It would feel like going out with a bit of a whimper and stumble won't it if we miss out now... Which is just bonkers when not that long ago we were staring down the North. You'd have to say this season is a success either way, but to miss out would be crap.

For the honour of the brotherhood of BELTS we can't let Bromley, in particular, and Halifax in the play offs. Two of Wrexham, Chesterfield or Notts have to make it in.

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
So glad I didn’t pay for that one, couldn’t resist listening in on the radio, however. Dead rubber at the fag -end of the season, but surely players are looking for a contract...or maybe not.

Fair play to Bassey - he’s restoring a bit of pride after a shambolic season.

We might even not finish bottom if this form continues! Remarkable.

Got our biggest win of the season 3-0, now won 3 in a row very unheard of in these parts. Barnet, Woking and Wealdstone up next three.

My vocabulary does not posses the words to describe how I feel about that showing today. Yes, we can legitimately moan about how offside Barnett was in the buildup to the goal. But that would be a total distraction to how poor we were in the 2nd half, and we got what we deserved out of that.

Notts easily the better team today but this side just never gives in. No matter how poorly they seem to be playing they keep working and sheer guts gets us so many late goals. That's the 22nd point we've earned from goals in the last 10 minutes of matches (and the 10th point won in injury time).

We are a good counter point. No matter how well we seem to be playing, we will find a way to give in and concede a late goal from some kind of corner or long throw.

Who’s winning it from here? If I was to bet on it with the games remaining, I’d take Stockport

We've only won more than 2 games in a row once this season, and that was right at the start of the season. The only chance we have of winning the league is to win every game. 8 wins a row would be an anomaly to our season. Our aim for the season should be to keep our building our form and continuity as a team to hit the play-off games running.

I still reckon if we win our last 6 we'll win the league but the next two are tough with big- spending-furloughers Chesterfield at home and then Bromley away.

Definitely missed a trick not playing Weymouth today.

Agreed but injuries haven't helped have they. A fit Hollis, McCourt & Asante over the last 3/4 games we would still be firmly in the play offs IMO.

I thought Sutton were nailed on to win the league, but it seems to be unraveling now & I ruled Pools out,but I think we have a chance now.
I still think it’s one of the top three, but it’s going to go down to the wire.

No our players are fucked aren't they. Mccourt feels like a big miss tbh. He's someone with a key to a lock.

I'm worried that we'll keep Keates on if we make it in. It makes me not that fussed at all whether we do or not.

Didn’t realise Sutton lost again yesterday, their bottle has gone completely now the pressure is on. Having said that they have by far the easiest run in, that game in May vs Pools is a big one, who ever loses that could lose momentum for the play offs. Stockport have too much to do and Torquay seem a bit erratic for a run but looking at the form table you wouldn’t think so over the last 10.

My bet is Pools for the title and Stockport for play offs.

I've got faith we have football people advising R&R, surely to god they will thank him for his time and move him on.

If he has a healthy budget next season we will end up with a squad of 2 Keepers 20 defenders 4 midfielders and 2 Forwards (one of whom is a winger)

It was pure unadulterated Keatesball. Disgusting and we stank the place out again.

Hopefully we start sliding down the table now, as we can’t move on until Bobby Davro is shown the door.

That was an un-Aldershot like result, comfortable 2-0 in the end and could have scored 5. Wealdstone tried hard but lacked quality in key areas

Yup, sounds like Jake Askew made a couple of great saves in that second half but yet again we’ve been undone by a horrific error at the back.

Still think we only have a slim chance of finishing top, rest of the top 4 all play Tuesday and have winnable games so we're gonna need another slip up from them at some point.

Saying that if we get 6 points from Chesterfield and Bromley I'm putting my cock on the block and saying we'll win the league.

We've got our eyes resolutely on 6th or 7th, so we can play away at Chesterfield or Wrexham, then again at Torquay or Hartlepool, then beat any one of them at Wembley. We've got a 100% record there, you know. :ds:

I think it's less bottle going and more to do squad depth. Sutton can't just go and buy a Paddy Madden. We (Notts) brought in a keeper this week because the manager didn't fancy our reserve keeper. We didn't have to but could afford to and although we're not challenging for top spot, that ability to spend has a bearing over the season to the detriment of less well funded clubs.

We dont have a strong enough squad to finish in the playoffs so I dont think we will.
However we are surrounded by poor teams who are also inconsistent so anything is possible!
In fact the only teams that have impressed me this season are Stockport who are miles better than us and Hartlepools who we managed to get 4 points off!
Looking at everyone's fixtures its Sutton to win league ( unless they deliberately sabotage)
And Stockport to win playoffs.

We’ve ran out of steam/peaked too early/hit a brick wall*. *delete as appropriate

We’ve got Bromley, Hartlepool and Torquay next 3 and we need to win 2 of them to keep in touch really.
Tuesday at Bromley is the biggest game of our season in reality, have to win that really given the ground we’ve given up to them and Halifax in the last 4 games.

Obviously disappointing to concede so late on, but a vastly improved performance, one of the season’s best, probably helped by Burchnall having a full week with the players. There have even been some vaguely positive comments on Notts County social media! Alongside the usual bonkers ones (latest is someone complaining about his hair).

Frustratingly Torquay’s equaliser sent us from 6th to 9th. It’s horribly close in the race for 5th/6th/7th (top 4 is surely sorted, just not in order yet), we play Eastleigh just behind us on Tuesday where a point wouldn’t be a disaster, before having to aim for all 3 against Alty next weekend.

I say if Fleur sacks him in her first week we commission a bronze statue of her behind our new shiny Kop.

I said before this run of games we'd do well to last the pace and so it has proved. Just finishing in the top 7 would be an achievement, but we have to give the play offs a damn good go if we do manage to sneak in there.

The thing is, if we can some how manage to pick up a minimum 4/5 points from these next 3 tough games then we’ve got a run of 4 games that are more than winnable before the potential decider against Halifax in the last game of the season

On one hand you could say playing the teams around you like we’ll be doing in these next 3 could actually be a positive, because if you win it’s a 6 pointer, draw and atleast no one is gaining on you... but obviously if you lose it’s then difficult to come back from so no doubt every game will be a cagey one
