Steven Cleeve whining about our goal being offside (it wasn't) whilst keeping stum about their 99th minute equaliser when only 8 minutes was meant to be played ....
To be fair it’s a minimum of 8 minutes so any substitutions and time wasting in extra time has to be included.

How many fans do Darlo usually get at home then because just shy of 1200 sounds decent enough to me for step 6.

Average between 1400/1500 per game, but the crap start to the season has put a lot of floating fans off.
Yes we averaged 2,200+ last season, but we've had a crap start too. All matches all ticket until November and that'll knock 250 off.

So scunny have got another county court Judgement to the tune of 15 grand to deal with.

Also offering Lifetime season tickets for 2 grand.

But because the pub team manager is winning games with his Man City-esque budget we should all be happy eh Bottega Don

Quite funny seeing Bottega Don calling you out for being miserable to be fair, it’s the equivalent of Gary Glitter calling somebody out for being a nonce.

Pretty much benched all season so far only
Little drinks and drabs in terms of time on pitch.

I’d assume injured than tactical but takes a lot longer at part time level to g et fit and ready.

Average between 1400/1500 per game, but the crap start to the season has put a lot of floating fans off.

Darlington is the side I feel of all them who dropped out of the FL seems to have lost the most, even more so than them who went bust.

May be wrong and can only judge it from my many visits over the 90’s and early 00’s but am pretty sure most of the sides who dropped down in non league kept a lot of their base support while Darlo have lost a lot of theirs.

I seem to remember Darlo were easy for 3,500 average maybe even 4,500 crowds but I may be wrong because while Carlisle wasn’t a derby it at least held a little more interest than the bog standard game.

Hereford we’re usually around 3,000 in league and seem to hold it here, Chester used to get about 2,500 and are not that far off here, Stockport for 6,000 here, York gates floated but could get decent gates here.

Macclesfield gates have trebled since going down the leagues, Bury getting 3-5000 which is about their normal, even Scarborough got about 1,500 in league and not far off.

Darlo seem to have lost over 50% of their fanbase and can only think of ground as the reason as all other clubs kept theirs (with exception of Scarborough but they built across road from old one)

Having x3 dodgy owners in the space of 10 years putting us in admin x3 times will have that effect, shot into the equation an oversized stadium and underfunded team; we were always up against it.

Now we have 1 of the worst grounds in the league, and the only reason we are there was to ensure we could get promotion to the NL North after ground sharing at Bishop Auckland for 4 years.

Hopefully whenever we do get our own ground, the grounds will come back - The support is there, but people don't wanna stand at Blackwell Meadows where we ain't hugely welcomed by the rugby club and to have a shit view of the pitch.

It's the ground I'm sure and it's holding them back massively as has been alluded to, I'm struggling to do the midweek game there in 2 weeks but I'm not all that arsed, whereas some others I'd still bust a gut to get to

Certainly from an away fan (boston) perspective, we don't travel well there considering there are longer, more difficult trips with fewer exiles in the area, yet tend to have a higher turnout

We'll both average similar i suspect, but if Darlington had our ground they'd be 2000-2500 most weeks and if we had their ground we'd struggle for 1000- our own gates have gone from 1100 to 1500 since the move and finally some of the newer fans are starting to go away (cheaper buses this season helps). There's fans out there who want to go to a game in comfort and have a decent view and experience, not just stand with bird muck all about or be on a flat patio with no roof if it rains

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Scunthorpe at home Saturday for Curzon and hoping to go but not wanting to take my 5 year old if risk of trouble so may decide last minute, am a member so I can do this even though all ticket.

As for the game I think it all depends on how well the Scunny manager has prepared his team for this match otherwise I think Curzon will win it, we are a big sucker punch game for afew bigger clubs and think it’s because our whole set up is quite deceptive.

If never been before you look at the silly ‘curzon Ashton’ name and gates of 200 and assume it’s some pokey little club in ramshackle ground, no doubt 11 big lumps long balling all game.

Then arrive and see the mass of facilities around ground and a FL ready ground and possibly best pitch in league, yet still only 2-300 rattling around it all and while confused get a little more confident because all them advantages for the small club like tight ground, crap pitch etc etc ain’t here especially when we ain’t the team of giants either.

Then suddenly as game starts you notice we are still a dirty little time wasting cpub, but also pass the ball around better than most and suddenly it’s a much different game than expected.

