Well done Mariners, now finish the job! Hopefully the 'day out' mentality won't be there this time around.

Get in, well done Grimsby, you did the REAL clubs proud. Only remains to give Stepford Wives FC one up the arse at Wembley now. :bdick:

Losing the first leg then really worked in our favour because had it been 0 - 0 there is no way Hurst would have played 3 up front and dominated today, and would probably been another 0 - 0 and gone to pens.

Grimsby will have far too much for Forest Green.

To be fair to Tom King, he wasn't exactly helped by the defender running in that fell over.

Absolutely buzzing. So pleased to have been proved wrong. Helped by Braintree very anti-football, Phillips and King but we're going to Wembley twice! I didn't even see Bogle's goal but I'm forgetting about his season so far; a goal from him net Sunday would more than repay his fee.

Braintree's problem was deciding to go for the 0-0 after 65 mins. Grimsby looked a step ahead of them in the second half.

Well done Grimsby, I actually seriously wonder if Braintree realised thats as far as they could go without investment they arent ready for, and all but raised the white flag.
Not too concerned to be playing The Mariners, its been close over recent seasons, us generally on top at home the reverse away. Love the Grimsby fans spirit and TBF the atmosphere will be superb.
Last time I saw Grimsby in a play off final they lost to Cheltenham (Very poor) and last season of course wasnt such a show for them. We will be very likely to give them a better game than at TNL the other week, expect a very different team and mentality to then.

Speechless. We have had over 15 years of bottling games like that. Even at 1-1 I still feared the worst. I am dumbfounded.

That's what Bogle can do, that's why he has a handful of us singing his praises. From the start of the second half he was immense. Albeit against 10 men who were fucking knackered but he proved his worth tonight. Very good substitutions also from Paul Hurst Football Genius so credit to that man. I mentioned before Arnold and Marshall would be game changers in this tie.

A bit gutted for Braintree but they've embarrassed us on too many occasions and it feels fucking good to finally get one over them.

Job half done. One game to go.

That's exactly what I thought last night as Dover clearly were never interested in going to Wembley.

C'mon on pal, what's the point in making the play off semis if you have no real intention of going up? It's also disrespectful to Grimsby who had to dig deep to overturn the deficit from the first leg.

Weird delayed reaction from the crowd, almost as though they had to let it sink in for a second before celebrating!

Exactly that, it didn't seem real it felt like the whistle was going to blow any second.

One of my favourite days as a Grimsby fan.

After all the slating Hurst has had I feel it only right to say what a magnificent managerial performance that was. He got everything spot on, Marshall was absolutely unbelievable as was Arnold.

Each player to a man dragged that game back for us and I'm fucking delighted with all of them.

Credit to Braintree too, quite one dimensional in the end but it almost paid off. Great fans too, superb mutual respect between both sets at the end.

Funny i thought that ChrisFGR would be on here to congratulate us, just like he was on Thursday night after the first leg.
Guess he must be busy.

Oops, I thought there was trouble with the owners etc.? Must have it wrong
Their owners were due to pull out last season, but carried on this season IIRC. I imagine they'll try and get out again at the end of the season but they've said they will leave the Club with enough money to pay the contracts of anyone signed while they're there i.e. like Swann did at Trinity.
