Luke Garrard is the new Borehamwood manager. Just 30 years old, he's been managing their academy for a few years.

Total Unknown. As was Louis Faz when he took over at Welling last season. And to be fair to him he has done a decent job. Somehow I dont see him doing likewise though.

He was a very good defender for us in the Ryman Prem/Conf South. Good stand-in goalie as well as far as I can remember.

I think he's got quite a good reputation for bringing young players through, not that that necessarily makes a good manager :dk:

All of the National League teams now have managers again - but for how long?

Unless there's a very quick turn of events, I can't see anyone under enough pressure to be given the boot in the next month or two.

Sorry but I'm hi jacking this thread as you don't seem to have a generic non league one on the go. If you have an alternative thread which is more appropriate, please feel free to move this post.

Histon have today re-appointed Steve Fallon as manager. Fallon was manager when they had their rise up the non leagues previously, beating Leeds in the FA Cup and reaching the Conference play offs before falling back to their natural level when their money ran out and off field egos took over.

I don't think Fallon will do any good this time round as he won't have John Beck next to him, nor the budget to fund his way up the leagues but will certainly be a popular appointment in Histon quarters.

Anyway, just thought if bring it up.....

I had considered bringing it up earlier, though the appropriate thread might have been the Southern League one ;) . It was pointed out on our forum that they aren't just missing the huge financial income this time, they are very short of cash. Indeed just last week they were appealing for new board members and investors with talk of a takeover by anyone interested. I seriously doubt they've brought money in already.

Fallon has spent the last three years with Soham Town Rangers of the Isthmian North (step 4), delivering upper mid-table finishes. Histon currently ply their trade at Southern Premier (step 3) level. This appears to be a move to draw fans back in. Sill it's enough to garner some attention.

Yes Histon have been in a financial mess for some time. I hadn't heard that Fallon had left Soham so Brian Page's dismissal came out of the blue to me (they'd stick by him last couple of seasons despite their struggles).

Fallon apparently left Soham as there's been a shake up at board level and the main man to take him there has now left. One of my mates played for him at Soham and said he hadn't been that impressed, to the point he signed elsewhere this summer.

I hadn't spotted the Southern League thread, apologies.... :-(

Edmondson has a month to "save his job" at Barrow: http://www.nwemail.co.uk/Casson-I-h...doubt-24ee87a9-72a6-41c2-bc3e-23e7b28328b3-ds

Chairman told the press off the record this morning that he was giving him a month to turn it around and this evening both chairman and manager have been interviewed live on radio about it all.
Not looking good for him, and I've moved into the group of supporters thinking he's out of his depth.
We're five points off the play-offs and had some very unlucky defeats that should've been wins, but the performances haven't been great and the signings have almost all been dreadful this summer.
What are people's opinions on chairmen coming out and openly stating that the manager's job is on the line? Opinion on the Barrow forum is a bit mixed.

Should be kept in-house IMO. He's not gaining anything by publically saying it.

And Halifax become the first team of the season to get rid of two managers. Not surprising really.

Interestingly during our game on Saturday, the Radio Cumbria commentator described how strange it was that the Welling manager and a coach (goalkeeper/assistant?) seemed to be shouting contradictory instructions at their players! Not sure what that's all about, but might explain their terrible form...

The lowest club not to have changed manager now is Guiseley in 18th, and 7 points clear of the drop zone (6 if you go up to Boreham wood who don't have games in hand) is probably a good result for them in the first season up here!

Quite surprised by this after they played us in October they looked a very good side but have hardly won a game since. Teams will be sniffing round after their star man Emmanuel now I would think in the summer.
