No biting from me. Was genuinely surprised at how quiet you were considering its a derby and you won, you and Bristol Rovers must have the worst repertoire of chants in football.
What's wrong with Irene ? :dk:

I will have to take your word for that as I only had it on the radio, but still only heard our fans for the whole game really. Of course the atmosphere could of indeed been hampered by the fact the powers that be in that area couldnt give a monkeys about your club and are more than happy to treat a non league fixture between two clubs without any major history of hooliganism (or whatever its called these days) like an old firm clash, firstly moving it to the most inconvienient time for both sets of fans and then deciding empty seats would be much more beneficial than cash in your clubs coffers. I've no doubt we could of filled those empty seats. Somebody out there really doesn't like you and if they continue you may pressing that reset button again.

Bit of an exaggeration.

You were pretty quiet as well and you can't really blame that on anyone either. The occasional cry of 'Super White Army' went out, but that's just about it.

I Seriously Detest That Chant. It's become a slow dull monotonous drone especially at home games.

Grimsby fans were a credit to their club yesterday, fantastic support and numbers.

Yes a coupljustnt onto the pitch but it was all in good nature.
Could you please pop onto your forum and tell that to some of your fans who seem to think we are all trouble causers looking for a fight just because one guy out of 1700 shouted racist abuse at Halifax, and one guy last season didn't want to lose his beach ball!

Did you forget to put your hearing aid in? There was loads more than that. We're not the loudest, but Chester can hardly brag. You had more fans at PP and made less noise even before we scored the first.

What are the chances, realistically,of either of you ever re-joining the Football League?

I suppose if we can squeak into the play offs we have a fighting chance but for me one of whoever doesn't win the title out of the top three looks the best bet. As I believe we are in a good position financially to go again next season and make a fist of it. The other lot judging on the match last week, not a hope in hell.

I suppose you got going a bit in added time just before the end. Flat atmosphere on the whole really.

Yeh,unlikely Chester will ever get back,I think. They're probably competing at their optimum level by being in the National Lge.
Tranmere should, with their 5,000 gates,be back in div4 within a season or two.

I know his was a wind up but its an intwresting question.Tranmere should be able to compete every season. For Chester it's going to be very difficult. Smaller teams than Chester (Braintree, Dover, Woking, Macclesfield) have managed to challenge for the play offs. Just like us the play offs are their most realistic chance of promotion.

Crewe would probably go bust and never reappear.

Wrexham should be competing, with Tranmere, for the title.
Your gates are good enough.
Chester, traditionally, have a limited support so they'd have to get very lucky to be competing at the top of the Conf.

When have you ever heard of Crewe in financial trouble? Ok,we've no money but we always pay our bills and balance the books.

trouble is those 5,000 gates are easily gazumped by the wave of a wealthy chairman's money wand. i think we can certainly stay competative in this league for the foreseable future but I'm pressuming there are always going to be more than one club throwing more cash than us at the escape plan.

Being 100% fan owned we are entirely self funded. We can provide a decent budget year on year but it's always going to be well under what the top 4 or 5 teams can provide.

Now relegated teams are going to get an even more generous parachute payment I'm sure you'll be fine.

How about joining the Welsh League? You'd stand a better chance in that, surely.
Might be an option for Chester too considering they play in Wales.

Two reasons: 1) You're Welsh
2) You'd find it a bit easier.

3) we've been in the English league system longer than Crewe

You've won the Welsh cup before. You should give the Welsh leagues a go? A short hop over the border. Might be a nice change of pace not being the smallest team in whichever league you are in.
