Wrexham County tomorrow should be a good one
A 6000+ crowd likely as well. I think we should have enough for Notts County, but their players will be more familiar with one another and could make it tricky for us. Not to mention Burchall is the trendiest manager on the planet and their set piece coach should be enough to counter Tozer's throw-ins.

After a good result yesterday this is exactly the type of game we mess up and put in a crap performance, particularly on TV. Hopefully New Wrexham isn't like Old Wrexham.

It should, I'd snatch your hand off for a point.
I worry that our keeper , centre half pairing in front and holding midfielder Francis are going to get bullied into mistakes.
Them strikers are a worry against anyone aren't they, you might not be able to stop them but could outscore them maybe

John McAtee is going to ruin some Saturday afternoons for a few people on this forum, a proper player.

If Weymouth don’t get relegated then I can’t wait to play whoever finishes below them

Wrexham unchanged? I think we’ll rest one of Roberts or Rodrigues and they’ll start on the bench. Burchnall said some rotation was inevitable. Joel Taylor may well come back in for Chicksen and Alex Lacey may start.

Would be happy with a point.

I’d be surprised if Roberts started again having played two 90s, but he’s looked fine so maybe we’re just feeling over cautious. Burchnall pretty much said in his post-match that Taylor will come back in. I’d expect O’Brien to start this one in place of either Roberts or Rodrigues.

In the main id expect us to be unchanged. A lot will depend on reactions to yesterday and the long journey we had back from Eastleigh. It was Laintons first game back, and Lennon had been out for a while too so will be interesting to see if those two will play. I suspect MacAlinden would have played yesterday but he was unwell so he may be in with a shout if fit.

I want nothing less than a win!

I think Francis has to be in contention for being dropped. He reminds me of Andre Boucard or Mark Fotheringham in that he looks silky enough but doesn't really offer enough bite to stop other teams playing round him.
It's going to be hostile tomorrow and unless some of our players man up we could get swamped from nothing much beyond decent balls being pumped into our box.

I think Francis needs a bit of time. He's been very hit or miss so far, was excellent at Barnet and poor yesterday, but the only way he's going to get used to the physicality of men's football is by playing. It's the position I'm most worried about, but he needs ten games or so before we start panicking IMO. I would definitely be bringing O'Brien in to firm things up a bit around him for this one, though. Probably hold Roberts back for the last half an hour, it's all gone well on that front but don't want to push our luck.

On the subject of ‘game management’ or ‘time wasting’ as it used to be called, what happened to refs only stopping play for suspected head injuries, or telling players who go down near the touch line to get off the pitch? Neither of these seems to happen anymore, certainly not in this league.

Obviously none of us mind when it works for our team, but generally fans are being robbed, ROBBED I tell ya of football which they’ve paid decent money for.

Surprised its not a 12.30 ko - biggest clubs in the League, bank holiday. We've already had Halifax on Boxing Day moved.

We are the persecuted, let's have a protest - 3pms for Grimsby...

Learnt a few things about this league since our return, firstly the refs are still shit but secondly, the league are so incompetent they’ve somehow managed to fuck up on how and when clubs can show highlights of their own games. Incredibly incompetent

Agreed. Probably both of those players are strikers. Yours were both fairly useless yesterday. I liked your midfielder Dyer and your lanky centre half Cook, his telescopic legs stopped two potential goal scoring opportunities for us.

We did enough. Wasn’t overly impressed with us but we had two injuries and i think we had another gear in us if necessary. Khan was looking great in midfield until he had to come off at HT and our defence looked solid, too many gaps in midfield though and Rowe (striker not manager) had an off day.
Alot of work going on behind the scenes to strengthen in attacking positions.

The NL stats make interesting reading. We had 55% possession yesterday and 9 shots v 7 for Chesterfield. So technically our manager was right in his post match interview when he said we dominated the game. We had 67% possession against Woking last week too, have to turn it into goals.

Did you go and if so, do you think you dominated the game? I really can’t imagine a neutral watching that yesterday and coming away thinking you had dominated us. You passed it nicely in areas which didn’t hurt us which Rowe confirmed in his post match interview that was the plan. You had one decent chance, a header from a free kick. If we’d been dominated I’d have expected to concede at least a couple of clear cut chances and I’m not sure you can claim 10% more possession or more shots equals domination either. In the kindest possible way, I think your gaffer is talking out his ring piece.

He was, I can only assume it was the emotion just after full time, the home and away figures are deflated and inflated respectively.

There was a moment in the second half where Alex Dyer had got by 2 or 3 Chesterfield players on the byline and had a simple pass through to Fasanmade who was through on goal, he just made the wrong decision trying to play it through to Umerah.

I can’t say we deserved a point when I can only remember two shots on target (apparently we had 3) but I’m confident we’ll pick up points if we can translate those second half performances from those first 2 games across 90 minutes. Plus bringing in another striker will help.

Jack Clarke was a real pest throughout the whole game but his movement in the first half down that left hand side alongside Khan, Miller and Rowe was causing our defensive shape all kinds of problems.
