Another 9000+ crowd on Saturday. And the atmosphere should be amazing with Rob and Ryan there.
Hopefully we can play for 90 minutes which we haven't done yet this season.
Torquay will be tough to beat they were excellent last season

I seen Rowe outside Nonnas earlier today and he looked chipper enough to me! Hopefully he'll play and we'll be down to just the 9 injured players

I also think Gunning might play. He'll rock up with one of those Rey Mysterio face masks and play through it, tough dude
Apparently he was having some tests so could be something under the surface. Hopefully nothing serious and he links up with Tshimanga on Saturday.

Stephan Payne does a lot of running and creates space but let’s be honest Danny Rowe is streets ahead of him.

Scan on McAtee’s knee, Hurst didn’t sound too hopeful to be honest. If he’s fit, 1-0 Town. If not, 1-2 Notts. Or 1-1.

I can’t believe John Lewis is still playing let alone in contention for a decent side. Feels like he’s been round for years, he must be about 83. Apparently though he’s never undersold in contract negotiations hehehe.

I always feel like the Notts Eeyore on here so no confidence of a win. People thought we did well at Wrexham but I thought we were a bit passive against them and gave up a lot of chances, so hope for better here. Is that bar in the away end still open?
Yep, just checked with our SLO and she said it's open. Thought it would be bit you never know with big away followings.

If there are two things you can rely on Hurst for it is to never confirm any transfer rumours and to never admit a potentially injured player is fit when they are.

He’s not the most engaging speaker is he old Hursty. Found the bit on us interesting, to be honest he seemed to be preparing their fans for a game where they sit back and let us have the ball, but I’m pretty sure he’s too good of a manager to do that.

Bloody hell, if you think he's not engaging and a bit dry this time round that's a sign that you weren't down here in our first stint! He used to get a fair amount of stick for this before, but I never agreed with it really. I think he's very articulate and doesn't talk much shite. With regards to the content, he's merely feeding information into your big computer to affect your tactics.

He’s got a very dour voice, probably not his fault. I’m just used to Ardley and now Burchnall who are both really cheerful and enthusiastic in interviews.

I don't recall ever having a cheerful manager! Russell Slade had his moments but other than that our managers are always a bit dour and/or stern. Hurst is definitely in that mould too.

Unfortunately i cant get up to see Hollywood match. We are obviously not the same side you played last season. We will certainly be happy with a point. I see Hosannah is suspended for three games, no chance of you recinding that decision? As on youtube its Mullin who is the culprit. No chance it will be changed over. Im sure Wrexham are pissing them selves next 3 games. Sorry son , you have to serve the ban undoubtedly being said

The only way BT Sport could have picked a worse game for this weekend was if we were playing Dover.

Result will depend on whether we turn up, if we don't its a 2-0 Barnet win. If we do it will be a 2-1 Barnet win. Oh and at least 1 of the goals will be a defensive howler

That is a weird interview. Sounds like the geezer won’t be happy until Hurst has told him both the starting XI for Saturday and what his Missus is up to on Friday night.

Good and bad time to be playing Chesterfield. Their injury list gives us hope but then I think us missing McCallum, Walker and from what I hear Matt Robinson has racked up a 1 game ban for 5 yellow cards. 3 huge players to be missing. Going to need a very very good performance to get anything. Not sure we're in the right form to be beating them right now.
We're on our knees so to speak.

Gunning has a fractured eye socket and needs surgery apparently so another one to the list. I think it's about 10 out, most of whom would start for us in normal times. We might even struggle to fill the bench tomorrow without kids if Danny Rowe or Tyson aren't fit enough.

1-1 - with a very decent 600 odd in the away end.

We spent a year with Ian Holloway in charge, Hursts nature is a welcome change.

He’s far more upbeat these days actually and it’s reflected on the pitch, he’s clearly really enjoying it

Having listened to Hursty's interview I have concluded the following:
  • We're gonna press like we've never pressed before
  • Taylor, McAtee and Efete are all fit and will start
Absolute mind games afoot here. He managed to sidestep Matt Dean's question about whether any of the COVID players are back with all the aplomb of a top featherweight boxer by turning his answer into a response about the players that are properly injured.

Hurst isn’t stupid, he’ll have watched us and worked out that you have to press us. I’m not sure Notts are the best target for mind games though, we don’t appear to pay a great deal of attention to the opposition because #WeWantToPlayOurOwnGame.

Haha yeah, I'm only joking really. I guess what I'm trying to insinuate is that Hurst can do a 10 minute interview that talks quite heavily about a subject yet still reveal very little.

We've got 10 out mate, don't go wild.

I'd take a point and run tomorrow.

I’ve only had Boreham wood. Try to just back one team tbh. 10 out explains the big odds then. I’d say Boreham Wood should be 1/2 tomorrow and I’ve got them at 4/5

12/5 the draw probs a better bet. We have tonnes of injuries and captain Gunning is out now with a fractured eye socket and broken nose.

Torquay are a different animal this season, Although it should be a good measure of your progression.
I think its one that you must win to start the ball rolling, Good luck.
A good two months into the season, Now,s the time to build momentum.

Maybe Ron Martin can use some tips for his upcoming fraud case

Are you being serious. Just turn up... the points are yours for the taking. We may have been 'excellent' last season but from what I've seen this season - Maidenhead (2nd half), Boreham Wood, Bromley, and, yes, Havant & Waterlooville – all you need to do is walk the ball towards goal and watch as our midfield fall over for no apparent reason (Little), amble towards the penalty area as only one of our defenders (Lewis) will even bother to try and get anywhere near you... and shoot. You may not score with every attack, but to every Gulls fan who has the misfortune of being there on Saturday we just know that at least 2 of the 30-odd shots will nestle in the back of the net. We'll start playing (or might not) for the last 10 minutes when we realise we're actually fucking losing (again)...
