Well I got a feeling that we were due a matchday go in our favour and thought we might stretch our lead but never in those circumstances.

Surely we beat Chester in much more normal fashion on Monday? If we did and were still 6 points clear with just 6 remaining for Sutton, I'd finally think we're getting close to putting fingers on the title. 78 points now, 4 wins from our remaining 6 would surely do it?

Joey fucking Jones i'm so done with this football shit, what a gift which will probably send us down. 2nd in October, now on the brink of relegation.

I urge everyone to watch the goal Guiseley scored against us, one of the greatest own goals of the season, they’d had 0 shots in the whole second half at that point as well.

Second half was a routine win after the Guiseley keeper was sent off, despite dominating possession, we offered little against a stubborn Guiseley in the first half. Jobi McAnuff was our stand out player who scored a peach of a free kick.

95% safe with 50 points and in 12th place, let the good times role. :bdick:

No way... was it?!?

The point is we won 9 out of the first 15 games, and 3 out of the next 25 games, do you see a difference???

The ref tried his best, but couldn't get Wrexham over the line. The worst officiating I've seen at Hayes Lane since the Braintree game last season.

Edit: I've looked up the ref and he is the same one as the Braintree game last season. David Rock is a **** of epic proportions, the non league Stuart Atwell.

Nope just see you getting carried away that what was happening in October has any relevance to now, like it was recent form or something.

While it was pretty stupid by your defender(s) I wouldn't really call it a gift as in even slightly less sodden conditions Marsh's shot goes in. If we'd been denied the win by the mud we would be more pissed off than you are now.

Disappointing to lose to such a shit side, today. Aside from 2 soft goals Jonno hasn't had a shot to save.

Oh and what a soulless, dispiriting place - these flat pack so-called stadiums that the Tin-Pot-Ego-Trip outfits seem to prefer are a perfect match and metaphor for the whole concept. Whatever noise there is seems to evaporate into thin air as soon as it is made. Wouldn't have one as a gift. :bdick:

You're right it's just frustrating knowing it could have been avoided if Joey was concentrating, your player reacted and ours didn't. But of course no doubt it would have gone in had the weather conditions been better.

Feels like the football on offer today was so bad that it's distracted us from talking about what an awful little racket AFC Fylde are.

You arrive with 15 minutes to spare, and you enter the ground 15 minutes into the match. Sure you didn't buy advance tickets, but why should you? Members of your party can come in or pull out with no notice and they've made £16 out of you instantly, or made you queue for 30 minutes anyway.

To the knaves who didn't buy in advance, for some reason only known to Flyde they have you queueing for a ticket office so you can scan a bar code into an automatic reader, saving the hassle of having manned turnstiles when you can have four orange fluorescent monkeys show you where to scan the ticket instead. As soon as you've passed the security frotteurs and the sniffer dog anyway.

Flyde have fluffed themselves up as a football league club to be since their inception (2008/09?). (They got 200 in when we took 500 over there in 2009/10, meaning that 500 Shaymen have been watching AFC Flyde longer than 90% of their own "fans".) Us, Grimsby, Bury, Lincoln, Tranmere, whoever... you go to the turnstiles, tell the attendee who you are and click right through. 1,500 there or 8,000, it's no hassle. If there is crowd congestion, you delay the game. Nope, not at Flyde. From one long queue to another and you miss a few quid's worth of game that you travelled two and a half hours for.

But they do have a suited and booted club official pacing up and down the queue to let you know what's what. In his shoes you can't win, unless you concede that your club should do the one sensible thing and see if you have any fans who can man the turnstiles the old fashioned way. But instead he tells you that this way of getting into grounds is "the future", we'll all be doing it in ten years, "we can have a debate on this if you want", "you should have ordered beforehand", "Chorley brought more and they were fine", and the one that made me want to Yosser Hughes him to the ground: "you should've set off half an hour earlier". What a smarmy, jumped up set of onanists they have running their club.

Seven figures on their squad, eight figures on their ground. Millions no doubt spent elsewhere as well as getting those disillusioned Preston and Blackpool fans through your turnstiles while you still can. Not enough to run turnstiles, not enough to do the logistics for a bogstandard Conference game, not enough to put soap in the bogs. Sure, Financial Fair Play in the football league isn't a perfect system, but clubs who won promotion into it through huge off-field funding have struggled where others haven't. It'll happen to them if it comes.

Full #respect to the Shots fans who travelled much further than us recently for an even more dismal performance, all in that godforsaken place!

The Shay is a REAL football ground, steeped in almost 100 years of Shaymen history. If you listen carefully you can still hear the echoes of the near 40,000 who watched us play Tottenham in the FA Cup, the 35,000 who saw us beat Stoke, the 20,000 who roared us on to beat Best, Law and Charlton in the Watney Cup. The mud you can see there at this time of year is the same mud that Paul Hendrie scuffed past Joe Corrigan, along with the ball in 1980. When the Shay gets going, and you don't need many in it to get it going, there is no place like it outside the top tier. We are a REAL football club playing in a REAL football stadium, something an outfit like yours can NEVER be. If you're confused about that, here's what it looks like:

All bow to King Palios.

Not the point mate, if your chairman asked for an explaination of why a match 300 miles away was called off with 90 minutes notice you would expect the courtesy of an explaination on behalf of the league as to what the process was , you wouldnt just block them with no explaination.... its a manners thing not a status thing

How DARE he block the ex-chairman of the FA on twitter. “DO YOU NOT KNOW WHO I AM?” He’s not royalty.

You’re a strange one aren’t you?

Our players weren't too happy with the penalty decision I believe. From what the commentary seemed to indicate, the ref was shite not biased. Another example was that it appeared he only booked wedgebury due to pressure from Bromley players. .. which is just weak and crap ..but sadly the norm down here.

Not sure if it changed before or after you came down but, even with this considered, the league Twitter is 1000x better/less tinpot than the shambles it was a few years back.

I don’t understand why Halifax didn’t play Denton. Fair enough he’s a big lump but he suits the way Halifax play and always causes us problems

Half of them were Town fans too. Once saw a ref get decked there as he walked through the crowd to the dressing rooms after almost penalising Fax out of beating Salford. Biggest crowd there nowhere near our best though.:bdick:

Used to be run by that Colin Peake clown didn't it? It was the most unprofessional thing you've ever seen but it's marginally better now.

By the way, the Shayman who found the "mots juste", when he told Fidle's no9, "fuck off Rowe, you jug eared c***", spoke, I think, for us all. Well said that man. :ds:

Im so suprised mr bentham hasnt had the same treatment at st helens... he gives us nothing time and time again, if he had reffed today he would have sent barbas try upstairs in the hope of something cropping up.

We need a strong fax back in superleague mate....but not as strong as andersons 1986 team lol .
