Credit to anyone that travels to away games, but when you're in with a chance of the play-off. Clubs would be expected to at least 3 figures in terms of away following. Tinpot club.

Why would clubs be expected to take triple figure away support? Just to satisfy some internet people? That’s a tinpot mentality. And I’m speaking as someone who regularly travels a 400 round trip for home games and travels all over the country (plus going to Ireland and Scotland this season) to watch my team. I’m even having to do an overnight stay on Saturday. We should be focusing on the positive that anyone would travel to watch non-league Football rather than having pathetic digs at what we consider small numbers (and we’re only having those digs because that team is outperforming our own)

Well Jared, I know your lot have never been a league club but in the proper leagues level of support is important and is something to be debated. It happens in the Prem as well as L2 on relative scales. It doesn't so much down here as the mentality is different, it's all nicey nicey and backslaps all round for attending a game at your local club. Darlo are not in any way the same club as they were but the fans are still steeped in league mentality and have that in their DNA to travel the length and breadth of the country to follow their side. So that'll be why clubs like that take the piss out of Spendy and whoever else. Traditional NL sides generally take much smaller proportions of fans to aways than ex league teams so they come in for stick. That's just the way it is. If you don't like it, fine, just bring in the natural order and you won't have to worry about clubs banging on about this down here ever again.

I've never heard of us being mocked (on a wide scale) for our level of support, which isn't bad in all honesty bearing in mind the clubs around us. In my lifetime home crowds were always average for L2 and L1 we regularly got at least 4/5 sometimes averaging over 6k, which is respectable enough for those levels. And both Darlo and Pools have always travelled relatively well so have a go at us for being perennially shit, but we'll always have fans ready to turn out and watch us.

Looks like we'll be selling out yet another away allocation.... almost a month away, but at around 12.30 today (after going on sale at 10am) we have sold over 800 of our allocation of 1100 for the trip to Chippenham. It only took me 2 hours and approx 400 calls to get through... junior is still on the phone.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that us more isolated clubs (Pools, Darlo, Carlisle, Exeter, Plymouth and Torquay) have amongst the largest percentage of home support travelling away. It's kind of a perverse thing that we have to travel further than other clubs so more of us make the effort.

And it's usually irrespective of how shite we are. The only season I went to every away game was 95-96 when we only won one away all season (at Darlo but we always seemed to win at Feethams).
