What accounted for the massive home turnout?
Officially, there were 977 Barnet fans bored to death of Stillball in a crowd of 1864 at B’wood. I don’t think there would be 900 home fans at a B’wood match ever though.

We're a big club.

We always get a big turnout Boxing Day home or away, but I think people were chomping at the bit that this latest joke club was in town and wanted to see us destroy them.

The anger comes from seeing the Fleetwoods, Crawleys and Forest Greens of years gone by who have stolen league places away from Proper Clubs due to insane spending. And the numerous others who have tried and are still trying to.

You were doing alright, then you went and signed 2 Shaymen……
Denton is awful..I can't even remember who the other one is which sums up my apathy but we've signed some real dross which has to be blamed on Allen but unfortunately he is a small part of the bigger problem, we're going through players, backroom staff and managers like hot dinners. Pep would struggle to sort us out with this board in charge

Denton wasn't a Shayman when you signed him. Dan Gardner and Jordan Sinnott. The Shaymen- Turning Everything To Shit Since 1911.

100ish Hampton out of 2516 at Woking. It was segregated but can’t seem to find an official figure anywhere.

Given Fylde's average home gate, 85 away fans for a boxing day match less than 90 mins away is poor. Has the chairman stopped subsidising their away travel?

Guess all the school kids that get the freebies at home don't make for a decent away following.

Just a typical Tin Pot profile- the newbie fans, who only discovered their town had a football team after the money started going in, don't do away games. Its the same with Crawley, Fleetwood, Forest Green, Solihull, Salford et el- Salford brought less than 400 to The Shay for a promotion semi final 40 minutes away. Chorley, a real team whose success is founded on their supporter base, brought 2000 for the final, 90 minutes away. Let's just stop with the pretence that these money bags clubs are in any way REAL football clubs. :£:£

Yes, our average attendance is 5,200 this season, which really isn't too shabby. Looking at the attendances in League 2 that would make us the sixth best supported club, and that is with very few away fans.

4000 is big in this league. Shame that you'll never hit those dizzy heights.
We got double that last year in Conference North. It was a national record at level 6. I'm surprised you didn't hear about it. :bdick:

What do the 4000 Wrexham fans who only come for one match a season do the rest of the time?

We're in the National League.

Our average is still more than 3 times Halifax's average.
Not exactly a surprise when you've only got 2 other clubs in Wales, and none in North Wales to compete with is it? How many do you reckon you'd get if you were 20 miles from Leeds, a 20 minute drive from Huddersfield and Bradford, oh and Man U and Man C within 30 miles? About same as us, probably. :ds:

No idea, but at least we know they're out there.

You're probably not aware but Proper Clubs always have big turnouts on Boxing Day games, it's the way it's been for about 100 years. Orient would likely have had 8,000 too if they were at home.

Eastleigh get more than them. Imagine the embarrassment of that.
We get the same support whatever league we're in, be it Unibond North or League 1. Ours are REAL fans. Clubs like Eastleigh, Harrogate, Salford et al have approximately 200 fans each, that's how many went along before the money went in. The rest are bandwaggoners who will vanish when the money inevitably runs out and they fall back to where they belong. Oh and by the way, we've had 8k in our ground twice in 3 years....... as you say, we don't know where they go to but at least we know they're out there. :bdick:
