I did not get a programme yesterday, they were all sold out before 2, so I don’t know his name but your 27 was best player on the pitch, possibly the best away player I have seen at Home Park this year. Totally ran the show. He is what we were told Mayor would be, but is not. Is 27 one of yours or on
Diallang Jaiyesimi on loan from Norwich. Been here since August but only played about 10 games due to injury. Done well when he has featured, a real nuisance for defenders.

Being played in his best position helps, mind. Apart from yesterday he’s been shovelled out on the wing.

With our injuries - and yesterday’s stellar performance - should see him get a good run of games.

He was not in any shape or form a league two player. Very impressive.

We had Jaiyesimi on loan a couple of years back, he had obvious quality when running at defenders but his final ball was usually lacking so I’m guessing he’s improved a lot since then.

Watch it again. It's a 50-50 foot-to-foot... Nothing in it.

The fact your player was rolling around on the floor only to miraculously spring to his feet as soon as the card was shown isnt necessarily the problem. Its just a terrible decision from the worst ref I've seen this year.

You won't win an appeal.

As to the Grandstand, have not been in it and never enjoyed it the few times I went in the old wooden seat days. What they have done is use the old framework, rather than start afresh. So I think that might explain why they think it looks odd. Personally, I like it esthetically, but you are very unlikely to find me within its confines. It is the Mayflower stand, but we tend to refer it to the Moanflower, hence why I am unlikely to visit until my eight decade except for when I do the hospitality. I will be happy when we have finished off the remaining corners.

Thanks for the response about the Grandstand, that explains why it doesn't look like one of these identikit new stands and for that you should be applauded. One of the beautiful things about supporting a smaller team is the unique stadia that exists around the country. By rebuilding and keeping the original asthetics of your old stand will help keep the 'identity' of Home Park.

That is a really tricky one. The Exeter player's foot was high and it looks like it caught the FGR on the knee. Yes he probably made a meal of it, but if you are catching players that high up the leg you are asking for trouble.

If I had to make a judgement I would say that it looks reckless rather than aggressive but on the other hand catching players that high up the leg suggests an element of dangerous tackling, hence the red card.

Yep agree with that.

Dawson had stud marks pretty high up his leg, so he was definitely caught. If it's deemed reckless or endangering an opponent it's a red, intent is irrelevant as is Dawson's reaction.

Fuck me. Log into this forum and it's still as delusional and ill-informed as ever. Jesus Christ.

They both had studs showing and at the same height. It's literally on the footage you posted. If a challenge is 'reckless' then it doesn't matter if they get the ball or not - So they both should be red carded, or neither of them.

The FGR player withdrew and didn't follow through, that's why he didn't get a red.

If you're going to screenshot, at least do it at the point of contact.

I'm far from an FGR apologist, and I'm a fan of Atangana from his time at Cheltenham, but that is a red card every day of the week. The FGR player clearly gets to the ball first and Nige is late with studs showing. Absolutely nailed on red.

12 years of officiating in the Southern National League with my Level 2b qualification.

They both went into the challenge studs up, and very high. They were both reckless, and should have both been red carded. Someone getting the ball has absolutely nothing to do with a reckless challenge. Literally none whatsoever. For example, you cannot fly in, off the ground, two footed and then claim because you got the ball it's not a red card.

Rubbish, the FGR player is in contact with the ball there whereas the other chap is nowhere near... assuming he makes contact with the FGR player its a red.

This new lurve-in between Swindle-em Town and Plymbury Arsgyle on here is definitely not helping my chronic gastric reflux.

Perhaps they should be awarded their own (un)reality TV show? (January the) First Dates, maybe?

Nice one Devon Lad. I for one had my doubts until I saw that pic, and all that screenshot of yours proves is that it was the right call.

Just because Devon Lad has decided to grace us with his presence again doesn't mean that you need to try and introduce a 'Who is the biggest bellend Exeter fan on thefootballforum.net' competition.

I mean, we all know it's me anyway.

In other news, Matt Taylor has said that we won't be appealing. Correct decision in my opinion.. No malice in the tackle, just mis-timed. You'd hope that if it was the other way round and Atangana had got to the ball first, their lad would have been sent off.

Given your sensible and reasoned response to the red card discussion, its certainly not you Mr Hutchi(n)son :)

You lot really are obsessed.

I’m also not sure how you can take the piss. We have a unique but renovated grandstand. Your new grandstand literally stretches one half of the pitch. And didn’t you get your away end from Barnet? Laughable.

I'm sure you're aware of the limited footprint that was available to our new stand....the "triangle" between the BB and OG slopes away steeply down to the road and railwayline at the Big Bank end and much of it is owned by BR.......seeing as the Big Bank is the largest standing terrace in the EFL the current refreshment and toilet facilities situated at the turnstiles between the BB and IP stands were deemed insufficient to cope with demand so extra facilities were earmarked for that akward "triangle" to ease the pressure....it works much better now.............the NOG has been positioned to start parallel with ST James end goal line and does indeed not reach full length of pitch simply because , for all practical and legal reasons , it can't..........the NOG in my eyes is a good looking stand and will do us very nicely thank you...............at least there is 100% view of the pitch as rules and regs require of a new build - remind us all again how many seats of your refurbished barn stand have NO VIEW AT ALL of their nearest goal ?......................as to our "Barnet" away stand - that was a stonking deal and once again was perfect for the footprint available and more than adequate for League 1 football next season..........................Mind the Gap bauy
