How do shot on target stats work? Everywhere has us down as not having one, but that O'Connor shot from the short corner was definitely going in until it took a slight deflection.

But it was on target until someone stopped it from being. Don't see how it's any different to a 'keeper tipping a shot wide.
Because it hasn't hit the target???? You could shoot from anywhere and it could be going on target, but unless it actually makes it then its off.But it was on target until someone stopped it from being. Don't see how it's any different to a 'keeper tipping a shot wide.
So any shot tipped round the post by the keeper is off target? I agree with Jacob, makes no sense.Because it hasn't hit the target???? You could shoot from anywhere and it could be going on target, but unless it actually makes it then its off.

Exactly. So how is a blocked shot any different? Still on target, just happens to be diverted off target in an earlier stage of its trajectory.A shot that is tipped round the corner would presumably count as a shot on target? Surely? Where would it go if the goalie didn't save it? Australia?
Have we scored yet?Tbh. I think it'd still be 0-0 now
