Only just had a look at the other scores, fair play that’s a big win for Chesterfield on the road. Can’t wait for that one under the lights now, proper big game feel to it already.

Funny old game. Everyone in the top 7 dropped points 2 weeks back today everyone in the top 7 has won.

Yes, shame Rodrigues will be suspended! Who comes in for him?

It is a shame, but also kind of interesting. Makes us very difficult to prepare for, cos it’s been so long since we’ve had a team without Ruben at the heart of it that I don’t know what we’ll do, let alone Chesterfield.

I guess Roberts plays higher and we bring O’Brien in. I’d be trying to find a way to get Cal in as a genuine winger for once and get him at Miller.

Can Roberts play on the left? He'll have to to match against Miller whose been a square peg/round hole right back for a few games now

Notts were pretty poor first half but I'm afraid you don't need to be very good to beat Southend .
Great support from Southend but they look in trouble to me, they're not chronic to watch but conceded four and it could have been more. There's a lack of grit to them that gets you points when you're not playing well I think.

Frank Vincent was an absolute firecracker for us in midfield today. He couldn't get on the bench for the first couple of months and now looks undropable.

He’s playing on the left (sort of) at the minute, but as more of a central midfielder than winger. It’s really hard to know what we’ll do without Ruben, could easily change it all up and go 4-3-3 or something.

Really boring game that. Weymouth the worst side I've seen this season

Will be a good one, no doubt, and I suspect an important one come season end. Like you I just wish we had more hands on deck for it, but it is what it is, we're all making do right now it seems

I wasn't but I stand by it. I've not done close to the 92 or more now we're in the scrap heap but Grimsby is one of the few away grounds where I always feel I have to keep my wits about me.
Maybe it's because back in the 80s I got stabbed with an umbrella by one of your lot outside a chip shop before I got in the ground then chased half way round Cleethorpes after the match by about eight fans when there were two of us just trying to get back to the car.
Well, that's shit that that happened to you and justifies your bias here in that case. I only started going to footy so I can't really speak for the 80s accurately but it does seem like it was more like the wild wild west.
Andy Morrell is such a gent. A class act.
That was Aaron McLean.

This idea that going to blundell park is akin to trying to cross the Berlin wall or visit the Gaza strip is utter nonsense. Unless you're looking for fights and arguments there's nothing to worry about. I've taken the train to cleethorpes countless times with away supporters and if you just alight it and head to a pub in cleethorpes and walk down grimsby road to the ground nobody is going to give you any trouble. Might be different if you're part of the stone island / adidas samba crowd, but thankfully my fashion sense has moved on from the 80s so I dunno what their experience is

Grimsby fan whacked me round the back of the head with a bit of branch he’d found lying about in the street on the way to ML a few years ago. He was absolutely hammered and fell over while doing it, true story.

I think it will be O’Brien rather than Mitchell or something, but you never know.

Anyway, good win, excellent 2nd half, although Southend didn’t make it too tough for us I’m afraid.

I fear that’s another two nails in Wootton’s coffin though come January, just hope we have a decent replacement lined up!

‘Tap in’ apparently!!! Controlled volley, under pressure, on his weak foot

add another £1m to the valuation for that goal alone!

What a day, what a win
Seen the goal on Twitter a little while ago, some finish that is, jesus, dropping ball, weak foot, you've seen those go out of the stadium

Strange game for us but a vital 3points. Obviously confidence from playing well last week and winning helped. we have been terrible at home most games with us lumping it up to Dan Holman who has been on his own too. Finally two forwards play together and we are much better, Lolos has been working hard when on but Armstrong and him were out on their legs a the end. Hope Holman is sent on his way now.

With us taking the lead just before half time expected the kitchen seat at us with the players they have, yes they had most of the ball but and hit the bar twice. Most of their chances, thankfully were off target.

Well my mate Denzel is not a hooligan or dresses like one. He is 56 snd he is now spending the night in hospital with 34 stitches and a nasty concussion. You lot defending those ten reprobrates really sticks in the craw

Southend United
For half hour I witnessed the best display by a Southend team for some time, years, then Nathan Ralph decides instead of just lumping it out he's going to try and take on two Notts players by the side of his own box, obviously loses the ball, which is played in for an easy goal. And that was that. We have no mental fortitude, we have no nous and ,barring a couple of players, are just so ponderous.
Hobson and Dunne are worst for this, getting the ball, taking a touch then wanting at least 10 minutes to decide just what they'd like to do with it. I'm quite pleased it's a month before I venture to Weymouth for another day out that will start well and be tainted by watching Southend United.

Thought Notts were excellent on the ball, the passing and moving great, don't know how the 18 got man of the match, the 17 was outrageously good for this level, his balls in behind and his finding of space exceptional.
Thing I'd be worried about if I was a Notts fan is how easily we made the defenders make mistakes and we weren't even very good at pressuring them consistently.
I'd say you play Notts you man mark the 17 wherever he goes and just play high and in their faces, they'll give you the ball back high up the pitch.

Thought us Bees were going to take a point from Yeovil. Yeovil came out the traps fast and first 20 minutes we couldn't really get into it. Go a goal down but rode the storm and were causing Glovers problems.

A few niggly challenges from Yeovil saw the ref dish out the yellows. Reiss Greenidge was immense at the back and from his performance certainly one the hearts of Yeovil fans.

Second half we had a decent spell of pressure but just didn't get the luck.

Must be noted we played without any forwards today. Midfielder up top replaced with 20 to go by a central defender so based on this I think we gave Yeovil a good game.

Can someone get a high pressure hose and clean all the crap off each end of the stands plastic covering...looks grubby
