Rovers deserve the lead, but aren’t playing that well. Visitors came back into it more late in the half a good save by Taylor and a couple of half-chances.
Played as well as we needed to against a poor Ebbsfleet, their keeper stopped it being 6 or 7.

YouTube video to come of Ben Tollitt nutmegging two players with one touch..

Solid and professional stuff again and resting Quigley was sensible. Even though it should be, it's actually not easy going away to these crap teams on crap pitches, the team has to have the right mentality from the start and be 100% up for it because if you're off it they'll end up scoring from a set piece or long throw against you. Pearson was brilliant again in that respect all game and headed in a corner himself. A hard fought 18th clean sheet of the season and keeping top spot warm for Tranmere.

A very comfortable victory. The first half performance was not great, but we are in a good place at the moment, creating chances even in periods of the game when we are not at our best. In the second half some of our football was excellent.

I was surprised Tollitt came on against such cynical opposition, but he looked very sharp. Cook and Norwood linked up superbly all game.

With Tollitt, Clarke and possibly Wallace all to come back into the starting eleven in the next few games, we have to be reasonably confident.

We don’t score enough goals though.. imagine if we were a team that scored goals..

Well that was fucking dreadful. Should have been 6 or 7.

Nothing more to add.

If it wasn't offensive and denigrating to pub teams in general I would say Cox has turned us into one. A very poor one at that.

Those sort of games go one of two ways... they either descend into frustration, culminating in an inevitable red card and narrow away win, or you get an early goal and force a stubborn defence to open up. Fortunately this was the latter.

I thought Ebbsfleet were at least competitive in the first half, but just gave up in the second and made it easy for us to see the game out. A routine win in the end, and (I think) the squad made it through unscathed.

Next.

I've never seen a taller side than that. None of them could play a jot, just all big lumps there to cause a nuisance from set pieces.

Spot on - except they don't.
All the footballers in the squad have been frozen out.

Brought in a good manager & spent loads on new players, yet you don't seem to be improving one bit.
What the heck is going wrong?? i thought Cox would get you out of this mess

Canny win for me favourite Welsh lads, Wrecsam. At Pools like, I aalmost signed Quigaz, knaa him like the front of me centre partin’. Had him watched geet loads of times, he was aalmost as good as a woz at TNS. And aye he was up for the move here but I wanted him in at right back, coz me stats tell us that lads of his stature and jaw line perform betta in a deepa wing back role. In the end, a woz disappointed he said nah on the phone like, a told him that stats neva eva lie but he hung up on us. Why was Devs not at left back? Nee wonda Keatesy’s not won as much as us

Am in this game to set new trends pal, a take the best of forma ages and combine it with a modern slick style just like in me day job. A play wingaz as full backs, 3 short arses in midfield, none of them to tackle as I divvant like me team commiting much in the challenge as it comprises our shape. And a like a couple of strikaz on the flanks, neewhere near the lone wolf up top, sniffin oot the whole host of chancaz me sides create in our system. People will be copyin me in a few year son, mark me words.

With this run Tranmere are on it's a shame they didn't have Mellon in charge from the start of the season or they'd be pissing this league now.

We had to give everyone the 11 game head start to make it interesting. If we'd played like this all season that'd be a bit boring wouldnt it?

Almost an entirely new team of players over a very short period of time. No continuity, constantly changing both personnel and formation. New players have no affinity with the club, each other or the fans = no team spirit.
It's like preseason all over again. The football is awful to watch and the results are worse than before the change. There is no upside to this at the moment, and no sign of making the step up necessary to be competitive in this league.
All costing an absolute fortune which brings concerns we've not had in the past.

Why? Your directors are writing the cheques on their own accounts, not your clubs. This is rather the point of sugar daddies, is it not? It's THEIR money, not yours. :£:£:£

Finally home.

What have I just seen there? :eye:

Our last 8 at home we have battered everyone tbh mate, only the daggers conceded less then 3 to us, without being smug i have come out of every game thinking how was that only 3,4 exc .

Fleets biggest problems were the centre backs cook murdered them first half number 4 was picking him up and was losing every battle so they swapped and put number 5 on him who was only marginally better, the backing off for the first 2 goals was criminal , kedwell was left isolated against mcnulty and just gave in and your midfield were so busy kicking harris and norburn they forgot they could actually play a bit and just didnt bother.... strange performance from fleet.

They tried to play a high line and compact the midfield but Cook won every header, so their defence dropped deeper and deeper, it was game over when they did that. Freed up the space for Jennings and Norburn to pass the ball around them.

Ebbsfleet played some decent football in the reverse fixture, so I was surprised at their approach yesterday. They just seemed intent on kicking us from the first minute. Their manager seemed very hyped up last week, so I wonder if that was transmitted to the players ?

If they had played some football they might still have lost, but it would have been a more worthwhile trip for their supporters.
