6 games between the 2 sides, Alty won 2, 3 draws, 1 big Grimsby win.
Very much looking forward to it, always a pleasantly boisterous atmosphere when Grimsby come.
Yeah I fancied this one myself but a combination of feeling like shit with man flu and spending a small fortune at Alton Towers means I’ll have to give it a miss, plus I’m also forking out for my lad to go to Woking on Saturday with his mates so I’ve prioritised him getting to go there instead.

I’ve just laughed out loud at the thought of Wrexhams game being off, imagine

I’ll be at Alty tomorrow (weather permitting) I haven’t had the best games so far this season and have certainly missed the crackers. Fingers crossed for a win, 4 points or more in this and away at Woking and I’ll start to get a bit excited.
Alty always get games called off even when other teams are in the area don’t so if there is lots of terrential rain I wouldn’t hold out much hope.

As much as I've banged on about his inclusion in our squad being useless, it's incredibly harsh and I also feel for him. But he's a more than likely a top earner in this squad, it's getting close to the time to cut our losses and release him for me. We could take the hit now and replace him with a big signing. Having said that, from Hurst's comments it might not that bad but it seems like these niggles are going to continue.

He's played about max 10 games a season for the last 5 years, he should never have been kept on.

Max Wright is the same but at least he is being paid buttons

Money for me on this one. Trains/car hire are a fucking joke in this country, I thought about National Express/Megabus up to Manc but that would require 2 days off, which I don't have unfortunately as I've got plans for all my leave.

OS says there's 100 tickets available, do I remember reading the initial allocation was 1000?

Yeah, I worked it out and posted it on The Fishy. He's averaged about 9 league matches (11 in all comps) over the past 5 seasons. Max Wright is on £40 a week so he's fine. Throw Grant into the mix and we're 3 wingers light. Thankfully, Harry Clifton would run his arse into the groud if we asked him to sell burgers so we've got an extra bit of cover out wide, but we'd be up shit creek without him.

Yeah 1,000, the more I look at the weather the more I think there’s zero chance for us playing.

A completely unrelated and very boring note, my tickets arrived today and after feeling the material I’m absolutely convinced they’ll dissolve in the rain. They’re not even as strong as paper, TINPOT

Also...
Think Alty will either do a Bromley and suss us out or we’ll turn on the style and come away with a strong win. 3-1 either way.
"suss us out" is a bit of a grandiose term for knowing how to play on their pitch in a torrential downpour, kicking Sousa off the pitch and benefiting from a weak ref. If it stayed dry last Tuesday and the ref actually controls the match, I'm convinced we'd be four points clear going into tomorrow night's matches.

Maidenhead did also stifle us though obviously not to the same extent. Not saying we were poor against Maidenhead either but I’d argue that Alty are better and also have better players. I’ve also taken it upon myself to not blame refs this year as every other game I’ll be complaining. Good teams usually find ways around a bad ref too…

Yeah, Maidenhead stifled us better than Bromley in my opinion as we only really carved out one chance against them. Bromley were unsurprisingly better going forward though. And yep, that's probably a good call on the refs. Every other game is probably being too generous!

Can’t see our game being on looking at the forecast for Halifax tonight and tomorrow. Wouldn’t be the worst thing for us, more time to get some defenders back fit again.
I'm going up so I hope is called off early if it's looking dodgy.

Yeah, me too. Problem is it looks drizzly and not too bad until early afternoon, and at its worst in the three or four hours before kick off. So bound to be one that’s playable at 3pm and then not at 7…

Tough game definitely, would snatch your hand for a point. Our defence will be in for a torrid game against Mullin and Hyde, proper acid test for them. That all said I think Rowe will have them fired up especially after that awful Woking performance, and I can't remember us having 2 had games in a row under... Rowe.

Tough to call but a draw seems likely and would be a good result. There'll be some serious concerns and discontent if we lose and lose badly

Dover away. I’ve got a horrible feeling about this.
You and me both. Can’t think of Dover without remembering that horrendous Dillon cup-tie. If they play direct to big galoots up front we are in trouble.
Surely, though, we can’t get stuffed there,, can we?…

I don’t think we really had a choice, nobody would’ve taken him and we’d have spent the same paying him off as we would keeping him. He’s talented enough to warrant just keeping in case, we don’t have much other option IMO and if we can get him fit for even 10 games, it’ll be worth it.

Has your lad been a naughty boy then?
That is what we threaten our kids with.....if you carry on like that your dad will take you to Maidenhead on Saturday!!

On Ladbrokes Boreham Wood are 23/20 to beat Torquay. Easy money?

Id imagine most matches could be in doubt but maybe those further west have a better chance as the rain will pass through earlier. With the wind it has a chance to dry out a bit anything on the east side will be in trouble

Love it, bring it on. Has all the hall- marks of an epic. F̶o̶r̶t̶u̶n̶a̶t̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶ Unfortunately I am otherwise engaged.
It had better not be abandoned, or I shall get really cross..

Perhaps Ricky Miller, if he plays, will re-live the old days?

Forecast is fine after tonight

I'm hoping there will be a very minimal crowd and if people are vocal they'll all be outside the ground. Also I'm hoping the game gets disrupted by tennis balls or beach balls or something.
We've got what 3500-4000 season ticket holders and maybe 25 will turn up from Eastleigh, so that will be the 'official' crowd but I'm really hoping no more than 1000 will be inside the stadium.
Yep, I’m not going tomorrow. Fuck em

We've had a 10 day break which will hopefully be a good thing, but we need to start winning these games in hand we now have. Maidenhead won't be an easy match. Which is something I never thought i'd see myself type.

Another easy game for Chesterfield, playing the twitching corpse of Wrexham.
