Yes, it's a weird one. It dates from before I moved to York, but as I understand it (could be nonsense, and I would guess there's a bit more to it even if correct) a female York fan ended up getting badly injured (broken leg) by some Bury thugs a good few years ago, and there's certainly always been a bit of an edge to games between the two sides. The one time I was genuinely worried about my safety following York was the first time I went to Bury.

Of course, whatever incident started it all off happened before the wannabe casuals getting involved were even born. Massively tinpot, but we won't be playing each other anytime soon so one less to worry about.

Good following of Darlington fans at their game over at Leamington on Saturday. Cracking match too!

2327 at Crabble, perhaps 30 from Guiseley?

Decent crowd that. Reduced prices?

1,366 I think at Fleet on Saturday, I would have said 20-30 from BW but a couple of our lot on our forum reckon 50-80. I highly doubt that!

Community day. Free tickets to primary school kid + a parent. 3rd this season, possibly another as well
just an average attendance increasing ploy really

Still decent though, imagine the parents would have spent plenty on food and drink, etc.

Think we only do one of them a season now, usually in March.

My new found morbid fascination with the depths of non league made me watch the whole thing. Great set of highlights, like you say good Darlo following, even if their winner took a lucky deflection.
Just checked that the Leamington keeper is only 29. He looks about 45.

3641. All spread out. Massive :bdick:
You're mistaking us for someone else, only the Tin Potters claim the "all spread out" excuse. We've never needed to. :bdick::bdick::bdick:

You've just reminded me of our Unibond North days when this was claimed every week by the pub teams we came up against. Finally, one fan resorted to a plea on their forum (forums themselves were few and far between) for "everyone going tomorrow to all meet up inside the ground". He seemed to be the only member of the forum, no-one replied to his plea and we never saw any away fans at all the next day. :fl:

Rumours that our Chester away tickets are going on sale early to help with their cash flow and we’re getting two stands. Is that around 2000?

2300 if minimal segregation I believe.

That’d be what, £32k for them?

Downside I can see to this is if Chester go bust and 2300 Tranmere fans left out of pocket for a game they can’t attend for a club that doesn’t exist.

York mob went looking for trouble in '93 play off semi final... found it, then cried foul. That's how it started. York don't have any rivals so decided to make Bury their cup final ever since.

Usual practice would be for you to have the south and west stands, and there'll be a buffer space at the ends next to the home fans.
I think the risk of not completing the season is minimal, the problem is mainly one of cash-flow.

Tranmere can give Chester some money for Alabi at the same time.

You broke him you bought him.

For a rearranged game on a Tuesday night in Gateshead ? It's not great but it's not terrible.

You only took 400 on a Saturday.

We took 242 for our midweek game there last year, out of a crowd of 723.

Quite possibly the case, I doubt the idiocy was all on one side.

York don't have any rivals so decided to make Bury their cup final ever since.

Seems a bit of an odd comment from someone following a league one side (at least for now) who has come here to slag off the away support of a club that plays in division 6.

Bury are more non league than most non league sides. Strange little club.

Your right, it's hard to muster any particular affection for them. Can honestly say I've never met a Bury fan in the acualite`, which is in itself odd given they reside just over the hills. :bdick:
