Back in the game! Made Aldershot look very ordinary, and their defence was dreadful - presume it was just an off day for them.
Adi Yussuf scored a very good hat-trick, and there were a couple of questionable offside calls as well.
With half a team still to come back, we'll be alright if we perform to that standard most weeks.
I should hope so, we need to keep our 'local' games!

Orient deserved a draw I think. Typically they suddenly turned up against us and were a team fully playing for that manager.

Play wingers get results.... simples. Ref great for first 60 mins had a total meltdown for last 30 , i would say the most clueless ive seen but probably not considering some of the jokers weve had.

Thats 6 nailed on pens in a row at home turned down.....

You could put together a decent compilation of Jalal errors for us this season. Got away with it a bit with no other teams near the top winning.

I apologise on behalf of Woking to the Footballing Gods and the National League for our ineptitude this afternoon at punishing Guiseley for WHAT THEY DID.

Im going mental.

Probably just about deserved on balance. They were there for the taking but we were poor yet again.

Chester were one of the most negative teams I've seen since our Ryman days. It seemed like Bignot's plan from the off was just to hang on for a draw.

Potential banana skin imo. We're expected to win but Chester have shown improvements under Bignot and our home form has been slipping recently. I'll be happy to escape this one unscathed.

Always sweet when you win against those cynical teams late on. I remember one against either Harrow or Harlow we won 2-1 where the visitors really took the piss, then conceded the winner in the last minute of extra time that was only there because of their time wasting

I'll be honest, I didn't think it was stonewall at all - I thought he played the ball first, and then we (McDonagh?) deliberately tripped over his outstretched leg. I'd be interested in seeing it again though. I agree that the ref did have a mare towards the end, which was odd as he seemed well in control for the first hour.

That was a strange match - we looked lifeless for large parts of the game, particularly in the later parts of the first half, but whenever we attacked we looked like scoring for a change. It was the polar opposite of our usual "huff and puff but no end result". I'll be frank - Halifax were woeful playing out of defence, giving the ball away in some really bad positions under no pressure. We ourselves did look a bit shaky at the back at times... McNulty still isn't at his imperious best, but overall we looked dangerous and the scoreline could have been more one-sided on another day. A good day at the office.

Chester very nearly succeeded in their game plan. Was our goal 95 minutes? We were also lucky to be the only top half team who won today. Giddy heights while it lasts.

Norwood has a badass gash... you could see his skull apparently!

The McDonagh tackle was at my end of the ground and I thought it was a stonewall penalty.

All of the new signings made a positive impression today and we were excellent, playing with width, pace and energy. I don't know why the Wrexham fans did not rate Gerry as he was very good indeed, mobile, energetic and a real handful.

Halifax have been poor in both recent games against us, just matching us up tactically and doing nothing to stop our creative players. The scoreline actually flatters them, with both their goals coming from set plays where Denton won the initial header.

.

For those not fluent in the universal language of football, this is fanspeak for "he gave us everything in the first hour and nothing in the last 30 minutes.".

Well that scoreline absolutely flatters Halifax who were dreadful and clearly can't play football. Norwood was really on fire until he got concussion and our wingers did plenty of damage. Onwards..

Their best player the number 12 who was playing in black had a great habit of getting Halifax free kicks on the rare occasions they got into our half, as with those big units they looked a threat from those set pieces. Not to be trumped by getting away with two stonewall penalties. It'll be interesting to see if they play 12 players again next week.
As we're being ungracious this afternoon it seems, I'll respond- take away the second goal which was a yard offside and the fourth, which resulted from a suicide ball across the back line on half way, and this is a very flattering scoreline for Tranmere, who were ably assisted for an hour by a homer ref and a lino with no working concept of the offside law. :ds:

It's amazing how bias colours judgment (both ways, I hasten to add!). I guess we'll agree to disagree.

How many times have you seen him play? I think most of us said that the lad isn't a bad player but he's soft as shite considering the size of him and will not jump for a header.

Three. Two substitute appearances plus a full ninety minutes today.

Maybe today was a one-off, but it did not seem like it. His strength seems to be running the channels rather than winning headers and he stood up for himself physically as well. Like any youngster, he has probably progressed a bit since his spell with you last season.

I thought a draw was about right for our game today, the wind made it difficult for both sides.

But once again we show why we are so low in the table, we’re so soft at defending. Concede after 42 seconds and After being a top for a few minutes, we cannot defend for shit. Davis is such a cock, the same problems keep happening over and over again.

It took a lucky equaliser to make it 1-1, I’ll Let Bonne have that one, the amount of times he’s hit the woodwork in this poor run we've had.

Wrexham didn’t build on the early goal and our equaliser took the stuffing out of them I thought.

We played ok, but completely shat ourselves when when we made it 2-2. We're so crap at defending.

Davis Out, the fucking idiot.

Poor result and sounded like an awful performance. We're so hot and cold this season, and we're so predictable now. Teams have us sussed out, and we don't really have any sort of plan B.
I fear for us at Shrewsbury next week, but then there's some very winnable games coming up between now and Xmas which is we need to take advantage of.

Some terrible defending from us today. Cox up to his usual tricks. Topped off by a Guiseley player faking a head injury when the ball was in the box in the last minute - got up as soon as the whistle was blown.

Haven't looked forward to a Moors game as much as this for a while. Probably a lot of misplaced optimism after the Eastleigh victory but I'm quietly confident.
Definitely misplaced optimism. Money has a really job on his hand to keep Solihull it seems.

Orient keeper did that today when one of our forwards was taken out in the box. Stone wall penalty but their keeper Lay on the floor pretending to be dead until the referee stopped play and did a drop ball by the touchline instead.

Any truth in the rumour that chester only conceded today due to them doing their usual lap of honour after getting a draw and not realising the match was not over?
Stranger than that. Their keeper wasted several minutes changing his boots for new ones. It's entirely possible that without that extra time we would not have scored.

I went to the game at Tranmere today and I was not surprised that we lost but it was embarrassing at times. Tranmere could’ve had 10 goals in the first 15 minutes alone. Team’s a joke at the minute. We’ve gone from the best defence in the league (along with Wrexham) in the first 8 or so games and all of a sudden it’s gone to shit, midfield get overrun and give the ball away in silly positions and the attack is so disjointed with us reverting back to long ball and hope it falls to us. Embarrassed with the team today, however, not the support from our terrific away fans who didn’t stop singing today. Outsung Tranmere the whole time. Very proud to be a town fan in that aspect. Also, credit to mottley Henry who looks a superb player

Fair play for making the trip, it was decent support. One of the rare fixtures that feels like a football league game, off the pitch at least. Hope you had an easy journey home.
