We were absolutely shocking today, never turned up until half-time and the second half was only a marginal improvement.

1st today was us our or best, we absolutely blast Carlisle away. Fantastic attacking football, Carlisle were chasing shadows. Ainley and Powell were particularly good. Can forgive them for the non event of a second half as the 1st half was special. 9 points out of 12 over Xmas is decent.

Next league game is a big one away at Swindon. Just the fa cup game with Barnsley to deal with first.

Entertaining second half, either team could've won it. Scoring has not been our forte recently but two well taken goals for us.

Just think if you hadn't of misprioritised your cup game you could have been away at the top two, for two games running

Been at work all day but I'll take an away point against play off hopefuls.

Given the state Crawley's defence was in six games ago I think Yems has done a good job in stopping the rot. Now he needs to look at the forwards and their ability to miss a barn door !

Crawley fan ejected for throwing his program in the air. Friend from Colchester saw it a said it was very silly except for the steward shoving his hand into the Crawley fans face. We upset them last season with a beach ball and this season with balloons. Were thugs down in Sussex don't cha know?

Vale all over. One win against the bottom 10 all season and that was against 10 men.
Real damp squib and a deserved draw for Macc .
Next up are the bottom 2 where undoubtedly we will falter again.
Very disappointed today but still light years better than last season

This will be seen as a pop but it isn't meant that way.
Genuine question.
Crewe fans why aren't you coming out in more numbers given the football you are playing?
Less than 4000 home fans today. They can't do anything more to attract crowds than winning and scoring

The crowds are coming back, just slowly. Bear in mind this was the second of 3 home games in 8 days.

Fantastic fight from us to play nigh on 45 mins with 10 men. Maxted, who started the season as our second choice ‘keeper, now has 10 clean sheets and kept us ahead today with two great saves.

The Atangana red was obviously a bit mistimed but when you take a player at knee height, you’re asking for trouble. He will be a big miss for 3 games as he’s been immense lately.

FGR lack a striker it seems and I see Cooper is getting some stick?

Anyway a great 3 points and we seem to be one heck of tough team to beat, which can only serve us well.

2 as we beat Carlisle!

We are better set up for playing the better teams that come out at us and allow us to high press them compared to teams who sit deep (although to be fair to Macc they had a go).

We just need the quality to unlock the door... maybe Manny will give us that when he’s back but the fact we go to most of the bottom sides away now is pleasing as they will be more open than at VP so should be arguably easier for us to play against with the preferred high press.

Macc weren’t a bad side they don’t lose many and have some tidy players, remains to be seen if they will lose them which is what will decide their fate but they seem similar to Stevenage in that they are down there (18th without the deduction) because they draw to many rather than getting beaten week in week out for example.

Thought you looked a decent team. Moved the ball well and that first goal was a stunner. Bit disappointed with the second one as he seemed to have acres of space he was allowed to run forward into. Then again our first one was a fluke.

Either way hopefully Macc can sort out their off field issues. Sad to see what that clown has done to your club.

New year's Day always tends to see a little dip in the crowd. But on the whole I agree, this team deserves more support.

True enough and it's an expensive time of year for people.
Like say wasn't an anti Crewe thing .
Sadly for ourselves 3000 of the 8000 who are going to Man City for a tenner couldn't be arsed with either of our 2 home games !

Worst we’ve played for a while but we finally get the 3 points. Won’t be studying the Mansfield match too closely as it’s not really enough time for the new manager to work with the team. But a new era starts now.

We bucked that trend today with an extra thousand on the gate from the Crawley game’ mainly of course thanks to the Holloway factor.

I think we’re both in the same boat tbh, though obviously we’ve had a few more games under our manager.

Both will be satisfied with ending their winless runs also.

Great test of our squad today. Decimated at the back, devastating going forward. Hopefully getting a CB in before Saturday.

Our replacement CB who played at Vale did his hammy in training yesterday so we lost 4 players in that game alone.

Bring on the Tykes!

If the ref had actually done his job today and given that foul on montano 20 yards from goal then macclesfield wouldn't have got that 2nd goal. I'm sick of refs giving everything against vale untill they start giving us decisons then I'm not going anymore as I'm fucking fed up with it.

I see the letter from your chairman or whoever didn’t work?

What letter from the chairman I dont even know what your on about.

Wasn’t someone at your club moaning about the refs a while back as well and wrote a letter to the FA or referees association or something.

No it was at the beginning of last season the fa had apparently sent us 3 or 4 letters if apology for decisons going against us penalties offside goals given . That was Neil aspin saying that no idea if it was true though. If any club actually put a complaint in about an official it would probably get ignored by the fa.

I’m not sure if we wrote a letter but there was a cringeworthy statement put up on the club website highlighting a bunch of decisions which went against us around the time we lost at Cheltenham last season. I think it was more an attempt to deflect criticism from Smurthwaite than anything else. Just made us look an absolute joke in the process.

When are we playing Barnsley or have I missed the joke?!

Very impressed we managed to pinch a win at Home Park especially 3 days after defeat at Vale. I expect both clubs to be top 7.

Wellens has put some pride back into our club. It feels good to be a Town fan again after a few poor years.

At the start of the season I was worried as our first 11 looked decent but I was worried about the depth. But the players that have come in have been brilliant. Porter, Nolan, Lancashire, Pickering all put injured today. But the likes of Ainley, Anene, Green, Finney, Adebesi all have come in, on recent weeks and have been brilliant. Also Nicky Hunt, supposed to be back up, but at 36 has been fantastic week in week out. Ainley has probably secured himself a starting place after two great performances in a row. It's fantastic competition and keeping everyone on there toes.

Tyke is a general term for anyone from Yorkshire. My dad taught me that being from Tadcaster.

Can I just say, I have never been called a Tyke, nor have I ever labelled anyone a Tyke - even my Barnsleh fwends.

We might be 9 points clear of the drop zone, but we are in sorts of bother right now. 1 win in 14 games now since October and in our 3 games over the festive period, we've been very abject and laboured.

3 games in 6 days can usually lead to some very scrappy games at these levels - Our game today was like that. Walsall fully deserved the win, we looked laboured and offered next to nothing - even in the final 20mins against ten men we never looked like scoring. The players are starting to look lost with us now.

Embleton hasn't utilised our squad at all this past week - Same midfield, same mistakes, same problems. We also concede far, far too many free kicks.

He was nearly in tears in his post match interview - saying he's not too sure whats going on. Martin Ling also came across as not knowing what we are going to do next.

Our board need to get their finger out now, or we will end up fucking ourselves over.

Either appoint Ross pernamently (although he is out of his depth) and let him bring 4-5 players in, or bring Tisdale in and let him bring one new coach with him.
