Terrible performance last night against a team that scored very early and began their time-wasting immediately. We were poor and never looked like scoring. The referee was their12th man in not booking anyone or taking any action against their blatant time wasting. The goalkeeper was the worst culprit. We need a change of tactics and a few reinforcements.
To be fair the ref gave us everything bar dealing with the time wasting, which was ridiculous. I said to somebody in the 5th minute that he'll book the keeper in the 88th minute or something, turns out that's just when he got his warning instead. Possibly was the lowest 'ball in play' game of the season and very poorly handled by the ref on that front.

Only we could have 80% possession and just one shot on target. Too many midfielders, albeit technically gifted ones, who are happy to pass it amongst themselves all game.

Curzon away this weekend, a place we never do great at.

Sure plenty of beers on the train en-route will help ease the pain.

One thing we can be sure of at Curzon and that is plenty of rain, always rains when we visit Curzon.

And without a doubt a good spanking.

I think we'll be needing them beers.......

They looked pretty ordinary when we beat them 2-0 at our place recently, but looking at their last 10 results they've won the other 9.

I agree they did look pretty ordinary. If we had a decent striker we'd have made a game of it.

We had so much possession our game could have gone either way.

If you want a bit of hope, games vs bottom sides is why curzon missed play offs the last two seasons, look at Gloucester away 3-0 loss when in decent form.

We seem to lose that hard working team effort vs bottom sides for some reason, even wins can be hard wok

Since the game was off, we ended up on the drink on Manchester all day and then taking in Hyde vs Bradford PA.

Kings lynn 0-3 curzon at half time, very very comfortable, they did ok until we scored then seem to have collapsed and must have extremely low morale.

After that it’s just been a case of how many down before half time came.

Surprised how poor lynn are defensively, I didn’t like Lakeland for his extreme negative tactics (I pay to watch a match not a bore fest) but he usually at least gets a decent defence.

We are just doing what I say we need to do if we want to finally crack that top 6, play the poor or out of form sides and beat them.

Peers and Caton up top together for the first time tonight and my word they were a handful despite only just straight back in, Chorley couldn't handle them. Got to keep them fit.

Our first away win in almost ten months! After Saturday's awful defeat I was resigned to relegation and it looked like the team were. To be honest I still would be very surprised if we get out of it, Banbury are on an awful run and looked very poor. That said a huge three points but we missed two open goals which just shows how poor we've been at killing off games. Stortford on Saturday, gotta be three points to stand a chance.

Awful display by Chorley, outplayed all over the pitch, Chester well worth their win, surprised it wasnt more actually, I doubt we would have scored had we still been playing. What a shambles!

Really poor quality on show at Tamworth. Boston had the best chance in the game in the first half but Singh recovered well to save the effort. Other than that it was just a bit of a mess to be honest, wind ruined any chance of a decent match.

Chorley manager Preece ( who played for us back in the day) was very magnanimous in defeat and said they couldn't handle us.

So they are not really going to stream midweek conf orphans south games due to lack of demand going forward.

What demand did they expect, masses of tv fans! Shame as worked well for me as cannot do midweek and curzon always had good stream quality.

Good win for us yesterday at Peterborough Sports. Unfortunately for us, Tamworth are unstoppable which is making catching them almost impossible

Absolute must win on Tuesday against them to cut the gap to 6 points

Darlington 2 Hereford 0.

What a difference having a willing runner like Cedric Main in the team made - he constantly ragged the fuck out of the Hereford defenders - I think we call it defending from the front - a new concept to this season's Darlo side. It was like watching a different team.

The only disappointment is that we didn't win 4 or 5-0.

Watching the highlights from yesterday looks like we were total and utter tripe for 70 minutes and ran them ragged for 20…..grabbed a draw when it was dead and buried is a good thing but harsh realities is we need to do better against weaker sides if we want top 7.

Starting to pay dearly now for a small and weak squad, unable to compete physically with a robust Farsley side, the consequence being just a single home point , with another bruising encounter to come with Alfreton on Tuesday.

Tamworth's title it is, fair play to them they deserve it

Tyler Denton has cost us plain and simple tonight. Was a very even game but him getting himself sent off made it impossible for us to win. Pure stupidity from him. Tamworth's winner was jammy but that's the kind of luck you get when you're on top

I’m telling you now..it’s not over.
They have lost their best player
You have 2 games in hand
They are yet to have a wobble - it will happen.

As expected it was the usual physical battle against Alfreton and after 20 minutes I thought it was over but we settled down got the ball down then scored a terrific equalizer, went ahead on the stroke of HT Alfreton got back on terms but we battled on and managed to scramble home a winner with 13 minutes left on the clock. What a hard fought 3 points!

You must not give up hope because the play-offs will be difficult after coming so close.

Last season it was AFC Fylde and Kings Lynn toe to toe and the unpopular team eventually won it. KL entered the play-offs with a home tie against Kidderminster (who had come from nowhere) and got thrashed 4-1.

It will be difficult but if we finish 2nd and don't win the play-offs we've only got ourselves to blame. Would be two home games to get promoted, with our fanbase advantage we should be winning those two games.

On another note, just seen the red card from last night.

How the ref has missed the Tamworth player elbowing our CB I will never know. Should have been our free-kick and potentially a red to them before we even got the red.

Referees at this level are another level of awful

Definately not over.
They will wobble. I've seen enough from Brackley in the past doing that.
I'd agree Tamworth now are looking like they have a good shot.
But this isn't finished.... I've been watching non-league for nearly 40 years... this isn't like the professionals you've been watching until 2022 (and indeed 2023 as most in the Nat League are full time pros).

Agreed. The bubble will burst, it’s whether or not they have enough to get over the line.
Win your 2 in hand and the odd slip up and it’s back on. Infact im putting a tenner on.

I think personally the title race is done, mostly because I’d agree Tamworth could well have buckled…….if under pressure, but Scunny have given them a massive lead and the pressure has eased on them and is all placed onto Scunthorpe now.

And Scunthorpe have a horrific run of games coming up in a weeks time. Curzon at home which will be a tough bloody game we have the second best away form in the league after Tamworth.

Then away games at Scarborough and then South Shields who seem to have halted their rot, both these clubs in the top 6 for home points, then tough home games vs Alfreton and Chesterthey have better hope here as neither is fantastic away but both are very strong sides expected within that top 7.

That is a fucking horrendous set of games when you need to claw back a 12 point gap. Their only real hope is getting past them fixtures with a solid return, having also beat rushall and Blyth their game in hand and Tamworth looking at the fact they only have an 8-9 point gap and Scunthorpe have just finished their toughest run of the season

I think we will know more the end of this month. Tamworth are at Alfreton Saturday which is a tough fixture - lose that and it might set a few thinking if Scunthorpe win, still with games in hand.
Jamie jellis has left as well to go to
Walsall which might affect them.
