Has Ebou Adams been any good for your lot? As you well know, he was excellent for us in the second half of last season. If anything he should be playing higher.

He's been one of the positives playing in an advanced role, although he decided to play him in front of the back three last night which obviously didn't work. Literally everybody can see where we're going wrong except for McMahon. 2 points from a possible 18 is diabolical. We've gone behind in all seven home games. I can't see a way back from this. Play offs already out of reach.

They appear to have a bottom half NL South budget. Some of their signings over the past few weeks have been very desperate.

Honestly couldn’t work out who their best player was. Bettamer perhaps, because his off the ball movement was vaguely acceptable and he trapped the ball once or twice. Dreadful side. Baffled that Henry Ochieng can’t get in the side.

Still, at least they brought on the entirely appropriately named Justin Amaluzor.

The open one up the other end?

Not confident whatsoever. We've only scored more than once in two of our thirteen games, and that was against Aldershot and Barnet. Genuinely don't see where our next win is coming from.

McMahon made reference to how many set pieces we had on Tuesday (12 by half time apparently) yet failed to mention that only one of them failed to beat the first man. After the hammering at Wrexham, he and the squad had a "clear the air meeting" in which things were said and done. Since then we've picked up one point from home games against Havant and Bromley. He even tried claiming a point at home to Havant is "something to build on" for fucks sake.

You’ll get a bit of the covered terrace next to the seats you normally get. 300 spaces are now given.

Sounds like your out of form just like Chesterfield the other week and they should have beat us but go their only point in 9-10 games with us holding on. You have players that can turn it on and I’m sure Cheek or Whitely will score. We’ve only beaten Braintree which was a late pen and smash and grabbed a late win at Barrow. Unless we sign some players before Saturday any half decent team should beat us.

Cheek has started the last two, McMahon will probably drop him to the bench. He only started against Bromley because he scored against Havant. Honestly do really wonder with McMahon sometimes!

One thing that's guaranteed is that it will be one of the scrappiest games you'll see and whoever is less shit at scoring will will win. We're so bad defensively.

Lyle Della Verde looked decent when we played them and has looked good when I've seen him at previous clubs, but they have numerous players who will just never be good enough for this level.

I still think Quinton has done a good job there to get them up on a bottom half NL South budget, but he seems to be panicking with his signings and to me it looks like his contacts in the game are pretty limited outside Essex non-league.

There is interest, and attempts have been made but have struggled. If you have any contacts then please fire them over, I know a couple who were involved in recent attempts to resurrect the CFSS (those who came to save club about 2000 when Darren Brown nearly killed us - Orient fans probably remember this not so fondly) - so can pass on those details and see if there is still an appetite to get the ball rolling.

Do it!! Then I can come and watch you scrambling your way back and report, heartlessly, to my home forum about the new "Fred Carno's Circus" FC Chesterfield, to much hilarity, as one of your clowns did when we played at Matlock one now long ago winter's night. #LookingForwardToIt :ds:

Well, you can be us or you can be Scarborough. The phoenix club idea is tempting, but it needs to be the nuclear option. You guys need to organise and the formation of a Fans’ Trust is the only sensible place to start. Ours will help you get off the ground if there’s appetite rather than apathy.

This with bells on, when we were going through our period of shite with cunty owners LOFT and Exeter’s trust AFAIK were both instrumental in setting up ours, every club should have an active trust, you don’t think you need one until you do.

Stand to be corrected, but I think we were the first Club to have a Supporters Trust set-up and/or to get Trust Representation at Board level, with the help of Supporters Direct off the back of our financial difficulties in the early 00's.

We now have Trust representation on both Club boards (LCFC - The Club and LCH - Holding Company).

The setting it up is the 'easy' bit. The difficulty is to prevent complacency creeping in, as it did with ours for a period of time. If you're not careful, it becomes an old boys club who resist change, fresh ideas and are set in their own ways, becoming a closed shop. Tonnes of people tried to get involved but forced out when the group were dismissive of them.

It came to light that some members were, somehow, managing to vote for themselves and in some cases, vote twice. Not sure how they managed that.

In the end, one of our Nice-based shareholders took legal action against the Trust, which broke it up and started again. That was needed, but caused havoc within the Club at a time we didn't really need it (the 2nd, 3rd and 4th seasons in the NL IIRC, when nothing was going right and we didn't have a pot to piss in).

It also had a legal challenge from the same person (one of the highest shareholding individuals in the Club) because those on the Trust board at the time decided to illegally transfer 1,000,000 shares from the Trust to the Holding Company because they didn't ask or notifying its members, along with other things like allegedly paying for ST's for Trust Board members with fans membership money. They all resigned en masse as you can imagine. It then left it with less than the legal amount of Directors to run it and therefore we lost our supporter representation on the Board for a period of time.

It was re-launched by a Working Party (involving former Chairman Rob Bradley who was heavily involved in the initial set-up with SD back in the early 00's).

All seems sorted at the minute with set amount of years you can be on the Board, to ensure new blood comes in. Mind you, if everything's going well on the pitch, the Trust doesn't really serve too much of a purpose. The real test is when it's needed.

Rob would be ideal for Chestefield fans to talk to and we're pretty local, too. Pretty sure he helped Exeter, Wimbledon and Swansea set theirs up under SD.
