So you're English, but support a Welsh club. Says it all really. Who's you're real team?

ENGLISH AND PROUD

This isn't an EDL rally you know.

Tbh I'm not interested in the merits of the FGRs model of ownership. I just made a comment on how the away support of a club who were top of the league was a bit disappointing.

Just so people know I'm a supporter of immigration etc etc and don't agree with the views of Chris FGR on this one my biggest hate are the so called English defense leagues...

So being proud of my country, and proud to support an English club (unlike EnglishRed) makes me EDL does it?

I never said anything about immigration, or politics.

Bloody hell it was a joke. Calm down.

I was born in England. I moved to North Wales as a kid. Personally I consider myself British. I've never understood this Scottish/Welsh/English thing.

It's defence with a 'c' and someone's gotta stick up for this country.
We're losing it.

What do you mean you've never understood it? They're three separate countries.

I read a lot about how the fan base is being grown but there is little to no evidence of that

FGR Average attendances in last 6 seasons

2010-11 - 950
2011-12 - 1035
2012-13 - 1179
2013-14 - 1195
2014-15 - 1502
2015-16 - 1662

Wrexham once pulled in,if that's the right term, less than 900 for a league game with Hartlepool

We went through a period of frequently getting around the 1000 mark and yes, dipping underneath.

Tinpot.

I actually wasn't (well maybe a bit) making fun of FGRs away attendance. It just struck me as dissapointingly low given their league placing. Chris did have a valid point about the weather, and for play to those who did travel. Would have just been nice if there had been a few more.

But FGR are based in Nailsworth-a one horse town of 6,000 inhabitants, ffs!
And they share the town with another club.

Wow, that's not a whole lot more then we used to average at The Lawn in our early Conference days, and less then we averaged when we won the Southern League in 98!

To get back on topic there was a poor amount of FGR fans at our place on Saturday. Youd never think they were top of the league.

With our game being on telly, I actually think our attendance will be quite low. We'll break 100, probably 150, but not many more in my opinion.

To be fair that was in the mid 80s with hooliganism in full flow when we frequently finished near the bottom of division 4.

Yeh,the Frontline and the Babyliners, your mob waiting on the corner of Crispin Lane after the game, our lot steamin' out the away end onto Mold Road and turning cars over on that waste ground behind the garage.
Being put on the special with no stop at Chester, etc.
Yep,it was a bit naughty back then.

C'mon be fair. The weather was atrocious - tipping it down at TNL which did deter a few.
And while on coach there were two separate pitch inspections
plus on buying a ticket we were all given a pass ticket for rearranged game should it be called off.
Your home crowd was one of the lowest of the season probably for reasons above.
To get just under 100 FGR fans up north under those conditions was very good, almost double our usual number.
