Not got our tickets yet, whenever I go on seetickets they always allocate seating where we don’t want to sit. Crap ticketing system!
I don't think they'll release any more, so I'd get the best of the remaining tickets before they go!

Newport owe everything to us ;) - After our youth team humilated Graham Westley 4-0 on his own patch and got sacked, I honestly thought Newport would join us in being relegated in 2017. We already had one foot in the grave, because of our owner forcing the youth team to be deployed.

I just remember how bad that Newport team was that day, totally out played and out fought by a very, very young side at the time with only 3 senior pros.

Westley was rightfully sacked, I thought Michael Flynn had no chance - Turns out he was the saviour. Sometimes hammering defeats can lead to better things!
That game was shocking. Westley had well and truly lost the plot by that stage and most of us thought our short stay in the EFL was over. On the same day Hartlepool beat Exeter to go 12 points above us with 12 to play so it was a remarkable end of the season for us. Day, Demetriou, Labadie, O’Brien, Butler and Bennett all played v Orient and all will start this Sat v Tranmere. Sid Nelson also played for us that game and will prob start for Tranmere against us.

You didn't actually need the wink - we do owe everything to you. 4-0 against your under twelves flattered us hugely. I took an eight year-old to his first County game that day. Extended his vocabulary significantly.

Ticket sales now at 8,500, btw.

Sid Nelson has been outstanding the last few games having come in to replace the injured Mark Ellis. He and Manny Mouthe have formed a very good partnership at the back. Millwall released Sid last week and the vast majority of Rovers fans would be very happy if we could sign him up on a two year deal.

Can believe that. Sid was popular when he was with us. Hope he has a mare Saturday obviously. Played for Swindon against us this season too.
About the only good thing to come out of Westley's tenure was that he did sign a few decent players such as Nelson. Others included Demetriou, O'Brien and Pipe who are all still with us. Alex Samuel was tidy too, now at Wycombe I think. Problem was Westley didnt have a bleeding clue and couldnt get a tune out of those he signed - we started the 0-4 defeat to Orient with 5 CBs and we were 0-3 down by half-time.

wembley is so shit for atmosphere. even when theres 40k attendance its crap. the only time it's vaguely alright is when it's sold out. would rather we had league finals at some other random league ground.

The atmosphere was brilliant at our final last season with 16,000 in the stadium. It is not the ground that makes an atmosphere, it is the people in attendance.

I would be gutted if I was making a trip to the Britannia Stadium or the Madejski on Saturday, rather than Wembley.

Personally, I'm not a cheerleader for Wembley, preferred the Millenium Stadium for Swansea v Barnsley play-off, even though the team I was supporting that day didn't win. However, RLC is right that it's the supporters rather than the venue which makes the atmosphere.

Most Tranmere supporters who were at Wembley on 12th May 2018 describe it as their greatest day watching Rovers. So, for them and me, it was certainly 'brilliant'.

5th May 2013 wasn’t too shabby either.

The Millennium was a fantastic venue for the playoffs - but then I'm biased as we won twice there and lost in our only trip to the modern Wembley.

Head and shoulders better than Wembley. Seats are closer to the action. City centre location, easy to get to with loads of pubs and eateries.

Would prefer Newport to win for 2 reasons;

Just about doable by train, and the first leg of my play off treble (with Villa and Charlton)

10,000 sales for Newport now, with about 12,500 tickets sold by Rovers.

They should reserve a northern, midlands and southern ground and play it wherever is most central for 2 teams.

Villa Park is much easier to get to for both teams, half the travel time and subsequently half the travel cost. Could add a few thousand on the gate due to that.

30,000 in a 42000 stadium or 25,000 in a 90000 one?

I still prefer Wembley for historical and sentimental reasons. Wembley is the home of English football, not the other grounds mooted, plus it is genuinely neutral. The thought of having to play a final at Anfield or Goodison. Urgh.

It seems that our following will be about 13,000 in total. Any up to date figures from Newport ?

On the basis of former players alone, I'm supporting Newport.

Norwood was very young and raw when he was with us but that doesn't excuse his Billy Big Bollocks with nothing to back it attitude at the time. Scot Bennett, however, was thoroughly unspectacular but pretty reliable and professional.

Wembley, The best stadium in the world when you win and easily the worst when you lose.
