Points gap between Liverpool and 1st when Jürgen Klopp took charge = 6.

Points gap between Liverpool and 1st right now = 9.
Seven wins out the last nine, 2 defeats in 17, yes stats can be used to make all sorts of points.

Newcastle lucky to win but we didn't deserve to win this either. Said it would be tough game, and so it was. At least this shows klopp we need a proper CM.

Nice one by Klopp at the end, congratulating McClaren.

If Klopp was annoyed at the Palace game where lets be honest they were unlucky, he will be fuming that they didn't perform against relegation fodder. Not the time of season to put in poor shifts, he may start looking tonight who he could bring in in January. ;)

You're further from the top than you were when he took charge? Results can be deceiving, and turn Liverpool fans into deluded fools.

You'll be sobbing into yer Nooky Broon come season end when you realise how many years it will take to gain promotion from the Championship whilst Liverpool will be battling Barca in the CL next year. ;)

Arsenal fans are the kings of delusion.

Typical.

Our problem of breaking down parked buses hasn't gone anywhere. Palace, Swansea, today didn't even test Elliot, really. Although Benteke should have scored one yard out in the 1st half. And we were robbed of a point when Moreno's wonderful goal was wrongly ruled out for offside, it would have been 1-1 then

Our passing was incredibly bad and it was like I worried, we had no playmaker when Lallana didn't start and Coutinho was out. I like it that Ibe has courage to try and take defenders on, but sometimes he needs to play it smarter and improve his decision making.

Whisper it quietly but Firmino is looking like a 100% counter-attacking player or a poacher. Did nothing today and certainly isn't a playmaking AM and not a winger, either.

Disappointing stuff and I hope Klopp realizes now that we need either Coutinho or Lallana on the pitch, unless we can be sure to be able to play on the counter.

Up the toon.

Maybe a team with calamitous CBs and a midfield consisting of Allen, Lucas and Milner isn't capable of winning the league afterall.

dilema. do i go to the pub with a liverpool supporting mate and spend my afternoon laughing at him and his (geordie accented) dad when we inevitably thump them 2-0, or do i stay home and enjoy my beer while listening to my newcastle supporting mate shout encouragement at the tv for a couple of hours? decisions, decisions :pond:

great call by me

It's a bit of a dumb way to analyze things to be honest. We're not title contenders and the gap with top spot is bound to grow as the season progresses.

If we're 9 points behind top spot come May, then Klopp would have done a great job with the squad we have.

Is there anything better than watching Liverpool lose? well yes there is you could predict the score too and back it........45 nuggets

No-one loses to the barcodes do they?

If anybody can it's Liverpool, wow they're so hit and miss. With no quality striker in the squad fit or un-fit and with Horrenderson as your best play maker Liverpool will obviously struggle and i think the Geordies will pile on the pressure for Flopp

2 - 0 Toon
