We lost the play off final in this league to Hereford in 2006 at Leicester. Maybe it's time to go back to right that wrong.
P.s if there's any Hereford fans lurking on this page. That was still a badly hit cross. They'll know what I mean
I know what you mean- it was a great goal, why can't you admit it? Hereford deserved to win, twice behind but proved to be the best team on the day, and the better team over the season. Stop talking shit! :dk:

Think Torquay would take a decent amount as well they always have good away numbers bearing in mind the home crowds.

Either way, hope there's two proper clubs befitting the venue. Not like Bromley vs Eastleigh or some nonsense.
Don't think we'd take much more then 10000 to be honest. We took 20000 for our first Wembley visit in 1989 but as you'd expect it's gone down for each susequent trip. Think it was about 10000 for our fifth visit in 2009.

I am sure I have seen somewhere that Leicester is where the final will be played
Never understood why they don't decide the venue (if it's not to be Wembley) based on the teams playing. We played Stevenage in the 2011 League 2 play off final at Old Trafford. Ridiculous decision which resulted in a paltry crowd. Why couldn't it have been played somewhere like Ashton Gate which is reasonably close to both clubs?

If us and Sutton end up having to trek all the way to bloody Leicester you can expect another small gate.

You’re all forgetting the National League hold the playoff final about 32 mins after the semi finals have been completed, thus giving absolutely no time to sort tickets, transport etc.

Sutton to Leicester is 128 miles, that's a spit and 80 less than Wembley is from Halifax. Stop crying. :ds:

And Torquay to Leicester is 220 miles, what's your point? No problem with the final being at Wembley whichever clubs are involved, just makes no sense for a neutral club stadium to be miles away from both competing teams when there are perfectly decent stadiums basically equidistant between them.

If it ends up being Halifax against Chesterfield and the final was held in Ipswich it would be equally as stupid.

If we're in the final I won't care where it is, wild horses wouldn't stop me being there! What's YOUR point. :ds:

Exactly and imagine having to do that twice in a week. People simply can’t afford. It’s an expensive trip out London especially to people who don’t earn much

Only 40 miles difference, both national stadiums.... :ds:
London is 3&1/2 hours by train from Hartlepool, even shorter from Darlo.
While Cardiff,is well,fuck knows.
The league 1 play off game we had 17000 on a Bank Holiday Sunday, with virtually no public transport, everyone making the 12 hour round trip by car or coach.Pretty good effort if you ask me.
You tight arse Yorkshire twats would take about 5000.

I’ve also heard the play off final is being considered to be at Leicester, which would be a let down.
I‘ve been with Pools & it’s just a boring modern day identikit stadium.
If it is in the Midlands,I would prefer Villa Park.

We had a higher average attendance in the Conference North than Rochdale had in League One.

On the train back from Macclesfield away at the end of 16/17 I got speaking to a Hartlepool fan based in Cardiff. The travel for him to home games blew my mind over how complicated it was.

Because of the lack of trains I went in my mate's Fiat Cinquecento and the dozy twat missed a queue of traffic and we ploughed into a Land Rover on the M6, no guessing which one came off worse like. AA came out and towed us to the ground and his car to the scrap for 20 quid in return spent on gunshot couple rounds of shite concourse beer at half time. Missed the first half hour. Great support shame about the ref

We took 12,000 when we went to the trophy final in 2016

It’s all a bit of a mess, the new manager is completely unsuited to the group of players he’s inherited.

We need a big think in the summer about how we’ve ended up with a squad so unsuited to this division. We’ve got no presence or physicality at all, soon as any team puts any pressure on us we’ve got no idea what to do.

Ardley needed binning just for splurging so much of his budget on Jake Reeves.
Probably because you didn't come into the league with manager with NL experience who knows the division.

The best thing he can do now is go pragmatic, revert to the back four NA was playing (although it has to be said the 3-5-2 was a NA invention in an attempt to solve the goalscoring problems), plonk Reeves and Doyle in front of it and try and 1-0 our way into the play-offs. I don’t think he wants to be managing a team with no pace, no energy and which is completely reliant on experience at the back.
The Board have put everyone in a difficult situation because if he does that, the question is why did they sack Ardley when they did only to still play his way.

Or the new guy sticks to his style with a group who seemingly don't fit what he wants/needs and you have a difficult end to the season.

I guess, but we nearly went up last season. It was after a year of learning about the league that our recruitment went silly.

Stockport are one of the clubs that shared a bed with us, Rochdale, Wrexham, Crewe, Darlington, HaHaHaHartlepool, Newport, Chester et al at the bottom of the Football League for 60 years until the money went in, in the late 80s. Then the money went out again and here you are. I KNOW who you are. I know who you ALL are. :fl: :ds:

Excuse me, a little over 40 years ago we were in Division 2 and the Quarter finals of the cup winners cup, dont roll us in with Newport and Chester.

Sorry, a couple of deserved seasons fooling around in Division 2 don't negate a hundred years sharing the same bed. Look who your most frequent opponents have been in that time, that will tell you where you belong on the ladder :fl:

Hereford may have been the better side on the day but that ET winner was not a great goal at all. It was only a badly hit cross.
