Looks like our failure to sign a good striker over summer will cost us again - Rendell & McClure won't score more than 10 each this season, and Okojie isn't Conference standard.
We need Mensah and Bobby-Joe back as we have very little creativity and flair.
Two tough games this week, Daggers at home then a trip to Maidenhead who are flying.

Feel for the Chester fans. The farce on the opening day at Solihull and now yesterday at Eastleigh and we are only in the first week of October.

... and for the first time this season there was expectation of not losing after unloading an absolute disaster of a manager.

I wasn't there, but apparently we were dreadful. That's not at all representative of how we've played this season though. Our only defeat by more than one goal this season.

Congratulations to champions Dover Athletic?

I think Torquay will make a fight of it. We weren't great yesterday but they weren't bad. They certainly look as if they're improving. I think Rhys Murphy and Josh McQuoid will score a few at this level. McQuioid did miss an unbelievable sitter yesterday mind. I also think Owers is a sensible choice. I was expecting them to get someone who had either been out of work for a while or who had had a string of failures and had plummetted down the leagues. Instead, they got someone who has done there time at numerous clubs down here and who was doing a solid job at Bath.

We'd have lost that at the start of the season. Our record against the tinpot sides is awful and it's largely been down to attitude and errors borne out of complacency. That side has improved recently but can't be happy with 18th place. Still lots of work to do.
