Good win against a decent Hereford side. Looked the better side until lost our left back, and had to switch Hedley, a midfielder covering right back, to left back, and bring on a midfielder in Purser to play Right Back. Hereford then got a lot of joy down that wing, and we were penned back for the whole of the second half. However, a combination of solid defending, and Hereford's inability to put a decent cross in saw us hold on for the victory. We would have definitely lost that a couple of weeks ago. The signing of Danny Ellis has really helped with our organisation at the back, and Luke Charman is on fire up front.

Sounds like it might have the makings of a good game on Saturday at VP against Darlo. Looking forward to the game.

Got any thoughts or feelings for tomorrow's game? Full squad available?

Like you say it should be a good one. We've improved at the back since Cooper and now Ellis have come in, albeit against two sides who have been low scorers this year. So you guys will be a proper test of whether our improvement in form is flattered by playing strugglers. We have had goals in us this season though, no one has stopped us from scoring in the league this season and Luke Charman seems to be bang in form.

Knowing how difficult our previous trips to Victory Park have been I'd happily take a draw now. But hopefully its a good game. If we can get the win we can seriously start thinking about being a top half coat tails of the playoffs team.

Radio silence as usual our side. Gutted he has gone back as I know we wanted to sign him permanently. Made a real difference to us.
Sorry a bit delayed to your reply. I don't know if he was coming back anyway, but then one of our CBs was concussed on Tuesday, so that was that.

Always difficult to know how our injured players are progressing as the fans get told nowt at Chorley, as far as I am aware it is unlikely Andy Halls will be fit, though I doubt he would have played, maybe on bench, hopefully Harry Cardwell will be available, again he has been out for about 3-4 weeks so nay only be on the bench.
We have been strong defensively so as you have goals it could be quite a tussle, hopefully we see a good game and may the best team win.

Well we got the points though if I were a Darlo fan I would feel hard done by. Unfortunately still no Cardwel. In our squad so Alli in the unusual slot of a number 9, which he isnt, got lucky with the opening goal which apparently was an oh, couldn't see from the other end, thought Darlo were slightly the better side in first half. The change that made the difference was the introduction of Blyth in place of Alli, suddenly we were winning balls in the air, then Darlo equalise and I must admit I thought they would have gone on to win it but Blyth rose highest and slotted home a corner to give us the 3 points.
I suppose it's a bonus to not play well and get the points.

How we didn’t come away with anything from that game, I don’t know.

Thought we had a good travelling turn out too. All the best for the season.

Most Chorley fans would agree with you, but we should have had a penalty when your keeper pulled down Hall in the second half.

Reading the report and listening to AA's interview and with a string of chances. I think we at least deserved to come away with a point.

It's pretty tight in mid-table we haven't really lost any ground with this defeat. I think we'll bounce back next Saturday against Leamington who are just underneath us at present. All is not lost for the lads they've performed well and that's what matters, one of those days sounds as tho could have gone either way.

Beat Gloucester 1 nil. We controlled the game without posing much of a threat. Bit of an off day for us. I know they’ve have had there best players taken from them and it showed. They look like they’ll struggle this year if I’m being honest

Yes, they certainly struggled at our place a few weeks ago. As expected you lot are looking strong.

Yeah he seems to have signed really well Bentley. Joyce and Perkins although really old completely breeze the game. They barely break a sweat and haughton has been absolutely flying. I think we miss a decent striker. Could be our undoing this season.

Haven't Curzon got form for getting rid of managers who were doing a good job?

They removed Flanagan when frankly he had them doing ok in conf north level but he was moaning from all accounts about lack of cash after afew seasons losing his best players and having little to work with and they had enough since he knew what he was working with. So was a little bit mutually had enough.

this one is weird but that Facebook Twitter post suggests more than meets eye

Surely this cant be related to performance on the pitch? Must be something happening in the background, he has clearly upset someone in power.

Statement from Curzon.

they say he has been sacked because over weekend he was holding talks to manage someone else and never told the club and no approach had been made.

Can understand it but think Curzon also need to realise they will always be poached at this level. Although if true and doing it all behind clubs back they do have little option because of you allow the manager to do it the players will.

According to a local journalist he's not going to Telford

Well that is where you have to debate the rights and wrongs. If he isn’t on contract he isn’t as such doing much wrong but on other side of coin I do t know if board found out from elsewhere or he told them at weekend…….if a board think your manager is off at first opportunity with little knowledge of it then it’s hard to move forward.

but if non contract they must know they can Be tapped up……..has happened with Curzon numerous times the last 4-5 years as soon as someone does well at conf north level someone bigger here nicked em.

It's a great pity but inevitable I guess. Always a risk if you dont have players/Manager or Coach on contracts. If it turns out to be true it's a shabby way to treat the club who gave him a chance at this level but undoubtably there will be 2 sides to the story.
Interesting to see how it plays out.
What is your opinion of your interim appointment?
