The Grimsby commentator is amazing - we scored a 93rd minute winner there the other week and he very calmly described it as ‘the opening goal’.
Honestly, I've had a taste and need more. Is there a John Moore highlights compilation anywhere? Just an hour of him going 'yep' to opposition goals would be awesome.

That clip I've posted above has some good individual moments (particularly noteworthy for his "nasty" phase), but for me he really comes into his own when you get an old extended highlights video from a random game in 2002 or something. I'll start watching loads and post any good ones I find.

Haha I thought 'nasty' was a players name, the way he just drops it in without context like they do when players pass. Took me to hear a few to realise

Pretty sure he describes millers cross / shot as ‘nasty’ on the highlights from Saturday. Thought it was odd but now quite glad he used it given its a trademark comment.

The highlights are brilliant. There's one where I think Oyeleke get's absolutely smashed on the half way line and he says nobody touched him when he basically got half ended. Really made me laugh

The Commentary of the goal is doing the rounds on twitter with various other quotes and clips alongside it.

Great finish by the main man though.

I think the Notts commentary was the other guy I spoke about with the monotone voice and not John Moore.

A trait of John Moore that he used to do loads but not as much now is as soon as we got within about 20 yards of goal he would go ‘surely’ as if every time it was a near certainty that we would score.
And usually, we didn’t.

Our highlights are synced up with the local bbc radio commentary, so we at least have a professional commentator (and summariser) on ours. Other media teams should do this to avoid the tinpottery the Mariners are now being accused of.

Disagree. More heavily-accented characters with their own catchphrases please.

We have professionalism on our radio coverage with John Tonduer. I also don't feel like we're being accused of tinpottery here, are we? I think this is a celebration of a local treasure?

We could if London radio stations realised that non league existed in the Capital.

Another one he did a few times during Grimsby Do Non-League v1.0 but not really that regularly that I used to enjoy was when we went 1-0 down and came back to equalise he'd say "NOW WE CAN GO!"

I see your point. I guess one man’s local treasure is another man’s tinpot
