Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and admit that they were better than us all over the park, although 4-0 flattered them a bit, especially as the seconded was a fluke, and the fourth just trickle in, AFCF were not full on today, made a few mistakes, but they will get stronger as the season goes on , actually we were not that bad, although we failed to penetrate once we got in there box, but It is official we carry the worst striker in this league,………………….on another note, there are more sets of road works on this countries motorway system, than anytime during my 20 years of watching Dover home and away

I wish we weren’t stuck with Still but IMO we are. He has signed 11(?) of 36 players so the majority are not his players but if we get rid of the useless dinosaur, someone else will want to bring in their own players and we will remain caught in this awful cycle.

Sadly, we need to ride this out and hope we turn things around. There’s no Mad Dog available (yet!) to save us so who do we turn to if we get shot of Still now?

I expected us to lose today and am expecting another defeat at Chesterfield to possibly take us bottom. The home game with Daggers is probably then going to be win or bust for Still but if we get rid of him, I think we will suffer more this season than if we persevere. Sadly.

Same as it turned out last season with the out-of-his-depth Eames...

A group of increasingly desperate and delusional types who think a history of drawing with Port Vale and Crewe bestows some sort of superiority isn’t civilisation.

I prefer to reminisce about our days of playing Southampton, Leeds, Sheff Wed and QPR in competitive fixtures, these were regular fixtures for us, not a money spinning tin foil cup cutout dream game it is for Sutton.

Pfft, where were you when we were playing League games against Aston Villa, Blackburn, Bolton, Sheff Wed, Sheff Utd, Fulham, Crystal Palace? Oh that's right you were in Division 4.

And we drew 0-0 with City at Maine Road that season.

And nobody had ever even heard of a Fleetwood or a Fylde. The glory days and beauty of the Natural Order.
And we were dumping you out of the League Cup. I'm surprised you didn't mention it. :woo:

Overrun by the bafflingly smug and almost entirely humourless Chesterfield fans who are so very conspicuous by their absence this evening, I’d imagine.
Lack of humour seems to be a trait of their county. Not like us Yorkies. We're hilarious. :woot:

Did you? You learn something everyday. I doubt a single Wrexham fan would have been able to tell you who knocked us out of the League Cup in 98/99.

Though I can see why it clearly lives long in the memory for a club like Halifax.

There are other managers available. We aren't going to get promoted so we should focus on winning fans back with a manager who plays attractive football. I would go for Gavin Rose from Dulwich. The squad is big enough for another manager to come in and implement a new style without needing to sign too many. The worst thing we could do right now is sell Still's less favoured players and let him build a squad entirely to his liking, as he's signed so much dross that he'd likely just sign more.

I don't know how many games you've seen but we look way off being competitive and Still seems to be learning nothing from game to game. Having Sparkes and Harrison up top is killing us as they're too slow to have any real impact, while Elito just doesn't move or show for the ball. All three continue to start however. Our tactics are so outdated - all 11 men back when defending set pieces, all passing up to the attack goes through the air, no movement up front, but worst of all there's no defensive organisation.

We're just fish out of water in these parts. We know who we are, where we came from, where we belong and that one day soon, we will all be back there. When one of us loses, we all feel their pain. :cool1:

Oh but of course, the win allowed us to resume our bitter-sweet derby match series with Bradford City, the dearest and closest of all our brothers. Thank you Wrexham for rolling over so obligingly. We never did say thanks at the time. :ds:

Pfft. Hardly. If you want to talk about giant killing, I challenge ANY of you fuckers to trump our 2 aces: Halifax Town 2 Man Utd 1, Halifax Town 1 Man City 0.

Over 2 you.

You don't to remind us of your ex football league status, its in clear view when watching highlights of halifax games. Big ground that you rent off the council and not a single person in sight. Must of been a great sight when full

You’re a weirdo but I’ll nibble at this as you keep repeating yourself with little digs.

If you can find examples of our fans on here being smug or arrogant then I’d be surprised. I think most of us on here are realistic in our chances this season. If we finish where we are now this season i personally think we will have done very well as we are a poor side in my opinion.

Careful now that's a bit serious that is lad - I think we should come out with our best jokes just for him. Seems to be what he's here for.

Wrexham 2-1 Arsenal

A club still in existence pulled that one off.

Likewise your (very impressive) celebrated drawing at ours last season like you’d won a trophy or something. It’s the way of Football fans, what do you expect with a last minute equaliser, polite applause?[/QUOTE]

We’ve never been in the Conference North. Same level whilst you were playing those clubs at their lowest ebb and your historical high. Kind of reminds me of something
