I suspect Harrison was badly missed today.

Sounded like we were right in the game for about an hour but then faded towards the end. No disgrace in losing away to a side who will finish right up there.

We’re on the fringes of top 7 and with the players we have missing, I think we should be fairly happy with that.

We were on top for 15, you were on top for 15, we had an even 30, then Barnet looked dead on their feet and we got a comfortable win.

Last time we scored 4 was in 4 nil home win v Torquay last season. We are still strong in defence but have players up front which can score. . This time last season we had a front line of Boden and massanka along with holroyd, who was the only one who could score. This season 5 different forwards are battling it out, with holroyd still here, answer the other 4 of beavon jmd Pyke and fondop are all a massive improvement on last season.

Utter tripe dished out today, two very poor teams in a very poor game , refereed by a very inept twat who was way out of his depth, and he took his lino's with him , how does David Rock ever get given a game to ref in this league, what even worst , he is accessed as well, does make you wonder ,what they look for !!!! he alone seems to set out to kill this game we all love, how one man can be so useless so often , is beyond belief, Today we are resigned to the south next season , its been blast in this league and who knows we may be back one day

A certain Mr J Saunders was in attendance today, God I hope not

He's really not the god some of our fans make him out to be. You would think we had sacked Alex Ferguson the way some have been moaning.

We had won 6 out of 36 league games, yet some thought he was blameless and needed more time.....meanwhile he would of been sacked a lot earlier at any other club.

Hahaha, brilliant. Won’t be long and he will be begging for his old job back. Guess what John you can fuck right off. USA USA USA.

Chesterfield are terrible, Denton is a desperation signing for Allen and it showed today, few words with the away fans at the end. We ground out that result and need one or two better players to see us safe.
I'm not saying we're not terrible, because we are, but it's a bit rich to call that when you were running the ball into the corner 5 minutes to go, drawing 1-1 at home!

He did what he's there to do, win flick on's, and he did it every single time from the sounds of it. He reminds me a bit of a poor mans Steve Fletcher. If we can get Hines and Shaw learning to gamble on those we might be onto something. It's going to be pretty direct route one stuff, but at the moment it's purely about getting results for us. Two draws is definitely not the end of the world after 6 losses on the bounce. We've got to kick on now though.

We know what we are and after Denton manged to injure our centre half out of the game we needed to do that. Running the ball into the comer was no worse than with half an hour to go Allen took off your two best players and was shouting at all them to slow it down, get a neck brace for that football. Congratulations on getting a point against a load of unwanted kids, start of he season out aim was to stay up yours was to go up.

The fuck it was, son. I have always been more concerned about the triple dip relegation than anything else. Point is, you can't call a team when you're wasting time to get a draw at home against a team you say is 'awful'!

Sounds exactly like the Denton we had. Dominates in the air but nobody can seem to read his flick ons so it ends up useless. You’ll just have to find a way to get it down the wings and get crosses in because he’s the best at this level when it comes to scoring from crosses. He’s very useful as you would have seen when defending set pieces. He’s like a magnet and the ball always seems to find his head so he can send a bullet away from the danger area. I think he’ll be useful for you but it screams of desperation from Allen as he was released by us at the end of last season. Would’ve made sense if he got a big target man at the start of the season when more were available.

I wasn’t that happy with the time wasting but like the Daggers fan says, with Pennell off injured, it was sensible if a little unambitious.

Chesterfield were very one dimensional. They actually scored an excellent goal early on but then it was Denton or nothing. He’s hard to defend but then I agree that his flick ons are aimless at times.

Worrying for Chesterfield that he’s been signed. At best, he should be a plan C for the last 10 minutes, not someone who you base your game plan around

I agree with that, but if the man is anything he's an outlet. This season our forwards have been baaad, so the ball went up there and just came straight back. Not helped by an abject midfield. If we can just get the ball to stick up there a bit, then have some runners and people doing things, it'll take the pressure off the back a bit. We've been a club in total freefall for 3 years. Baby steps mate, baby steps.

No need for this altercation, fellas. Let’s just agree that you’re both dogshit relegation fodder who need to be winning games like this because the likes of Solihull & Boreham Wood are too good for you, and move on.

Pyke's goal yesterday was a complete pisstake. He's got 3 goals for us. All backheeled, all at home at the same end.

Ashmore is just too fat to play, he took about a fortnight to get down to try and save most of the goals.

A quarter of the way through the season and McMahon still doesn't know his best side. Two points better off than last season, but already lost 5. Awful. Even when we've won (other than Aldershot) we've not looked great.

Already a number of fans want him gone. While I'm not at that stage, I'm not surprised.

Sadly we only have 3 fit centre mids who all started today, following a daft decision by Still to loan all our backup centre mids out.

Deserves longer surely based on last season? I was expecting a tough game yesterday but the space our forwards had to score the first 3 goals was crazy, no wonder we had a field day.

I try to avoid being hyperbolic, but Halifax have just produced the worst half of football I've seen at this level that I can remember. Absolutely appalling.
Why thank you. That's quite accomplishment against some resilient competition. :woo:

So Ebbsfleet start being shite after their customary win against us? Typical.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Outclassed yesterday at Mill Field,by a slick and quick Fylde team. Shots were hanging on for 40 mins.,then pressed the self-destruct button, with the usual inept defending.A couple of wonder saves from loanee keeper Legg saved us from total humiliation (again) .2 home games to come, from teams who are actually below us in the table...We live in hope

Next Saturday really is a must win. Turgott will be back I believe so we might score, but with Dover playing Aldershot if we lose I expect we'll be bottom

Surprised Ebbsfleet are having an indifferent start, they did very well against us in the play-off semi and thought they'd be in the promotion mix again.

Agree with Master D that McMahon deserves longer to try and turn things around and share some reservations about Ashmore.

McMahon’s problems aren’t helped by how long it took Ebbsfleet to get out of the Conference South. Their 15/16 should have won promotion easily but dropped a massive lead to ourselves and choked in the playoff final. Ebbsfleet are a well funded team and I’m guessing the aim is league Football sooner rather than later.

As for ourselves a good win on paper considering we were 1-0 down at ht. 7th now with a game in hand.

I see both sides to the argument. When you look at the stats from his time here, it's pretty impressive, however I'm not completely sure he's the man to take us forward. He talks a good game in the press, but his team selections, tactics and substitutions are absolutely bizarre. Team captain and probably our best centre back, Dave Winfield, completely left out yesterday. Luke Coulson who's been fantastic since signing, has been limited to just one or two starts, the same players being subbed all the time, regardless of performance. Jack King continuously starting despite being at fault for a lot of our goals conceded this season.

I've lost count to the amount of times he's pointed out that we did well last season, which is completely irrelevant to what's happening now.

Havant and Bromley at home next two, anything less than six points and my faith in him will be all but gone, which I hate to say as I do like the guy. The one thing I don't get, is that Steve Gritt has been assistant to Steve Brown, Jamie Day and now Daryl McMahon. Nobody seems to know what he actually does mind.
