Oh he was awful today, but one of many for us, horrible performance all round. Overall has been one of our better players so far, though, I would say. Although he’s been fairly different to what I expected - no worries at all defensively really, but not as much of a threat going forward yet as I’d hoped, particularly when we’ve played a back three.

I wouldn’t necessarily prefer to have him than Miller, either. In isolation there’s no question Miller is a better player, but in our team I think you’d create even more problems sticking CM in there as well.
How many of our squad do you think have had good starts to the season Jacob?
Overall I'd say Wootton and Palmer are the only two who've been a six or above every game.

Every team in the league will be raising their game massively when they play us now, and though I agree with ya (I think they'll do one on us), with the defence we've got at the minute, I can't see a tonking though and there'll only be one or two in it...

Overall I'd say Wootton and Palmer are the only two who've been a six or above every game.

Wootton comfortably out ahead of anyone else for me, been consistently excellent, and no complaints about Kyle Cameron at all. I like Palmer, obviously a class footballer for this league, but I don’t think he’s necessarily what we need in midfield, certainly with the current options we have to partner him.

I don’t think any of our individuals have been poor really to be honest. Maybe Ed Francis, but he’s had a couple of good games as well. But the balance is miles off - if we’re going to play Roberts and Rodrigues in the same team, they need protection and a midfield that’s got the energy to make up for the lack of defensive work they tend to do, and is then capable of getting the ball to them quickly. We have a couple of tidy footballers in there in Palmer and Francis (or O’Brien) but I’m not sure any of them are doing what we really need to balance the team.

I mean, as we’ve mentioned Miller, and the Chesterfield comparisons are obvious, if I’m looking at someone there and thinking ‘we could do with that’, I’m looking at Oyeleke and Khan.

Dreadful from Notts, fully deserved for Altrincham who worked hard and were a threat with the little possession they had. We have to learn that you can’t just turn it on at will and need to play with some kind of intensity and pace from the off. Our forwards were poor today, but by the time the ball got to them they were faced with ten defenders back in their shape and behind the ball. Took us so long to move it forward.
Disturbing that recently Burchnallball has been mentioned in the same breath as Ardleyball.

What I want to know is if the Reedtz bros will say fuck it and our next manager will be a purveyor of the ‘launch it’ school of football.

Taylor has moments of effectiveness, a few good passes but he at no point has terrorised a right back for a game.
To be fair I wasn't Miller's biggest fan either, it wasn't until the last half dozen games of the season that he came good, his best game being against you. I would swap him for Taylor as things stand though.
Worst part about Taylor for us was he was absolutely knackered by 60 mins.

I’ll say it now actually, that football we are trying to play won’t get us out of this league.

No. They will be this seasons Halifax - start well, get excited and then fade away into the lower reaches.
Once the injuries/suspensions kick in and Wild potentially starts worrying too much about the opposition rather than ourselves again then there’s a good chance you’ll be right.

I do think we’ll win more than we’ll lose over the course of the season. Can see us being in and around the playoff race.

Taylor is mostly poor and today was dire. Will not take the man on, always the backwards or sideways pass if possible.
Genuinely unsure if he has any pace at all because I've yet to see him prod the ball past a player and chase it.
Did you not ģo to the Maidenhead game then, Taylor was everything you say in the first half, 2nd he was superb bombing down the wing and put in several good balls plus the shot that drew a very good save.

Oh wow, really sticking your neck out there. :ffs:

Honestly, what's he said there? NOTHING! Again. As usual he's covered his arse at both ends without saying anything at all. Let me translate - "we might make the pay-offs, we might not, I have no idea but if we don't it will be because I was right about Wild":ffs:

Trust me, these 2 idiots know NOTHING about football or our club. They churn out tons of this shit all the time on our home forum.

Stockport County.
Doesn’t say a lot about you then, really.
You been under a rock the last few weeks?

None of our lot have rated us this season. Quite the opposite.

Dagenham still the best team I've seen by a mile and we've had them, Grimsby, Wrexham, Yeovil, Halifax, Boreham Wood. We were thumped by Yeovil and Halifax but neither were half as good as Dagenham.

Sounded like a very poor game today. Least we didn't lose it! Games like this that show we need a proper goal scorer.
Not sure that would have helped a great deal, unless said proper goal scorer had capitalised on something that others didn't but Maidenhead didn't really give us a sniff in the box other than Sousa's goal. They nullified McAtee and Sousa very well and that final bit of guile we've seen a lot of this season just wasn't there linking the midfield and attack.

They offered very little going forward though so it's very frustrating to have not won that when we've gone ahead. Would like to see their goal again as it looked very much like we left a man free when we had three CBs on the pitch, which is just a very silly way to lose two points. Some choice words were had between Towler and McKeown after the ball hit the net.

Flat atmosphere in the away end too really. Don't think it helped being wrapped around a corner as opposed to all in one stand.

Maidenhead are classic Devonshire, well drilled and big as fuck. Even Waterfall was struggling to compete from our attacking set pieces. They'll do at least one of the promotion hopefuls at home this season for sure.

Why does everyone hate me on here? Is it because I flashed an old lady in 1996? Is it because my bairn shits himself and then eats it? Or is it because I squandered all my money and stole money from Richard Brodie and Jamie Slabber?

Probably because you try to derail threads and you're not as funny as you think you are. You were okay when you first popped up but your schtick doesn't have long term appeal. You need to go away, have a serious think and come back re-branded.

Yeah, piss off back to League 2…. BTW, we’ve had both Brodie and Slabber on our payroll, and I can confirm they were s̶h̶i̶t̶ perfect professionals.

We were indeed shit. Not saying we weren't.

In other news, I saw you just about managed to scrape 2000 home fans today. When's this season's first sub-2000 attendance at The Sands Venue gonna be? Barrow Tuesday 19th October?

I was there and second half against Maidenhead was probably his best forty five for us but overall I'm not very impressed with him. Not that he's alone, Francis, Brindley, Rawlinson and at times DKE, ( out of position) and Cameron have all looked weak.
I blame the manager to a fair degree, he talks well in analysis but then sends out a team that does the exact same things the next game.
We start too slowly, we value retention of the ball over positive, forward movement with the ball and are persisting with a formation that nullifies Rodriguess, makes both wide men of the five look bad and feeds Wootton who's capable of a goal a game pretty much nothing.

Very true, however if we had someone like Connell when we were last here who could just score goals from nothing on his own you don't drop two points. At the moment we have goals that are going to be spread around the team but noone who is going to win a game were nothing comes of like yesterday.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. We definitely need that elusive #9. I just don't think it was necessarily the key to getting 3 points yesterday, unless like you say, he'd have been able to pull something out the bag on his own. However, that wouldn't have been necessary had we not switched off at the back. That's what's ultimately cost us those 2 points there.

Speaking of Connell bangers though, I'd like to see Alex Hunt have a pop at goal a bit more than he has been doing. He sits very deep a lot of the time, with Clifton pushing forward who obviously brings a lot of energy but I'm sure Hunt'll have a decent shot on him from open play.
