Boreham Wood away next which will be a stern test.

As with any side at this level losing Andradae and, to a lesser extent, Ferrier, they are a considerably more limited side this season. Still well-drilled and playing reasonable stuff thanks to Garrard, but destined for mid-table due to a lack of genuine creativity.

Another win for our very average but superbly coached outfit but never mind that, the big question on absolutely everybody's lips was "where the hell is Pliny Harris?". I tell a lie, nobody noticed, nobody gave a fuck. :tw:

I thought we deserved the win and edged the game overall today, BW a shadow of the side they were last season after losing 5/6 players. Still well drilled at the back and in the middle mind, they played it about well at times but they were toothless up front. Playing two very young on loan strikers isn't going to see them score many.

Our pace caused them alot of problems though, which was how Koroma won the penalty which Bonne scored.

Today I was alot happier with our ball retention, played some nice and neat passing at times today.

They brought 96 fans - Down 70 on last season.

Take back everything I said about Fondop to that Halifax fan in the summer. The lad has been a revelation. He'll be gone in January at this rate.
That's ok Mr D, I never take anything you say seriously. :woot:

I don't expect them to notice my absence, but many people have certainly remarked on the low attendance today and hushed atmosphere. It's about the collective not the individual, as ever with football (among other things)...

Awful. What a dire start to the season. The squad we’ve put together this season just isn’t good enough, no quality at all in the final third, plus absolutely no physical presence.
Really hope there’s at least 4 teams worse than us in this league.
Ebbsfleet, Sutton and Wrexham in our next 3 - wouldn’t be at all surprised if we get 0 from those.

I cannot see Still surviving that. He's caused a monumental amount of damage and is destroying his legacy as an effective manager at this level.

Sadly whoever replaces him will have to work with absolute dross. Medy Elito is the worst, utterly disinterested, just needs to fuck off and concentrate on his rap career. Didn't think I'd ever type that about one of our players, but here we are.

Is he delusional? What is he going on about in his post match interview - our passing and movement were good? But he admits we weren’t good enough ‘in either box’?

We lost 3-0 at home you melon - of course we weren’t good enough! What passing? What movement?

I don’t know how much more of this I can take.

Our passing has been awful since Still joined, it looks like we're so focused on attacking set pieces in training (which we haven't done effectively outside the first two games) that we aren't practising passing at all. We struggle with even basic passing routines at the moment.

The only vague hope we have of getting out of this message is to remove Still immediately. Completely spent as a manager and totally detached from reality.

It's five games in lads.

You haven't been watching this dross. This team is horrific. Literally the only positive I got from today was that the young striker we brought on 10 minutes from the end ran around a lot and actually looked like he gave a shit. That is how poor we look at the moment. Still's post match comments are completely nonsensical and contradictory and he seems to have no clue as to how to turn this round.

Most of all though, this is emphatically his squad. 11 signings, and of those only one looks competent aside from the couple of kids who haven't played. Medy Elito - on a 2 year deal and no doubt on big wages - has yet to produce anything faster than a jog in 4 starts.

I'd love to see how you Barnet fans would react if you went 17 games without a win (we lost most of them as well) like we did last season

Goes to show how bad we are, we made Barnet look like Barcelona in the first game of this season. We’ve lost good players to bigger and better things, and replaced them with shite. Waddock still wants to play pretty football but we just don’t have the players to do it. Something needs to change sharpish or we’re in for a long season at the wrong end of the table.

You have nothing like our budget though. We had a top half budget in L2 last season and a top 5 budget this year. All squandered on utter dross.

We did that last season mate.

It's not just five games. We've now had two years of shit results.

I completely get you on how it must look to people on the outside seeing all of us moaning - must seem like the biggest overreaction ever.

But from someone who’s seen all of our games so far (bar Harrogate away) - the performances have been even worse than the results. Still has been suitably financially backed (relative for a club our size) and had everything he wanted made available to him. We’re falling without a trace and he’s coming out with these mental statements in post-match interviews! It’s genuinely THAT BAD that 5 games is more than enough to see that things are seriously wrong.

What im trying to say is its only 5 games...its no need to panic yet. You lot will not get relegated like some are claiming

Our 17 games without a win shows just how bad this league is. You can be absolutely shit for close to half a season & still stay up.

Probably also worth mentioning that after the massive injury crisis under Eames, McGhee's hateful indifference and incompetence, and Westley's cluelessness, Martin Allen then somehow had us on auto promotion form for the last 7/8 games of last season. After appointing an experienced manager who has won this league three times there was therefore a fair few reasons to be optimistic about this season. Nobody was expecting or demanding an immediate return, but we should be up there on budget and what we already had in the squad. Still has come in, allowed important players to leave and made a huge number of signings consisting mostly of middling Dagenham players from last season and players who were decent a few years ago but are now horribly shot. It will require a huge amount of work for even the best of managers to offload the dross and bring some quality in. Still wants to make more signings but the chairman has told him he's used up the budget and needs to sell players from last season's squad first. The trouble is that we can't because the new signings are so bad that the existing squad are desperately needed.

Finally! 3 points in the bag. Much more like it today. Finally went to the system we worked on in pre season and it paid off (funny that).

Under Still, with this squad, we are undoubtedly in a relegation battle. Yes, a new manager will likely come in at some point, but given Kleanthous's track record it will likely not be a competent one.

We are not a well run part-time club where everyone is generally pulling in the same direction and that can up their game when the going gets tough, our club is far more broken than the part timers near the bottom. Attendances are in freefall and we have incompetent players tied in on 2 year deals. I see us far more likely to emulate Stockport and York right now.

When you see who barnet have played though they’d have to be one of the front runners for relegation

Beat Dover 4 nil. Very comfortable and if we’d of started better it would of been 6 or 7. No disrespect to Dover but I think they’ll go down. Didn’t see anything from them. Shadow of their side from last season.

As for us, we’re far more solid this season. Byrne is the best defender we’ve ever had and Toure is class. Sutton away next which I think is the toughest fixture of the season. I would take a point right now

A home win was always on the cards today, you did the double last season too. I'm sure it helps that your rich owner is much richer than ours.
There are probably 4 worst teams than us. Havant for 1 who I've seen.

He's won this league 3 times before, has he really fallen off that bad?? on paper your squad looks at worst a mid table team.

The quality of this league gets worse every season.

We'll drag it down a notch again when we rejoin in a year's time.

Has there ever been a team promoted into the Football League & been relegated straight back down??
