Almost an entirely new team of players over a very short period of time. No continuity, constantly changing both personnel and formation. New players have no affinity with the club, each other or the fans = no team spirit.
It's like preseason all over again. The football is awful to watch and the results are worse than before the change. There is no upside to this at the moment, and no sign of making the step up necessary to be competitive in this league.
All costing an absolute fortune which brings concerns we've not had in the past.
Sounds just like us when we were relegated from League Two under Micky Adams. Chairmen often think throwing money at a struggling team is the answer, but the lack of continuity and team spirit often makes things worse.

They tried to play a high line and compact the midfield but Cook won every header, so their defence dropped deeper and deeper, it was game over when they did that. Freed up the space for Jennings and Norburn to pass the ball around them.
Couldn't believe how high they were playing at one point in the first half. I joked at the time that it was because they knew Norwood couldn't score 1 on 1s, but then he went and finished one.

Our last 8 at home we have battered everyone tbh mate, only the daggers conceded less then 3 to us, without being smug i have come out of every game thinking how was that only 3,4 exc .

Fleets biggest problems were the centre backs cook murdered them first half number 4 was picking him up and was losing every battle so they swapped and put number 5 on him who was only marginally better, the backing off for the first 2 goals was criminal , kedwell was left isolated against mcnulty and just gave in and your midfield were so busy kicking harris and norburn they forgot they could actually play a bit and just didnt bother.... strange performance from fleet.

I was on about the posts above, but thanks for reminding me! ;)

You were good. Should have been 6 or 7 and would have been had it not been for Ashmore.

Bush should be nowhere near our side, he might as well have been playing for you guys yesterday. As I said on our forum, the aggressive and niggly play yesterday isn't normally a trait of ours if I'm honest. Was surprised to see it, and was just waiting for the cards to come out. The elbow on Kedders should have been seen though!

We're in a rut, but we've got some favourable games coming up. We're in no danger of going down, but we need to start picking up some points again.

Seems like you’re doing what Chester did last season; edge of the playoffs but then collapsing once safe from relegation / safe contracts. You’ll need to turn that around or risk it running into next season.

This is where McMahon needs to get it right. We're about 5 or 6 players short of a side able to compete for the play offs, which is the aim going forward. He needs to get his player recruitment spot on. We don't have that big a squad at the moment and we've had to constantly chop and change because of injuries, so pre season is huge for us. At the start of the season I said I'd be happy with mid table, and that is pretty much what we are, so I'm not concerned just yet!

Last Saturday and yesterday was atrocious though, no two ways about it. In fact, 2018 has been awful.

Missed the elbow on kedwell . Saw the blatant elbow that Norwood was booked for and I was bout 40 yards from it in the town paddock ( far right of the main stand as you looked joe) . I was surprised when he exploded it was that obvious.

Any news on what happened over alabi yet? You would probably get him for about 10 to 15 k

The elbow on Keds would have been a red had it been spotted I reckon, but it wouldn't have affected anything. You were a class above us, and more.

No idea about Alabi. By the sounds of it he had agreed terms with us, so I'm not sure who pulled out.

McMahon has gone on record saying he's tried signing players but they're asking for extortionate amounts. Genuinely don't know what's going on. The last thing we want to do is sign players for the sake of it. Jamie Day tried that around this time a few seasons ago. We went from fourth and a chance of promotion to eighth and with a side that looked like they'd never played together before.

Might have been a case of unable to agree a fee. Tranmere offered 12k for Alabi, Chester wanted 40k. Tribunal probably won’t care and will just split it down the middle. Unlikely you’d want to pay 26k for a player?

I really don't know mate. We paid 13k for McMahon back in 2013 and a nominal fee for Ashmore. Other than that, we've not really spent in terms of fees.

We rejected a 50k bid for Ashmore in January too.

It is clear we need a second striker, but in the games we've lost a second striker wouldn't help. Our midfield aren't creating the chances.

Exactly whats happened to us.
Southwell was rumoured to have talked to Fylde before signing for us but they sent him on his way as he was after £1200/ week. We're probably paying it!

Drew 2 all with Eastleigh, strange game yesterday. For the first 20, 25 minutes it was all Eastleigh and they looked as good as any side I’ve seen this season. They go one nil up and that kicked us into gear. We got the ball down and started playing, 4 or 5 really good chances were squandered before we scored. It was one way traffic and just a case of when we got our second rather than if. They then break and score completely out of the blue before we equalised.

Bloody freezing as well

Before the game I was reading about how Cox is repeatedly chopping and changing starting 11s and formations. And throwing newly signed players in. It's barmy that's never going to work and it's not like he's an inexperienced manager.

One of the things I like about how Keates has gone about rebuilding us is how methodical he is with signing players. He identifies people he wants and first and foremost their character and how they will.integrate into the squad. He s frequently had player training with us for a while before they sign. Where signings have happened quicker someone at the club knows them. It's paying dividends even though at times the process seems interminable, or a deal is chased for a long time and doesn't off.

I'd say Wrexham's style is exactly what's required to be successful in this league. Quick accurate passing and movement gets you up the pitch in a flash without risking possession. Nothing fancy going on, you play simply but well. Out of possession you hunt in packs and give no time or space to the opposition. You get down, dirty and ugly when required without resorting to fouling very much. For all the balls we put in your box our height advantage was ineffective.
I'd be very happy with that if I was a Wrexham fan.

The tone was set when the ref failed to administer any sanction for the wild, studs showing challenge on Harris in the opening minutes. After that, both sides got away with relative murder.

Well, Wedgbury does. Probably our player of the season so far I'd say and a big reason behind our defensive record.

We seem to be a bit hush hush as to who we'r after. No rumours whatsoever. Perhaps we're not even after anybody and are reducing the budget!

Nobody knows.

He certainly made a few timely blocks to shots on the few occasions we got in the box.