If he’s prepared for this you have the better players and should win, if you get sucked into the name, crowds, lower league perception trap…..you will lose and go bloody apesh*t at fact you did

Having to stand behind goal cannot get my usual spot in covered terrace always hate segregation lose the best spot in ground

Best team I ever seen at Curzon was that kings lynn side last season will see how this Scunny side rate since a lot expected from them……….not sure on our gameplay one part of me thinks they will play it tight hope to keep it 0-0 half time and bring out frustration in their fanbase then go for it.

Another part of me thinks we need to go for it first half, go for lead then hold it because the part time to full time fitness aspect

It is but we are the same size club as Hereford and Chester historically - yet they get gates of 2,000+ and we have been stuck at 1300-1400 for a long time really.

Beating Scunthorpe 1-0 at half time, kept them to absolutely nothing until about the 43rd then they forced two great saves and should have gone in level.

They fell into the usual curzon trap and came out start of game half hearted and lacking energy until we scored a cracking well worked goal and then in fairness to them they really upped the tempo and we have done really well to keep up them restricted chances wise.

We did finally start to slow game down but just on half time came a spell with Scunny nearly scoring twice.

We really need to slow game down and try and control tempo don’t think we could contain them if they play a quicker pace, but if we hold the first 15 minutes they will get frustrated and open to a mistake

You said you may be wrong twice, but were wrong neither time.

It's hard as a Darlo fan to be playing Scunthorpe, Chester, Hereford with many of our younger fans thinking they are massive clubs in comparison to us.

It'd be the same if we played the likes of Rochdale, Halifax and some others, if they came down.

Or getting smaller gates than Boston, Kidderminster, Scarborough regularly - nothing against those clubs who are traditionally better supported non league clubs, but I never would have thought they were bigger than Darlo but Kidderminster are now, and an argument could be made for the other two.

Even Spendy More are getting gates not far off ours nowadays.

I might be getting my "objects thrown at referees by Darlo fans" mixed up here.

Was this incident at Scunthorpe?

Ah right, the 3-3 draw.

The apple was thrown by an old gadgie in the main stand, at a home match. It bounced right off the ref's head.

One of the most painful games I have ever watched today. Still can't believe it managed to finish, it was unplayable for 15 minutes.

The amount of passing around their box we did was ridiculous, need to be far more attacking than that.

Fair play to Curzon, they were very well drilled and so hard to break down.

Weird old game but I said Thursday a lot of key for Scunthorpe was perpetration for us and they didn’t bother.

First 20 minutes was dull as dishwater really, two sides doing very little than try to work each other out and neither doing much. Then suddenly we opened them up with a well worked move and we scored.

Suddenly Scunthorpe upped their game, played much faster (showing to me they had taken this game as a ‘walk in the park’) and Curzon had to work bloody hard to keep them at bay……and to be honest most of the first half they didn’t let Scunthorpe do anything, they had ball and had it about box but created little. Just on half time Scunthorpe had their moment with two well saved chances but half time killed any momentum from that.

Second half was as such bonkers it started to rain not heavy but constant and in terms of game I get it was again more Scunthorpe but apart from one other chance they didn’t really threaten and Curzon defended well even at times slowing game down and easing the pressure.

Then 20 minutes odd to go weather got frantic, had the unique opportunity of watching 10 minutes of the game through a doorway of a pub bar with about 10 other people as rain got heavier the mass hailstones and downpours thunder and lighting. Of the bits I caught an eye on (could only really see the curzon box and goal) Scunny had a couple of free kicks but game was more even at this point.

Pitch became swamped and then talk around people sheltering in the bar of whether game may be off and what point result stood, think it was about 80th minute pitch was bad and ball got stuck in water so talk was needing five more minutes to keep result.

In the end they played rest, rain eased and game became a mess because ball didn’t move and while I’ve seen games in 80’s and 90’s played on much much worse players thesedays don’t have the skill or knowledge to play in these conditions anymore which really killed game on chances and gauranteed us the points.

Scunny had more possession, play and ball about our box but curzon restricted them to 3 very good chances and defended well, Scunthorpe need to learn from this game to not ‘assume’ a game is easy and go for it from start of game, they only decided to play at their best once a goal down.

Spennymoor still giving out free STs to youth teamers and parents then counting them regardless whether or not they turn up?

Well we are the longest serving club in the North, it'll be our last if this continues. The Hungerford chancers are ruining this club, utterly clueless
