Chesterfield's arses have gone there. Can't blame injuries, it's just bottle.

There is a very long way to go yet. Just two teams are above 2 points per game now. That's still the marker, if you can reach that, you'll find yourself in it.

We've got catching up to do thanks to that Jason Rusk or whatever his name was' start. Easy tonight, King's Lynn were terrible in fairness. Great for Connor Jennings.

Fucking shite that. On the train back, will be back home at 2am. What the fuck am I doing this shit for? Another team that presses us and takes the points. Difficult to put a positive spin on the performance other than to say it hinged on fine margins. Both their goals are defensive mistakes with the second coming when we're just managing to get on top and have missed our best chance of the match. If that had gone in there's only one winner for me as we had them on the ropes. Fair play to them as they took their chances and we didn't. Just not clicking for us at the moment at all. Everything is rushed and jittery, at the start of the season we seemed to be way more patient and could get hold of the ball but we just can't now. Still though, somehow we're still 3rd??

Massive props to Connor Jennings too btw. Glad to see his name back on the scoresheet.

I'm hearing some horrid rumours in the pub tonight that apparently Kabbys release clause is 375k and Wigan are basically waiting for the window to open to move. That would be horrid. It would make sense that we got him though if 375k release was the incentive
Heard that a while back but then I got told after Saturday's game that he's since signed a new contract which hasn't got such a stupid release clause.

Won't go into the game tonight, I pretty much agree with everything that's already been said. Well done Alty, one of the more impressive teams to turn up at our gaff this season.

Frustrating. Not a bad point on paper with their home record, but watching the actual game there was such a gulf in quality between the teams on the ball. Ultimately, though, they created as much from second balls and hopeful crosses as we did from having three quarters of the possession and flowing passing moves, which is a problem. Our away form is becoming a bit of a nightmare.

Like a dagger to the heart but you could sense it coming. Officials awful, Alty were a fun side, lots of technical players capable of taking the ball on the half turn. We pressed really well for 80 minutes and then ran out of gas, lost our shape and the inevitable happened.

Even though we’ve won the Squad Depth cup it just isn’t enough. This injury farce is really boring now. Almost as boring as I imagine reading about it is.

Think Forum pressure has got to Chessie, all this injury stuff is just a smoke screen.
The lads are avid readers and the frost cover stuff got to them, so if everybody could be a little kinder that’d be great.

If we can drop our fear of playing in front of large home crowds we'll do very well. 3 of the next 4 games are at home, and the other game I'd away at Dover. We could very well be in the top 5 at Christmas, right before we sort our weaknesses out in January. The performance last night may not have been up to scratch but the result was massive.

It's happened a few times now, but seems to hurt more every time.

These injuries are killing us..

Still top of the league for now.

Perhaps he should look closer to home, was it really that classy of your captain to start fist pumping after he'd coerced the ref into sending one of our players off earlier in the season?
There’s a very high level of shithousery in this league this year, more so than I’ve seen before. Nary a goal gets scored against us in front of the Kop without the scorer cupping ears or shushing lips. Alty’s keeper ran back about 30 yards and did the world’s longest knee slide when they equalised (I had to admire it). Not a complaint, just an observation. Would probably help if we stopped conceding 95th minute equalisers.

Motors away is always a tough game, it is the new Barrow away.

Plus you played them on the dreaded Tuesday night, instead of a pleasant Saturday afternoon like Chesterfield did. The luck is all going their way.

Yea that would make me much happier. I mean I also heard from the same bloke that the Queen is dead and the news isn't being released yet so at to keep public spirits up during a pandemic. So I guess you can't always trust what Paul in the Crown and Anchor says.

I've very much enjoyed taking a look at the Halifax forum thus morning and seeing how shit we were, how Mullin is a mercenary and how 'Parkinson is a grade A pr**k'. Seems like they took the result well.

Yep. Rousing round of applause when he came on late on, then right at the end we get a lovely little run into the right-hand side of the box (Crankshaw I think), simple ball into a crowded area and CJ taps it home from six yards. Fairytale stuff
This is brilliant, absolutely made up for the lad.

