Can you tell me about the 4(!) players that have come to Brackley from Solihull this close season...
(Jack Byrne, Andy Brown, Danny Lewis Connor Franklin). Should I be excited...or were you happy they moved on?

Yeah we were upset to lose them all really.
Just like this time last season we have lost many of the old guard from the season before.
Jack Byrne is a big loss, hard working tackling midfielder who puts a dependable shift in week in week out. We have brought in Darren Carter but his loss was still felt by our fans.
Andy Brown. fans favourite target man links up play and again works very hard. Never our first choice last season but will be missed. We have signed two or three replacement strikers so it was unlikely he would have been a starting player but you will like him.
Lewis good GK our first choice for much of last season and all the season before, we still haven't replaced him.
Franklin. Left back gets down the wings well defends well and a first choice player in our last two seasons when fit, he also has a great long throw. We still haven't replaced him in my opinion.

In short they are good solid and well liked players that with the excellent Gaz Dean and Armson formed a big part of the team that won the NAT North. Im sure you have another one of ours too.
In brief I would stick a fiver on you to be top 5 next season.

So we could see the team finishing 7th in the Conny competing in League Two in 2018/19? What madness is this?

Yes I know Blackpool finished 7th in League Two and will be in League One next year, but they will be joining the teams finishing second and third, having the team finishing 7th promoted over the team in 2nd seems like madness, also I'd wager in the Conference there's a far greater drop-off in quality between 2nd and 7th than there is in League Two.

Having said that, if this results in us playing Barra in the league then all is forgiven.

I'm struggling to see Solihull in the bottom four yet many of you have them down there

I'm thinking you're right Steve, after all you watch much more conference footy than I do! So I edited my table to put Solihull just above the bottom four and made some other minor changes too.

Every singing we've made so far has been excellent and the mood around the club is the best I have ever seen. Still need a couple more players, but our first XI is looking strong, and our talented youngsters provide decent cover.

Two months ago I just hoped that we would continue to exist.

Now I think I would be unhappy with 8th.

They had a poor end to last season, and there's usually at least one case of second season syndrome. I'm hardly going to give that berth to ourselves, especially as I predict a battle for 2nd best Kent club with Bromley, Sutton look like they could make the playoffs, and that only leaves Solihull. Besides, if you don't put them down there who fills the gap?

Looks like not many give us a chance next year, despite romping away with the South league last year.
( well, we would have romped clear if it hadn't been for Ebbsfleet, but we still did finish ahead of them )

However, no one seems to think Ebbsfleet will go down................strange!!

I hope we surprise a few of you next year, and with Dev at the helm, I can't see us becoming cannon fodder.

We have an excellent forward line (Tarpey with 44 league goals and Sean Marks' experience at this level with Braintree ) , a very compact and combative defence, and a hard working midfield)

I don't think we will struggle as badly as some predict. I reckon 14th for the Magpies, based on absolutely zero knowledge of the rest of you!!

As I said earlier, I couldn't make a prediction. Everyone bar Dover seem to have strengthened. Look at us last season, lost the first seven, nine points adrift but still turned it around with tenth placed form over the final thirty games.
The four promoted teams are much stronger than the four who were relegated too(bar York?). Tough, tough season to come.

I found it much harder to predict the bottom of the table than top, honestly have no idea who will go down but someone has to!

I agree with both the above posts. Anyone from about the top 4/5 down could conceivably finish anywhere between 15+ places. With so many similar standard squads, I think the managers are going to be even more important than usual, which is why I'm pretty glad we have Askey!
