Charman took a few weeks to get fully match fit, but his all-round play has been pretty decent. I suspect once he gets a goal, he'll start getting them regularly.

We've also recalled Ethan Brierley from loan at Spennymoor in time for today's game - we're short in midfield so he might go straight in to the starting line-up.
Comment looks bang on. 2 goals in the first half. The lad has all the quality just needs the confidence of a goal or two and think he could be a real asset.

Felt like a pre season fixture that, odd given Chorley are in for the play offs. First half had very little action at all. Second half pretty even, Wiles-Richards our keeper on loan from Bristol city, pulled off a great save but Chorley managed to get the breakthrough with a header.

Time went on and looked like it was going to be one of those games as they cleared a shot off the line. But after that clearance, it eventually found its way to Robert who volleyed it home in extra time. We almost nicked a winner with McClure close to grabbing a (undeserved tbf) goal. 1-1, much better than 9 nil...

Nothing in our game, neither side ever looking like conceding. Strange for us!

Bit surprised Alfreton played with such a lack of intensity considering how much they have to play for still. Thought they would try and go at us but it was a bit of a borefest with both sides looking like they were on the beach.

Was quite disappointed with Guiseley, expected them to come out and fight for their survival but they were awful. No chance they survive if they play their final 2 games like that.

We are knackered tbh. Wouldnt say we are on the beach. Just ran out of ideas when it was clear Plan A wasnt going to work. Two wins from here will do it.

Looked like they had hit the wall - no zip, no hustle, very un Brackley. Those of us who hoped that the lack of goals would be overcome by the tightest of defences were ultimately left...hoping. Have`nt scored enough goals all season really, last few games sums it up. Now, In two matches against the leakiest defence in the league, no goals! Unless Gateshead blow up, they are Champs, probably deservedly too. Brackley will have to lift themselves for the playoffs, both games at SJP if they win the semi, but the fortress has been stormed twice in succession now. And don`t mention penalties in playoffs!

i went to Gateshead some years ago.. easy trip on the Metro from Newcastle Central, food was alright as well.

I had the Boston game on Radio Lincs, sounded like us in previous years clinging on to a single goal lead and they concede in added time.

Congratulations to Gateshead certainly deserve it.
Shame Watson didn’t play Langstaff in position he scores goals at,was either on bench or on wing.

Poor match today it was like watching paint dry. A lot of work to do in the summer if we are to have a serious challenge for the play-offs next season..

Our £120,000 Boost the Budget 2022/2023 target by the end of May should add a few new additions to the squad.

Once Charman gets into a rhythm you'll enjoy his goals, hopefully next season he'll show Dale fan's what he's all about..

I wouldn't care Langstaff was only sat on the bench when they played us in December and once he came on he changed the game with two goals in the last 15 minutes.

I think that's when Stockport were showing a bit of interest in him as a back-up striker for Scott Quigley? I think it was 'Stocky' wanting a bit of feedback on Langstaff if he was decent or not.
Sorry just catching up with this thread as don’t visit here that often anymore.

There were rumours but for me they never made sense as he’s completely different type of striker to Quigley. We did meet the release clause for Charman who fitted the competition for Quigley vibe but he decided to join Rochdale.

Well deserved point at Boston, arguably deserved more. Under Mansell we've only lost 4 of our last 17 league games (Gateshead and Brackley 2 of those) and look a million times better than the shower we went into the season with under Groves. With 3 or 4 quality additions, mainly upfront to put away these chances, and clear out the dross we could be up there next season.

Are you lot staying full time next season? Been a criminally bad season for you with the resources and training time you've had.

Hybrid next season. Hopefully the best of both worlds. Attract players who didn't want to go full time and not be left with contracted players nowhere near good enough picking up daft wages

Does that mean Brackley (part-time, small squad) also deserve to go up?
Sadly, we're really flat at the moment 5pts from the last 5 matches when the pressure was on - certainly don't think either Chorley or York should be fearful. And I've watched us lose 6 times in the playoffs...

Who decided to make the playoffs Wednesday and Thursday (ours being Thursday) then Saturday and Sunday ( ours potentially being Sunday) that's so annoying.

If Brackley had won league and got out of this hellhole I would of posted the same message.
Gateshead were the best team I saw this season and scored a massive 97 goals.
Correct me if wrong but was talking to your turnstile operator and he told me how much your chairman puts into your club,so should be near top.
It’s clubs like York,Boston and Flyde that’s done poorly.
On a separate note York last years books are in and have a net equity of £3,582,036 after sale of Bootham Crescent.
