Looked a lot more from our end, unless yer were all spread out.
I hope it wasn't as I don't like seeing people from my hometown suffer in such a way. The fewer the better.

Your ignorance could be corrected with a simple telephone call to the FA. :db:
I rang up the FA and they emailed me this:

Not the 1000 they were expecting. Shock horror.
2,150 home fans which is encouraging and for once we put in a sublime performance. Let's hope they come back in a fortnight for Guiseley.

THE MIGHTY SHAYMEN
There are moments in life when you wonder about your friends. On Saturday when I offered to pick up a friend on the way to The Shay, he said, "do you think we should get there early, I've got a feeling Fylde are going to bring a lot of supporters". Now, he's not been well recently and i know he has a lot on his plate at the minute but this was the first time I thought early-onset senility was a possibility. It took a few moments of silence to process the question and formulate a reasonable response. "ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?????" DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT THIS SHOWER??? NO! WE'RE NOT GETTING THERE EARLY! DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY THEY TOOK TO WEMBLEY FOR THE BIGGEST GAME IN THEIR HISTORY? HUH? DO YA? DO YA?"

He admitted he did not, and promised to do some research before asking such a stupid question in future.

Friends, huh guys? :ds:

I have had a bit of a lurk on here for a while now but never really had any desire to share my thoughts. But I have to congratulate simonfromsurrey (and of course the forum nobhead) on such a well informed post. Wipe out the AFC Fylde Community Foundation, wipe out the Fylde Sports and Education Centre. Bollocks to the kids and the pensioners.

Who the feck does this bloke think he is. Making a few quid and putting it back into the local community, stick it in the Cayman Islands like the rest of the multi millionaires you selfish twat.

I don't really know Dave, just nodding terms really. I have been in his company a few times over a few pints but not for many years now. But those times were when I played for Kirkham and Wesham back in the 80s and he would very often be out in Kirkham on a Saturday night with the football lads. I don't think he ever played, either not very good or too busy making money. If I am honest he was, and no doubt still is, rather too brash for my liking, but he has a very strong belief that getting kids involved in sport is the best way to keep them on the straight and narrow.

Of course the football side of things is arguably the most important and I suspect the 2022 thing massages his rather large ego but there is far more to the AFC Fylde story. It will probably ultimately end in tears but it will be a great shame if that includes all the community stuff.

Fair play, good point. wasn't a fan of the backslapping Fylde see it, buy it approach a few years back and the backslapping on crowds when many saw it as a oyston fuelled but......he's local, cares about the area, knows the area, knows the people....as much as I see the downsides of the longer term solo beneficiary plug pulling impact, just look at Harrogate, at least he did it for the afore mentioned reasons.

He might have wholly misguided, follow the Eton pipe Piper political idiocy but he's there for the club. Can't say that about our owner and it shows at Harrogate. "Daddy can we play football manager*..."
*multi Millionaire house builders edition

Then again we could all be blessed with an Andy Holt.

Fylde is an example of why these vanity projects need wiping out

Possibly, particularly post Bury and Stuart Day, but does give the shorter sighted and less inclined to worry about the longer term of their club, some good times away from the shite of austerity; that's a thing people experience outside of Surrey btw.

The irony of the self registered mascot of the forum liking your post. BJ2self Only likes unrealistic, bankrolled funding when it comes by way of council tax payers and small business creditors paid jack shit in the pound so as to form a sparkly new FC no history club.

Btw BJ2SELF, have you lot had any whip rounds to pay off your local community of small businesses left out of pocket ?:ds:
