They're trying to play a style a football a world away from what they were known for when they joined us. Trying to be slick and sexy playing out from the back, literally every goal we concede is a horrendous mistake and then we're chasing games and get picked off late on.

Something has to change, I'd like to see them given chance to turn it around and hopefully tonight was the reality check they really needed. But Jonno's dug a hole for himself with his post match interview, basically just put it to the board to make a decision about them.

What on earth happened? I think discussing the game in general between the two of us over the replay that I said you'll most likely win the return fixture. And you said you'll be disappointed that you don't finish them off.

I mentioned Adam Boyes I think he's far too good for the division he's playing in, just a bench warmer at Spendymoor when I think we tried to capture him. And I noticed Dale Hopson was on the scoresheet tonight as well. Never mind concentrate in recapturing a bit of form in the league. That's the only consolation in being dumped out of the cup competitions.

Their first two goals were absolute howlers on our part, but that’s been a theme this season. Conceding too many really cheap stupid goals by messing about at the back thinking we're Man City. We end up chasing the game, going gung-ho with our centre back up front and leave ourselves open for them to pick us off and exaggerate the scoreline.

Don’t get me wrong Marske are a decent side but we completely beat ourselves. We’re doing it most weeks.

That's not good! I think Jonno needs to sort out the problems before the rot sets in. It's a similar scenario to our 1st four games in the league giving our opponents a 2 goal lead with far too many easy goals being leaked.

Maybe now might be the time for a change with the set up, must be question marks now with the fans over B&J and desperation must be beginning to set in with the way results are going. A club like Chester the fans will always be looking to make the play-offs as a minimum this season and that lies with the management.

What did he say in the post match interview. I like Jonno and I could be completely wrong in saying this but after watching the class of 92 he seems to play the complete opposite of slick football. Whenever we played Salford under Bernard and jonno you knew they were gonna hit the channels and be physical and it worked tbh.

We are more like Man City in the way we are trying to play now without the skills to achieve it.

I see that due to Ketterings continued involvement in the FA Cup our game on 16 Oct is off we now welcome Darlo to Victory Park looking forward to that as it's usually a good game. Thoughts Darlo fans?

Little annoyed at this on a personal level as few of us already had the trains booked and hotel booked for the original game.

Gonna be a fuck on sorting the refunds for them. But I’ll be down next weekend as usual.

What I really want to know is how badly to they rank on a scale of 1 to Jon McCarthy?
They have come out and taken responsibility.

McCarthy always blamed someone else, or reminded us that we'd beaten Aldershot

Gloucester sign Ben Nugent from Barnet, who paid Gloucester a fee earlier this year to sign Liam Daly as Nugent was way out of his depth.

Good luck Gloucester, you'll need it.

'We did that'

If you're not a Chester fan you won't get it but it's crazy how bizarre it was and how it's still so well remembered and talked about. That post match interview after the Macc game a week later was absolute gold.

Farsley away tomorrow. Curzon may well go top as our fixture is much easier on paper than fylde or brackley……..who’d bet on that in October.

one of them games I’m iffy with though. Too many nice pre game points. We are on mass winning run, they are in poor form, not won at home, we can go top, our away form is superb etc etc……….points to slip up.

but we have tough run of games coming so need to be merciless and win this.

Eextended unbeaten league run to 5 games (4 wins) with a solid win at Blyth, the team selection looked well balanced and good to see Millinic Alli get a start. Up into the top 7 now wow!

Alfreton 1-1 AFC Fylde

Cant praise the lads enough after that. After the car crash in the FA Cup we have come a long way.

Went toe to toe with arguably the best team in the league and if it was not for Chris Neal we we would have won.

Not enjoyed a game as much as that at the Impact in years.
Elliott Reeves who has been out of favour and clearly as such his confidence has been knocked missed a huge chance to win right at the end.

On that evidence we could compete for a play off spot but we need to keep this 4 game unbeaten run going.

Your worst performance of the season by a way according to your fans on twitter.
I thought you were half decent but we should have won. Chris Neal was your MOTM.

Ok thanks. He’s been a great signing for us. Saved us points a few times this season. It’s the one main reason we got relegated. Jay Lynch (who was unbelievable) left to go into the football league and we must have tried 3/4 keepers and they were all poor tbh. Cost us massively

Still have nightmares over that 4-1 drubbing we received at Victory Park back in 2017/18 season. But yes they usually provide a few goals and a lively encounter between the two sides.

Lads put a good shift in today and deserved a round of applause from the fans at the the final whistle.
Taylor was outstanding between the sticks with some eye catching saves. Great team effort and thoroughly deserved the three points....

Next up Chorley and that'll definitely be a tough game - Who are bang in form with 13 points from their last 5 league games - As with ourselves with a decent 10 points from our last 5 league games..

We absolutely battered BPA. Hit the woodwork three times, their keeper made two worldie saves. No McClure due to injury, we announced Dejon Noel-Williams before kick off but he was unable to play. Big centre forward we've been crying out for. Had we had those 2 playing that could have been a big win. A much better performance than any under Groves this season but felt a little like a defeat in truth.

Tomlinson on the wing who is on loan from Bristol Rovers looks a real handful and Nugent was superb at the back. Just as well considering we've got Fylde away next.

Not sure if it’s been asked yet but any Boston fans able to shed any light on how Luke Spokes is getting on?
