Reynolds was made captain by Currie. I suspect Reynolds is not one of those not trying. Sweeney on the other hand...

Agreed on Sweeney. I know for a fact that Dunne is very disappointed with what he’s ended up having to deal with in this squad - there’s plenty of others.

With Reynolds - it’s clear he doesn’t give a shit. I think he was brought in for his personality, which in the right team could be an asset. But he knows he’s not wanted (we tried to get rid in the summer) so he’s downed tools. He’s an appalling leader. DC needs to grab this squad by the balls and take him out.

Too many of our fans are acutely aware that we’ve been through too many managers so obviously the latest must be given time EVEN IF HE’S LITERALLY GOT US RELEGATED FROM THE LEAGUE.

No idea if the stats driven owners are sackers or not, but I’d love to see the numbers that suggest we should keep Ardley.

I cannot understand why Reynolds would have remained captain if that were the case. Something just doesn’t make sense.

Reynolds is probably one of the top earners hence the reason we tried to offload. Contrary to popular opinion, I don’t mind him as a player however, he doesn’t strike me as captain material and needs to play alongside a tough old fashioned centre half.

Barnet’s manager is hardly gonna Currie flavour with his players after talking about them like that.

One of our best performances of the season today and a huge response from last week’s shambles against a decent Notts County side. We pressed so high and didn’t let County play at all. Aside from a 20 minute period in the second half I thought we were the better side and decent game management to see the result through. Notts will be up there come over the end of the season, good side with some quality players but I think we caught them off guard today and got a big 3 points.

As for all the Callum Reynolds chat in this thread, just intrigued as to what he’s done? Was a good leader for us a couple of years back.

He won't, but I think there is a consensus among our fans that this is a lazy, disinterested group of players. They turned up for the cup ties against Sheffield United and Brentford last season but we've seen fuck all else from them, under Still or Currie.

I agree with Urban that I'd just like to see Currie seriously put his foot down with this lot rather than talk tough in interviews but continue to pick the players he clearly hates so much every week. If he had any balls he'd have changed captains months ago.

He was appointed captain immediately after joining, with Still ditching the popular Dan Sweeney, which got people's backs up straight away.

He rarely puts in anything better than a 5/10 performance and still holds the captaincy despite barely saying a word during games, except to just rant at the rest of the back line after we concede.

I have never once heard Currie praise him, and everyone who talks to the players reckons he's definitely one of the lazy money-grabbers who Currie talks about.

Like everyone who Still signed up on a two year deal, he is almost certainly on very good money. Only Salford and Orient could trump us for budget last season and he was made captain, so his wages are likely to be right up there.

Could it be that it's in his contract that he must be captain?

He's one of those who tries to be one of the lads - fine, no issues - bit unprofessional at times (even ignoring the whole balloon drug video issues last season) but whatever. What rankles though is that he can be proper turd at times but then in those same games he will give out incessantly to other players the moment they do something stupid. As in, he'd be solely at fault for 2 goals (which is impressive in itself as he's competing with Sweeney to be responsible for that) but then give out at his covering midfielder for misplacing a pass. He's just a general tit but without any of the performances that would excuse him for it. He'll contribute fuck all except ineptitude all game, give out abuse to others who don't deserve it, but then make himself center-stage with the rest of the 'lads' when something goes right.

Yep pressing us will work. Ardley thinks we’re Barca circa 2011, with Mitchell Rose as Iniesta and Micheal Doyle as Xavi.

That team would have been found out by Barrow and Aldershot as well.

As I've been saying for months:

- DC tried to get rid of loads of them in the Summer to free up wages. He managed it with some (Harrison and Robson thankfully being two of them), but the others refused the advances we did get, refused any offers we made to pay them off and were happy to just sit back and collect their weeklies. However, now they know they're not wanted they're happy to just do the bare minimum with no consequences. These players include: Reynolds, Boucard (one of our top earners, which may surprise some), Alexander (to be fair he does try, he's just quite rubbish - which we were told when we signed him), Adams, Sparkes and to a lesser extent, Sweeney and Elito (we didn't try to get rid of these, but they are sitting back on their contracts. I will be surprised (+ sad) if Sweeney stays next season)

- TK is really badly thought of in the world of agents, which makes signing players very difficult. He's known to be tight and renegades on his word frequently. Why do you think we've found it hard to sign a #9? DC knows who and what he wants - some just outright refuse, others against advice from people still give him a chance with a meeting, only to be messed around and then refuse the deal (this happened atleast twice - one of these strikers is now on form, scoring in L2). Other players are advising others against signing for us (one of these players joined his advisor at Yeovil recently, after both were very close to signing for us).

- We have the core of a great side at this level (Loach, Santos, Dunne, J. Taylor, Coulthirst) and the budget given to Still was very generous. He completely fucked it and DC has been left to pick up the pieces of this. We could have expected much better last season - this one is a write-off.

For all our problems, let’s be honest - if we had a half decent number 9, or had Pavey been signed in the summer and therefore had a pre-season with us, we would be at least 6 points better off right now.

Be interesting to see what changes are made on Tuesday in what is a huge game for us.

Loach would walk into most teams in this league on yesterdays performance.

Was his only ever good game on the tv up at our place back in August?

Stockport County.
Ebbsfleet Town got a point yesteday at Edgeley Park. I don't even think that should be allowed to be honest. There should be something in the rules that stops this because this is how we've ended up with a team called Bromley near the top of the league. Nobody wants to see that, not even the people who live in Bromley.

To be honest, the story of his past two seasons here has been to start well, do nothing for months on end, and then play well for a month to win a new contract. This season, however, he's dictating games and scoring goals and it's November!

One of the players of the season so far for sure. I don't think there's much danger of you losing him either as he's not League quality.

Having watched our highlights back again if we were half as good at the back as we are going forward we'd be laughing. All three of our goals on Saturday had touches of individual quality in the build-up, Skendi's ball to Smith has to be one of the passes of the season.

It was also the best scuffed hat-trick I’ve ever seen.

Why would it be? Seeing as he scuffed all 3 shots in. Grant Holt was laughing about it on BT.

Saying that, we wouldn’t mind someone with the ability to do that.

That pass from the CB was beautiful.

Our defence was ropey on Saturday, after looking better lately, but a lot of the credit for that has to go to the Yeovil attacking play, which was very good.

That wasn't in the slightest bit scuffed?!

Murphy did miss a sitter from 6 yards though.

All 3 weren't struck cleanly. Holt and co had a point. Wouldn't lay the blame with the keeper though either.