At the height of our good run I’d heaped praise onto Hurst, I said that he’d turned a corner and we looked far more progressive and he came across very upbeat which was reflected onto the pitch.

I look now and it’s exactly the same now as it was in the bad old days, it’s taken a matter of weeks to revert to type. Struggling to get back into games when we go behind and seemingly only having one idea, on top of that sounding absolutely fucking dour in interviews with no real spark at all. I don’t understand the dropping of Towler when the mistake of playing two slow cbs was the root of us leaking goals at the start of the season. I also don’t get why Sousa is walking into this side when Bapaga was improving with every game, I don’t think we’ve won a single penalty since he was benched? Mckeown needs dropping immediately too.

I think it’s become increasingly obvious that we’re a 1 man team and without McAtee in the team we look bang average. McAtee is not your classic Hurst player, he’s a maverick who causes a real spark for the rest of the team which drags them away from this shite ‘do not lose’ brand of football. Now he’s back, I feel much better but we need a severe kick up the arse.

It's as bias as you'd expect a home forum to be. I bet if I went on Chesterfield's forum and read through last nights post match some would be saying how the ref was shit. Altrincham did this and that and got away with it. It's always the same on these forums.

I hope you enjoyed the win. Still looking up at us so I believe ;)

The “shithousery” is a natural reaction to you bigging yourselves up.
And every club has injury problems, and most just get on with it, but I have to admit that more talented technical players do get targeted and clobbered (and they tend to be a bit more fragile). And having splashed the cash, I guess most of your squad fall into that category. Grin and bear it, constant complaining looks like getting excuses in early.

Are you this James McAtee's agent or something?

If I was it’d be a nice easy job, he’s not been fit for 6 games and we’ve lost 5 of them, not hard to recognise where the issue may be

Brilliant point, Karl. Their keeper was certainly reading me posting about how we're going to win the league when I was pissed up the other night. Any more snippets of wisdom?
Most clubs don't have 13/14 players out. It'd be pretty remiss of us to pretend this wasn't happening. Acting like a team having a few players out injured vs a starting XI and then some is... well, it's certainly a take.

I think last night was the first time, having so many missing actually impacted us. Saw on twitter we had 12 out which is mental.

Attacking mid at right back, Tyson, CDM, Weston CM probably aren't what we need. Miller is back this weekend but the rest are all fairly long term.

I heard Danny Rowe has been given the all clear from this test results so can return to training, but to be honest we don't need strikers. We only named 4 subs last night and 2 of them were strikers anyway.

It's them or Bromley that are the new Barrow for sure. Both of them are proper treks from the train station too giving them that arse end of nowhere void left in the division since Barrow's departure.

I'm with you on most of that. Towler completely 100%. I figured he was rested against Southend and would be back in last night. I said in pre-season Waterfall/Pearson is a disaster waiting to happen and while that maybe hasn't been the case yet, it's not been great. They had an easy night vs Southend which earnt them some time it seems but Towler has to come back in for the Borehamwood match. He's been one of the best CBs in the division from what I've seen and has a good understanding with Waterfall. Macca does indeed need dropping too. He's cost us the match last night and those worldie saves are becoming less frequent. Sousa will surely be dropped next time out as well, he was utter garbage last night. And as you say. I don't really know what Bapaga's done to be frozen out and limited to 15/20min cameos now as we've seen steady improvement when he's been given a run.

I'm not sure the entire blame can be placed at Hurst's door though. Yep, it's his squad and he should be the one motivating them but there are players that aren't doing the simple things consistently enough. Hunt doesn't press enough, too many players pinging aimless balls into nowhere, defenders not picking players up in the box...these things are all costing us points. He has reverted back to a less dynamic way of playing but that's surely a natural response to losing our best player and being on a stinker of a run. What can be said about him though is that it's his job to instill the belief in the players and he's clearly not doing that right now. I still think he's the best manager in the division personally, and one of the biggest strengths we have over those around us and the teams we'll be competing with for playoff spots come the end of the season.
