , as we mainly dominated the game, and great defending and at times desperate defending , stopped us from being undefeated , but we need to be more clinical up front, but that will come. thought we were unlucky with the pen as some ref would give it and others wouldn't, but we always lose to Dagenham Heard some news tonight that nearly knock me over , That being our friend Mr David Rock has be promoted to the Football League , god help them

Just got back. Baffled at Hughes for not bringing an extra defender on for the last 10 minutes or so to see it out, especially after they brought it back to 2-1. Ah well, I'm sure we'll learn from it and that Boreham Wood side will take plenty of points off other teams towards the top end of the table so I'm not too concerned.

We were unlucky not to put that game beyond doubt and we displayed some incredibly impressive attacking play now and again so there were plenty of positives to take from that, but I do wish we had a defensive midfielder in there.

The sooner our keeper discovers his hands the better, sounded like a lot of sideways passing and negative guff from our lot again, don't understand the team selection, dropping Toure the goalscorer on Saturday, Kennedy and James keeping their places, what attacking chance have we got with four centre mid's playing and Luke James who just runs around like an Alsatian in a blue shirt , missing the creative spark of Molyneux/Hawkes/Donaldson badly.

Best team won, can't be argued, despite what Hignett is trying to spin.

Embarrassing and inept! Not my words but Johnson's. Safe to say he wasn't impressed!

Simply couldn't cope with Solihull's bombardment, it was men against boys in the first half, we steadied the ship a little after half time but we were still second best all over the pitch.

What you gone down there for you nana?

Work down south a few days a month so thought I’d join the bunch of tits who follow us to such places. Totally not worth it.

This is his team now and his bizarre preoccupation with signing every single centre mid who was available is showing what a waste of budget it was.

The defence is atrocious - Raynes is really clumsy (as I thought he would be, should've let him go to Stockport), Kerr is well just Fraser Kerr and the keeper looks out of his depth. Defence were constantly having a go at him last night, some of it justified, some of it them not taking responsibility for their own mistakes.

No cutting edge up top, James was backpacking in South America and Kabamba was doing a tour of New Zealand - that's how far apart they were playing. And Nicky Featherstone playing in a number 10 role

We do have a lot of injuries and it is actually a good squad but whatever it is they've done in pre season, it ain't working. Was always gonna be a tough game against a Halifax side on a high and always fired up when they play us but fuck me we really need to shape up and fast.

Obvious that Hignett wasn’t the answer, just not a manager is he. No chance he’s there come Christmas.

Well can't see Raj Singh putting up with it much longer. This was supposed to be the year we finally broke the malaise, we still can but the signs are not good.

Hignett is trying to be too clever. He likes fluid shapes with players picking up pockets of space and buzzing around the pitch. Unfortunately it's the National League and the players aren't good enough to do that. So in the final third the play breaks down. Halifax saying we're a good footballing side on their forum, well we do pass it on the floor, but as nobody knows their role well enough it goes straight to the opposition who then counter our laboured defence with ease time and again.

He's probably not the answer. I like him as a bloke and he does want the club to do well but the doubts are there. He's also got a huge task managing our bloated squad and because there's no reserve football, I don't know how the lads not in the side will ever be match fit.

Happy with a point v Stockport in the end, as others have said we looked like a team just put together and they looked like a group that knew each other well - solid and organised. Knocked it around quite nicely at times. Pretty awful in the final third though. However they finally took a chance just after we had put two inches wide, which would have sealed the points in all likelihood.

Ah well, there were a few positives, Graham, Kelly-Evans, Rawlinson all looked decent signings, O’Brien showed he is a level or two above non-league at times, and a gate of nearly 6,000 was fantastic, three or four years back we were getting half that on Saturdays in August, in the FL!

Also excellent support from Stockport, probably the loudest at ML in a few years.

I can't believe nobody's commented yet that our 6 goals have all been scored by different players. It's like, you're afraid to look because you know you won't like what you'll see. It's bad news fellas, we have goals everywhere in this team. Sorry. :bdick:

Would have taken a point before the game. Sounded like a fair result in the end, albeit we had chances to go 2 up early in the second half, which would probably have given us the win.

Absolutely no idea what to expect at Notts County on Saturday evening. We've never won there and will probably start without any strikers so it could be a struggle. That said, County seem to be all over the shop so could be a good time to play them.

Would take another point to continue the unbeaten start.

Possibly the easiest three points Harrogate will pick up all season, a 3-0 win without creating one decent chance from open play. It doesn't take a decent scout to work out we're inept at defending set pieces, so for us to commit needless fouls by diving in within our own half rather than standing up is baffling.

Plus we can't hit a barn door at the other end.

A lot of work to be done, at least Evatt having been a defender at a high level will know what's required.

Not too much to be worried about, just rather annoying. Agreed on the attacking front, some of the best passages of play I have seen for a number of seasons.
Bobby Grant a third of the way to equalling last season's top goalscorer tally! What a turnaround he looks to have been in these opening couple of games.. fat chance he'd have had his name sung last season

Good game last night, loads of action at both ends. Daggers happy to sit back and defend and we got caught out leaving Doe as our last line of defence against players considerably quicker than him.

Effiong still never looks like scoring and Rigg doesn't look like the answer either. Pavey won everything in the air and deserved his goal though. Can't have too many complaints about the result but nor could Dagenham if we'd come away with 3 points, just one of them nights.

Think Hessenthaler got it wrong playing 4 central midfielders and the substitutes were a bit weird too, ending up basically playing 2-4-4 for most of the second half.

Completely unnecessary from Balanta to smash the ball off the advertising board from 3 yards away not far off hitting a young lad, then giving it to the River End when he scored - knob head.

Enjoyed our game at Fylde last night, excellent point and restricted them to 1 shot on target, as expected we will be hard to beat just wonder about our goals scored column. Still pleased with our start yo the campaign. Who us this Danny Rowe everyone raves about, must be the chap in Meppen-Walters pocket last night, has he ever scored against us?

.

He must have slowed up then because his pace used to get him out of trouble. If he's lost it, then his other attributes probably make him a bottom half centre back rather than a top half one.

On the hill out of Crabble I heard somebody say he looks as though he's towing a caravan behind him. He was up against some quick attackers though and was left exposed with full backs bombing forward in a back 4 with no holding midfielder. Hopefully he's just not fully fit because I do like him.

Wouldn't be surprised if we went to a back 3 with de Havilland or Rooney in there because last night just didn't work at the back.

Interesting to see that Steven Rigg has ended up at Dover considering he's spent his whole career in Cumbria and southern Scotland.

Your lad Pavey did same to us. Fuck knows why, it was the West Stand, we stay silent for the whole game. In fact nobody had given him any stick. Football's full of cockwombles.

Agree, Fylde fan, top player, as you say his record against us is not the best but wish we had him in our team. Good luck to your guys for the rest of the season, except at victory park of course.
