Watched the highlights and Pearson looked arthritic for the first goal then did his thing of blaming someone else even though he fucked up. Got megged then his legs just didn't work. Then got beaten off the throw-in and started harassing the ref claiming some sort of imaginary infringement had occurred, anything. It was simply flicked on and then chested home

Awful flap by the Barnet keeper on the second pen incident. I reckon both fairly harsh but were pens, can't go round waving your arms like that in the box. I'd want them given for my team. Not even sure that shot for the second wasn't going directly over the stand.
Like a jealous ex…

Seriously though, it was good to see him back to his old self, he was never good against pace and to be fair to him, he was always the loudest voice on the pitch whatever happened. The appealing for the third was merely for a second, whereas McKeown actually ran over to the ref screaming, probably because he was at fault.

Kewell just showing his true colours. Yeovil fans have hated him for years
Why do you hate Kewell? Never really noticed him when he was at Crawley and left pretty much no imprint when he was sacked by us, almost like he was never here.
I remember him for getting sent off on his debut when we lost by five at Exeter and for playing Carl Brisley, ( every inch a static head it kick it centre half ) in centre midfield at Macclesfield. Other than that he was prickly when interviewed and that's about it.

Kewell with the most generic post match comments imaginable. I'm increasingly convinced he's a bot and that we are living in a simulation.

I wasn’t there myself but from others (not just my very biased Son) his comments about them dominating large spells of the match are complete bullshit.
Seems Barnet dominated for 15-20 minutes after it went 1-1 but the rest of the game we were well on top unless everybody else is lying.

It’s only because he dived to win a penalty against us in the FA cup when playing for Liverpool. We’re all still very bitter about it.

Quality ongoing bitterness that is. A number of town fans suffer from it as you will have noticed, including me.

I will never forgive Ross fucking Joyce. Never.

I still detest Bristol Rovers from the 80s, largely because George Courtney, the ref, disallowed a good goal in the Freight Rover semi final. It's not just me either, " still hate Bristol Rovers" always comes out when we play them.

Made hard work of it yesterday, bit sloppy at times and Aldershot were certainly better than previewed by their fans, which I’m sure must have surprised them too, but got the job done in the end. Eight goals in four games now for our front 3, if they can stay fit/not be sold for the majority of the season I think we’ll go close.

Wootton has been brilliant so far. Looks to have added a new clinical edge to his game since last season. Roberts and Rodrigues haven’t been at it properly yet but still have four goals and four assists between them in four games. Mitchell had a very good second half yesterday too and is playing his way into contention. Great options going forward, but we need to find a balanced/normal way of playing where we aren’t leaving ourselves so ridiculously open to the counter attack.

That’s funny because it’s not even BRovers’ fault!

Brian Hill! One plucked from the large archive of traumatic Notts memories.

Decent fight on the pitch as well to be fair. If you never liked the bastards clap your hands.

Sousa looks as good as Darlo said, don't think Barnet can complain about either pen to be honest, first is blatant hand ball, his hand doesn't need to be out like that. Second is probably harsh but looks like he has tried to save the shot. Three softish goals for us to concede, especially the first and third.

Have to say Taylors is a great goal too.

Does a pitch invasion for a goal against 10-man Barnet in early September qualify for the tinpot thread?

After a 3 goal comeback against any team in the division with a last minute winner I'm sure that most people would go nuts. Behave yourself.

A few fans jumping over the advertising hoarding after a goal definitely isn't a pitch invasion.

Wouldn't call it a pitch invasion, more a couple over excited kids that think they are hard because they got past a few old stewards

To send him off for that second penalty is an absolutely stupid decision from the referee. Fucking hell.

How can you say there’s intent when it’s that close to him and struck with such speed…

Not even sure it hits his arm. Red card is very, very harsh.

3 separate chomps within 1 hour of a Monday morning. Bravo sir.
Can't claim a chomp when you're being corrected.

Yeah, it's a pen but not a red for me. I'd be pissed off I was a Barnet fan. Won't be losing any sleep over it as a Town fan after we were robbed of a win from a very harshly disallowed goal midweek vs Stockport though.

It's not as much fun logging onto this forum on a Monday morning when your team hasn't won...

As I'm sure folk have ascertained from my fellow internet cafe members, we should have won that match. We played some nice football and their bald keeper made three belting saves, the third of them from Grimes was outrageous in real time. Credit to Bromley who hung in there. Certainly can't say they deserved their equaliser but we defended poorly (classic poor Chesterfield defence amirite) and were asking for it really. Ref was dire but correct shouts on the Clarke dive and the Maguire pen, he says through gritted teeth.

And of course, Michael fucking Cheek scored and shushed the crowd for some reason.

I can't believe the bend he's got on it, didn't realise at the time from where I was. He's turned it a couple of foot to find the top corner.

Painful highlights to watch. Still can't believe we've dropped 2 points there. I think a chunk of the blame lies in us trying to shut up shop at 2-1 instead of just pushing for a 3rd. Hard to see from the video if Clarkes was a pen or not, but if there's any contact at all there it should have been a pen. Yellow card for diving looks very harsh. Shit reffing

Mate there’s people all over the pitch and running track, kids, middle aged chaps, the lot, someone stood there at the end shaking the players’ hands, it definitely counts as an ‘invasion’ in football supporting parlance. Personally I’m not knocking it as I love a good invasion, I’m just asking if it’s tinpot to do it in September against 10 man Barnet.
