Given the robbery of Stockport we’ll take that bit of luck this week given that we’ll no doubt be handed a shocker at some point in the next game or 2, such is the standard of refereeing down here.

Its hard to understand how so many refs can get things so often wrong and be paid to do so

I can't believe the bend he's got on it, didn't realise at the time from where I was. He's turned it a couple of foot to find the top corner.

Painful highlights to watch. Still can't believe we've dropped 2 points there. I think a chunk of the blame lies in us trying to shut up shop at 2-1 instead of just pushing for a 3rd. Hard to see from the video if Clarkes was a pen or not, but if there's any contact at all there it should have been a pen. Yellow card for diving looks very harsh. Shit reffing

Let's not forget cheek equalised with a handball.

While we’re on terrible officiating, have a look at our disallowed goal at the end of this. One of the worst offside decisions I’ve ever seen. Only the three defenders playing him on.

Mate there’s people all over the pitch and running track, kids, middle aged chaps, the lot, someone stood there at the end shaking the players’ hands, it definitely counts as an ‘invasion’ in football supporting parlance. Personally I’m not knocking it as I love a good invasion, I’m just asking if it’s tinpot to do it in September against 10 man Barnet.
Ah yes, the famous Blundell Park running track. :err:
The Grimsby lot of chomp don’t they - very hungry lot.
The Grimsby lot what mate?

For the record, as some of you don't seem to understand the rules, you can't just make stuff up and then when you're corrected claim it as a chomp. Unless we're discussing wages and transfer fees then it's absolutely fine to make up any old nonsense.

Maidenhead away. This is going to be a tough one after being mauled 4-0 by Woking the week before and suffering an abysmal 1-4 defeat on our last visit to York Road... or so I thought.

4-0 up at half time doesn't happen very often and me and Jnr were a bit gob-smacked come the half time whistle. But... this is Torquay United...and the inevitable happened. 0-4 shortly became 1-4, shortly became 2-4 and shortly became 3-4... panic stations all over the field (and off it) as Maidenhead had attack after attack after attack but could not find a way through the resolute Gulls' defence. Held on for our first win of the season (just!).

Ah well, nice easy to trip up to Grimsby coming up next week.... should be a doddle seeing as they only just won against ten-man Barnet at the weekend.

COYY!

Errrrmmm, I just spent the best part of £100 on a train to Torquay so you lot better not be coming up to us.

I'm quite good at this fixture malarky. I did actually mean 'game with' not 'trip up to'. That'll teach me to read what I've typed before I post it....

In my defence.... ermmm.... there is none... I'm just bloody useless.

Last invasion of this quality of flailing arms was the late goal against Notts to keep us up and Notts down; it has to be verging on tinpot given the opposition, but I confess to leaping about at home. However, England had just got two Indian wickets in an over and then Town got the winner at the same time. I think that justifies my flailing arms at least. Not sure the Pontoon were party to the news from the Oval though...

I'm with the Grimsby fans on this one, I dont care who you are playing you come back from 3 - 1 down with a last minute free kick winner you are going to go a bit mental. Whats the point in going if you dont?

Not every goal has to be a Phil Jevons winner at Anfield for a bit of a flailing arm session!

You mean like when Lew says you were robbed at Stockport when your goal from basically your only shot in the whole game was rightly ruled out for a blatant push?

Thanks for explaining the rules we’ve been doing it all wrong before you lot came.

Can’t deny it, that’s a shocker. The commentary guys were not impressed with the lino’s decisions throughout the match.
Not a dull game, anyway, entertaining for a change.

Again, at the risk of agreeing with Grimsby fans twice in one lifetime, if that foul was given against my team I'd be fuming. I suspect you guys would be too.

Maybe I’m too used to clean sheets and Rusk ball but my god the defending in that game!

Aldershot defenders looked like they were having a competition to see who could look the most lethargic and incompetent. Not sure who won the contest but it was very highly contested.

No I’d say it was a bit soft but a blatant push because that’s what it was.

We went all boring and pragmatic against Wrexham, but typically that’s what our games are like under Burchnall.

Some awful anti-Grimsby bias on display here. Calm down with all the jealousy lads.

Bit of piss-taking between the Brothers that's all; of the Brothers we are probably the most prone to violent mood swings from near wrist slashing to flailing arms joy. A few issues that we have to iron out after years of abuse by our previous guardian - JSF...

Can't say anything to the Grimsby lads on here without them biting your head off. I learned that the hard way.

Can’t believe they’d do that to such an unassuming delicate flower like yourself Stocky.

Absolute meanies.

From looking at the Barnet highlights for me both were pens as they both hit their arms and on closer look the first one was as blatant as you will get, the second I wasn’t sure about until I watched it again but It definitely hit his arm although I agree that no way should it have been a red card with the speed it flew at him, very harsh that and it also looked like the shot might have been going over the bar anyway.

Also after watching the Stockport highlights I know the Stockport fans who were there saw it from a different angle and most said it was a push so fair enough if that’s how it looked, but from the angle on the highlights which is of course the only angle that we have seen it from it looks like pretty much nothing so you can’t really blame any of us for thinking that it shouldn’t have been disallowed going off what we’ve seen from those highlights.

You can’t see the outstretched arm and push (admittedly not a very hard one) into the back as our defender had both feet off the ground going for the header?

I've never seen anything in the entire world as intrinsically wrong as Bromley getting a point from that game and I used to live next door to Fred West.

Think that first disallowed goal is harsh as well tbf, did not look to be in control.

We'd made them work hard, by the time the last one went they'd done a lot of chasing down.
Having said that, our captain Kyle Cameron defended like a traffic cone for their second.

…is that it?
:dis:…That’s one way of saying youve never kicked a ball in your life before Jacob if you can’t appreciate that!

The difficulty of that technique on the half volley with the ball bouncing up at you almost directly underneath your body…:eyes: and to then go and put it in the top banana from the corner of the box… so, so good (even better live of course)
