Not sure about rejecting figures because I don't like it. You just know when clubs willy wave. It's like a fylde fan trying to tell me they had 800 at Chorley when every other figure I'd seen banded about was way below.
I used most of Halifax stats as their figures plucked out of thin air looked about right. But as you're keen to get that in as it's about the biggest following in your nine year history it can easily be put in. Suppose them estimates must've been low because you weren't Particularly vocal and it didn't sound like you had many there.

You keep on talking about estimates- "904" doesn't strike me as an estimate, it suggests they may have asked someone, let's say for example oh I don't know, Chorley FC. You appeal for actual figures for your table throughout the season, I don't know how much more official the figures can be than printed in the club programme. I may be wrong in assuming you were absent from all but one of these games, but if you think you know better from 50 to 150 miles away who am I to argue. :bdick:

A totally official 1941 Chorley watching them lose at Halifax in the playoffs. A modern level six record of 7920 in total.
If only half of them fans had been there when the original most needed them.

According to our chairman there were circa 15,000 Tranmere fans at Wembley on Sunday. Presumably that leaves approximately 3,000 FGR, plus a few neutrals.

Nailsworth FC really are the next Rushden and Diamonds waiting to happen.

3k is a really poor effort for a play off final. Is that normal in this league?

3k is better than 12 Telford fans that came to our place 3 or 4 seasons ago.

A play off final though, 3k, jesus christ. We've only been in one and we took 19000 hangers (on) to Cardiff.

Forest Green average how many, 2000? Surely they should've got at least 8-10k for the day out?

No chance of 8-10k. The club is situated in rural Gloucestershire, no one from Gloucester or Cheltenham is going to support them (especially the latter). They get decent home attendances considering their limited catchment to draw fans from and average about 1,500. They are essentially at their limit fans wise which shows what a pointless endeavour FGR are. Just a PR stunt for Ecotricity.

They were also in the play off final last season, so a lot of the hangers on are less likely to go again especially at the ticket prices charged.

Better than last season though, when they took 2500. It's just plain wrong that they've been allowed to, effectively, buy a place in the Football League at the expense of the real football clubs.

We can but hope. Don`t get me wrong on the day they deserved to win, albeit against a injury hit team missing 3 guaranteed starters (two of which were in the NL team of the season), but to see their pathetic support, the antics of some of their players in the last 20 minutes aided and abetted by a shockingly weak referee (who surprise surprise has been promoted with them in the FL. I wonder how he got that gig. Based on any of the 3 games I witnessed him in charge of Mr Backhouse is nowhere near FL standard), the comments of their idiotic aging hippy chairman and arrogant manager together with the coverage on the media afterwards about "the plucky little village team who have fought their way into the football league" with no mention of their bankrolled status and their multi million pound loss every season did nothing to endear them to me and their obvious future demise will give me nothing but a feeling of "I told you so". Bitter ???? You bet I am !!!!

Newport only took about 3 or 4k when. they beat us a few years back.

Makes our 8K last weekend look respectable. Is that correct though? Its a big city with a fair old catchment area, I'd expect a club like them to get close to the 20K mark?

Well the overall attendance was 16,346 so 3-4K sounds not too far off the mark as Wrexham were a top Conference team back then and would've taken good numbers.

I'd argue that we outnumbered them 2:1, so around 10k from us and 5k from Newport.

Are you getting Newport confused with someone else? Their average attendance this season was less than 3k. They have no fans.

I seem to remember seeing something saying we took around 11k to that Play offs (we'd taken 18k to the FAT a few weeks before, an expensive few weeks!) So they had at most 5k.

They'll be back down here soon.
