Never quite understood how that stand cost close to 5 million quid

5 million?! It's just a big empty box with a roof that doesn't cover anything.

Will cost them a bit more as at least 3 of the big external windows have been put through

Massive result for Mellon in particular. Norwood has done that so many times, never seems to score a meaningless goal. With 4 players signing on loan this week, looks like Mellon is here for the foreseeable. How we are only 8 points from the top is a total mystery, but it's a point closer than we started the day so I'll take it.

Long way to go though and do fear Leyton Orient's pace could see to us on Wednesday.

Your defending cannot be any worse than ours. Plus we create chances but fail to take them. I will be amazed if we get anything to be honest, at least you lot are solid at the back! Only 8 goals conceded!

It's not that we're poor at defending - we're not, we're actually very good and have been since we came down. However, we are very vulnerable against pace. From what I've seen of Orient this season, if you've got one thing going forward it's pace.

Not confident at all.

We have the third best defence in the league... and the second worst attack!

Hilarious that everyone now realises how bad this division is. I've been saying it for years while everyone else believed that "it's getting better every season".

All the years people were clamouring for a 3rd promotion position, I'd now be looking at taking one away considering the quality of the league. Even 2 this season. Or perhaps it's going to take a Dover champions, Maidenhead playoff winner nightmare scenario in order for the Football League to slam the door shut, to save further embarrassment. As we all know, it would RUIN Dover if they got promotion, it's literally the last thing their owner wants to happen.

#MaccAttack right up there, wanting to follow us. Again.

Mind you, this seems to happen every season. Start well and end up around mid-table after a poor middle spell.

The third promotion place has always been a load of bollocks.

There was a bottle neck 5(?) years back, but that's disappeared. The best thing we did was not get involved in any of that and purposefully remain in lower mid-table until it was our time to pounce...

Less said about Eastleigh the better, absolute shambles.

My train wasn't far from Woking when our game got called off so took in the game v Hartlepool. Decent away performance from Hartlepool, grew in confidence after the opener. Woking were pretty poor in my opinion, had the better chances though and should have won it at the end.

Lance Stoe would spontaneously combust I think.

We're playing with our second choice left winger and a centre mid from Staines up front, a centre mid on the right, and our backup holding mid from last season starts every game. We've lost a player who scored 44 goals last season.

We're also a point off the playoffs and three off top spot.

It would be hilarious if we went up - we're playing way above what I'd expect given the very small squad and several players playing outside their usual position, but if this division was anything like what it was a few years back we'd be nowhere.

Would have taken a point before kickoff and to grab one so late when I was resigned to 'one of those days'.

The Wrexham goal was a combination of great play on the counter and abysmal defending. For the most part it looked as though Wrexham were happy with one.

Layfaette worked hard up front with little reward (and at times protection from the officials) so his fantastic strike at the end was even more beautiful.

The number of late goals we score is very pleasing

Lafayette is embarrassing. For such a big bloke to fall to the floor whenever anyone is within a few yards of him is laughable. And the referee fell for it every time.

His goal was a peach but I hate that guy.

Disappointing to concede so late on and I do think we were the better side but Sutton weren't bad and always threatened to get somryjjng., they don't look like a side in top spot but you could see them making the play offs. A good mix of physicality and a bit of skill....although they have the fattest back four I've seen this year (And I've seen Tranmere)

For the most part Ross had Wrexham players arms around him, plus the sly pushes (and yes I know Sutton are not paragons of virtue in this regard). However to suggest that the referee bought 'it everytime' isn't an exaggeration it ignores the number of actual fouls the ref let go. But this afternoon was a perfect example of why Sutton United FC employ him. He annoys the opposition and scores a wonder goal.

Loved my trip to the Racecourse. A proper stadium. And when they get going the Wrexham fans are bloody loud. Great defensive unit as well.

Thought we played well for 45 mins today. Then didn't turn up for second half. Maidstone were decent enough, and scored a penalty, but probably didn't deserve three points.

We're really struggling to get shots away though and could be in a real relegation battle.

Fair play for coming to the game. Everyone we've played so far has said we've been the worst team they've seen or as you say were pretty poor, yet we're still plucking along pulling out results. Imagine the scenes if that effiong shot had gone in at the end, wowwww.

Missed our goal by the way, was in the bar :bravo:

I should be coming to yours on Tuesday, please don't do an Eastleigh haha!!

Poor is a bit harsh on reflection, on today's showing you're in no danger but no threat at the top end either. Quality of the league more than anything on the initial shout.

There's a whole long discussion on their hidden forum moaning about the new main stand and hotel ends. Poor design by people who don't understand football, but it's hard to complain about benefactors who save your club from extinction by investing millions.

Exactly that, to be honest. It's the same architects who did Dartford, so no surprise to see the new main stand look pretty similar to Dartford!

The guy saved us, we're in no position to complain but it is a bit shit to see the ground going the way it is.

As for the trumpet and bell... less said the better. Cannot stand them.

Anyway, glad to have heard we won. Back to back for the first time this season. I saw a 47 year old Pierre Van Hooijdonk turn out in the Dutch tenth division and ADO Den Haag steal three points at NAC.

Up the Fleet.

He loves a fall to the deck, I remember him doing it all the time for Welling years ago. The goal was unbelievable and had to be to get through our defence and past a quality keeper like Coddington. We obviously should have killed the game off but solid team are Sutton and wouldn't be surprised to see you in the playoffs at the end.

Feel for the Chester fans. The farce on the opening day at Solihull and now yesterday at Eastleigh and we are only in the first week of October.

Ours cost same and seats 3500! Apparently same architect as Dartford, which explains the pointless roofs- how do they keep getting away with this?

Anyway, glad to have heard we won.

I suspect the rest of that paragraph might answer your question?

A point at Woking is not awful in the general context I suppose. Still taking me a while to adjust to being happy with drawing at some of these teams though but it is what it is and just have to get on with it in the hope we will kick on at some stage. I do think we are just a slightly above average Conference side but it was never going to be a walk in the park down here
