I think Borehamwood have the more difficult tie out of the two of you!
Are many Sutton fans going to make the journey up to the Excelsior Stadium?

A few have booked the trip up, including myself. 50-100 would be my guess. The club is doing a beam back to GGL as well

Ben Tomlinson plays for you? Oh here we go, he's absolutely certain to score. About 30 of his career goals have been against us.
He’s been on fire and has about 7 assists to his name this season but unfortunately for us and fortunately for you he picked up an injury at Sutton and is out for a few weeks.

You know what Ben, you’re the only halifax fan on here that talks sense. Keep up the good work
Ben, here's a pro-tip for you- in my experience, as a general rule of thumb, when a Tin Potter approves of you, you need to mend your ways, fast. :bdick:

Can see us getting pumped at Boreham Wood in front of about 400..if the alarm bells aren't already ringing then they will be soon

Dont panic we were 17th last october and still managed to scrape promotion, you will hit your stride as the season goes on squad depth is massive at this level the bigger clubs can cover injuries however the smaller clubs really struggle to handle thevliss of key players

Wrexham away for us. Big game at the top with 1st vs 4th. I’ll take a point for sure and it’s exactly what I think we’ll get. Our defence is strong and Captain fantastic Matty Brown knows Fondop’s game inside out. Going forwards it suits us better than the Sutton game in terms of Wrexham’s playing style as it’s not as physical and it’s more expansive. We can aim to counter with the likes of Kosylo, Southwell and Preston. However Shaun Pearson is a posing figure so we won’t score many if any at all. 1-1 i’m going for. However I’d love for us to nick the win and make a real statement of intent.
Matt Brown has been with you for 5 seasons now. He was never very far from a mistake with us. Well done for getting a player out of him.

Usually solid these days, he did though give me a heart attack when headed the ball across his own 6 yard box in the promotion final- the only reason it didn't cost us a goal was because it was the last thing in the world that the Chorley strikers loitering at the far post expected him to do. Kev Roberts absolutely ripped his ears off!! :fl:

By the way RB, I heard some Town fans saying if we offered Chester the chance to swap our 5 years since we both made it back to the Conference Prem, in exchange for theirs, they'd snap our arms off. What would you say?

Well our 5 years in Conference Prem have been very similar to our 5 years back in the league 2004-9. A couple of good runs, but generally fighting relegation, due to shite managers Burr and McCarthy. I don't include Bignot in that as he was dealt a really shit hand, but probably wouldn't have done much in any case. Your 5 years included a play-off season iirc, so yes would swap.

Tough game tonight, If we score 1st im going 1-1, if they score first 2-1 loss. 4500 in att. We haven't played well the last 3 games. If Rendell could finished we wouldn't have won against Aldershot at the weekend, Lawlor will be in for his debut so hopefully he can slot in well, as for the rest of the team I think we need to calm down on the rotation a bit so lads can have a run of games to get a bit of form.

He’s immense for us every week and is rightly our captain. Was absolutely awful in the disastrous 2015/16 season for the first half of that season but since then he’s been top class. Would do a job in the football league imo. Opposition fans often pick him out as colossal at the back when they play us. Not sure what went wrong with him at Chester.

Where’ve you got this from? Like we’re gonna pay a fee for a 48 year old
I'm In The Know, I know people I can't name who know people they can't name at the club, if you question me you're accusing people I can't name of making it up. If you knew the people I can't name as well as they know the people they can't name at the club, well you'd know they'd be never do that. You're just going to have to trust me on this, just like I'm trusting the people I can't name know the people they can't name as well as they say they do. Anyway, I'm retired and live in Spain so it must be right, is all I'm saying. :cool1:

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Enticing televised match at 'Looville on Wednesday- not! Conference football invariably makes poor viewing, even for the committed. If rumour has it right, there may be more excitement off the pitch than on, a few old scores to be settled, Shots v Pompey. At least Havant have a poor defence, but score quite freely; Shots could'nt score in a brothel, so looks like a narrow home win.I can't make this one,so hopefully I've got it wrong.

Our demise continues. I see where this ends and it isn't pretty unfortunately. I'm about on the cusp of jacking it all in until we get the new owners as they don't deserve, nor care about the support. Ends badly for us this, and there was me hoping that this season would be the start of us stabilising and coming back

For all the worry over Barnet, they're nicely placed in mid-table despite what was sounding like a terrible start to the season?

Will the servers actually hold up long enough for everyone to make it to Saturday.

Well, we drew 0-0. Strange to see a Halifax team play quite a tactical game, they game-managed well and were only moderately rattled for about a 5 minute spell towards the end.

We are still rock solid in defence, 1 goal conceded from open play in 9 games. Just didn't create enough, but Halifax had a very solid defence themselves. Think we were worried about the counter attack in the end so it just sort of fizzled out. The disallowed goal looked like the guy was climbing all over our man on the back post.

The midfield is a tough decision to get the best trio together, Summerfield is the only certain one but then we need Akil Wright for his height and physicality, we need Rutherford's energy and workrate but also Luke Young's creativity and passing in a game like last night. I wonder if we can get all 4 into the side somehow.

We've also got that Burgess on loan who hasn't even been seen yet. And Bradley Walker or something too.

Their fans all had a meltdown after about 2 games and wanted Still OUT. He was too old, wasted all the money and assembled a terrible squad apparently.

Dagenham doing well without him too..

That first half performance was one of the worst I've seen from us in a long long time....we are shockingly bad. Saunders really has signed us a load of shite that we are now stuck with!!

Whoever gets the job is gonna have to be a miracle worker to stop this team getting relegated.

Frustrating game last night. Struggled to create chances and looked laboured.

Bates' game management in the spotlight for me, players looked clearly knackered, lack of subs. What's the point of having the biggest squad in the league if you don't use it? Was crying out for changes and we got the usual McLaughlin for Woods (who shouldn't have played last night). Burton must be on the verge of recalling Dinanga, not getting any game time.

We were still the better side last night but thankful for Barra missing the pen so we'll take a point and hope Bates learns from this.

Hoo bloody ray! What is the point of a forum that is closed for 24 hours after a night when a full programme of fixtures are played? I'm sure we all had a million things to say about the games but who gives a fuck now? Sort it out someone! :hb:

Don't worry, it's back on for the big game tonight ;)

On a serious night, this is a must win for us, although after 6 consecutive away defeats the form book doesn't look promising

The start was awful and it’s very easy for people who didn’t have to sit through those performances to now call it an overreaction- it was genuinely dire. Yes we’ve won 4 now and that isn’t to be ignored, however do notice who we’ve played - Chesterfield, Dagenham, Dover and Bromley - 3 of whom are in awful form.

I’m not getting anywhere near carried away yet. After this Saturday we have Orient away, Fylde home and Wrexham away which will give a much more realistic oversight of us as a team.

One thing I will say is that despite the image relentlessly presented by Master D, Wrexham fans are extremely nice, very welcoming and very knowlegable about the game. I can't get my head around how easily one prat on a general forum can completely distort the profile of any club's average supporter base. :box:
