I don’t want to alarm Notts County fans but the previous 2 seasons I’ve had Hartlepool and Chesterfield to win the league.

It’d be quite something if you made it 3/3

Did you bet on those two? And Notts? Tbh quite a few posters on here had us to win the league.

Yeah had them both in my League winners accas Over the past 2 years. Only teams to let me down both years, quite spectacularly in fact.

That seals it then. As of next season, Notts County will be the 2nd oldest non-league club in the world.

I was amazed at how shit Notts were, other then a 10 minute spell when we tried to let them back in they were poor and offered virtually nothing. Their only attacker who looked half decent and put a shift in was Jon Stead who must be about 50 by now. Their no 11 was hilariously shit as was their left back.

We've played better this season and drawn, but still that was pretty good and we're in the top 7 which is unbelievable really given our start on paper and losing Doidge.

Was it Jones at left back ? He was diabolical against us last week, without doubt the worst pro footballer I have ever seen and I’ve seen a few at Newport over the years. Clearly he loves himself, best in show by a country mile but he just kicked the ball into touch at every opportunity. ‘‘Twas hilarious.

Yeah it was Jones. He rounded off his performance with a shocking tackle on Lloyd James to get sent off. Notts played better once he was off.

Yet Forest Green fans were predicting a defeat pre game lol. Don’t worry you aren’t alone this season.

If only there was some sort of recent historical evidence to give us Football folk a clue. Like past results (defeats) or number of goals conceded (averaging 3). If only......

“We will lose” (pre game)..... “worst team we’ve faced” (post game) . Standard

That’s because you were one of the pre-season favourites and you’ve spent a lot of money. Everyone is expecting for you turn it round at some point. Pretty similar to chesterfield last season. Not sure at what point people gave up on them turning things round?

Dont know what constitutes a turnaround at nutts ,mid table safety or have they got higher hopes ,for me they are in a right old scrap this season ,not saying they will get relegated but forget promotion this season lads

Funny how every team thinks it will be them no matter how atrocious our results have been this season. Then as soon as they stroll to victory or snatch it in injury time, the tide completely turns. It’s as black and white as our home kit, and as consistent as our results. Standard.

Promotion? We are currently looking to concede under 3 goals in a game, small steps

How do you come to that conclusion ? After two games with the new manager sat in the stands watching?!

Hold on, you mean to tell me you lot only appointed Nolan before this season started? How very stupid of me

There are very often times when opposition fans have a better take on your own side than what you do.

This isn’t one of them.

That's alright pal. You're entitled to your own opinion just like I'm entitled to mine.

There are very often times when Vanni's trolling doesn't get any bites.

This isn't one of them.

LOL. The trollmeister himself!

If having a different opinion makes one a troll then most of us are trolls.

I'm talking about last year so don't get me wrong - boys, there's no shame in admitting you really weren't all that good, in fact you were only an upper mid table side overachieving due to having a good manager/motivator. A case in point were all those late goals you scored, surely this was only down to Nolan not happy with a draw and going all out for a win.

Then, of course, there were all those '50/50' (or in some cases '10/90') penalties that you lot were awarded. Helped your cause in no small way I would imagine.

10/90 penalties ??? What about all
those unfair red cards we benefited from vanni, don’t forget those chap. Combined they made all the difference from mid table to a play off side lol. In fact we didn’t suffer once from an officials decision until the playoff semi final.

The timing of your post is hilarious couldn’t you have waited a month, or at least till Harry has had a few games

Funny one, Jonah. When he arrived at the start of last summer no-one expected much and a bit of a mare on his debut at Cov (0-3) seemed to confirm the worst fears. But he went on to become one of the best left-backs in the division, highlight being his outstanding assist in the play off semi at the Ricoh.

However this season he’s been right off it, bar a couple of his trademark crosses, along with 3 or 4 others. Like he’s a different player. Hopefully Kellet, who has looked decent so far, will nail down the left back slot now.

We were all saying that ourselves for the entire season!

Nolan did a fantastic job of motivating and getting the best out of a limited side. It all started to go wrong when he started to try and phase in some more ‘footballers’ in January, and phase out workers like Hawkridge. Beyond leaving them to their own devices (which worked brilliantly when we had one out of eleven in Jorge Grant), he doesn’t seem to know what to do with players who aren’t limited and need more than organising into a basic shape and firing up every game.

I’d actually liken him to Shaun Derry, who you will know well, just with a bit more about him. He’ll have a good career as a firefighter coming into teams in crisis, but no more IMO.

Jones is a good player, there’s too many good players currently playing incredibly badly for it to be down to individuals rather than the coaching over the summer IMO.
