Christ, what a horrible game of football. Vale had the better chances having worked out our weakness to balls aimlessly lofted into our six yard box, but still. Really really bad.

Simply can't score, my slight hope is that County were hideous how on Earth did they get 7/9 recently.
Any decent team wins that 2-0 at a canter.
Two shocking teams

We can’t play against other bad teams, basically. With that midfield and our defence we can happily defend teams like Forest Green and Mansfield trying to pass through us and hit them on the break with Boldewijn, Gomis and CMS.

Against teams like Vale and Newport who put it in the box at every opportunity we are completely hopeless, have been all season.

We were utterly atrocious. Vale deserved the win , we deserve what's coming our way. We've failed to get a win in any of the big six pointers all season.
The boost of a new team in the window has been cancelled out by the miasma of fear that's settled over us.
Went for a drink with six fans after and we all think we're going down.

Early on it looked like our pace up top would cause Vale problems and Gomis in particular was finding some joy, but the lack of quality from us today was shocking. So many poor touches and stray/aimless balls. Having said all that I did half-think we might do a ‘Morecambe’ on Vale and snatch an undeserved win after we had weathered the 2nd half storm, especially when the keeper dropped one in the last minute. Alas, it wasn’t to be.

I don’t really know where we go from here. The only hope is our run in is still ‘kind’ (although as mentioned elsewhere we seem incapable of beating those around us) and we know from the Stags and FGR games there might be a performance in there somewhere.

As for Vale, I think you will be fine. Two out of us, Macc and Morecambe I reckon, with the former two overwhelming favourites to drop now.

Our future depends on if that was a one off effort wise or not. Apparently they’ve done a mini pre season as we looked far fitter than we had. Players who had been woeful in recent weeks (Clark, Hanant and Manny in particular) looked back to their pre Xmas levels when we are actually not too bad.

Wozza was outstanding today though, lord knows what went on with him and Aspin. Only critisim is I’d have liked Miller to come on and have a go at that back line with his terrier like approach.

Worrall mentioned in his interview Notts keeper and centre half appeared scared and it gave us a huge boost seeing that apparently? That said keeper made a couple of top draw saves!

We need to keep that intensity going forwards, if we do something will drop for us and we might just pull off the escape.

50-50 though

If you’d got a winner today that would have almost certainly knocked us out of catching you, we’ll do well to do so tho. I know a lot of your fans have been having doubts about Pope lately but thought he was really good today - to say there was Qs over his fitness he put himself about well. I did think you got a lot off the ref tho! Overall Vale were a lot better than I was expecting though, given the build-up from your fans.

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season, similar club to Notts in a lot of ways as referenced elsewhere, be a shame to see you NL.

You too; as I’ve said on the away thread.

6000 home fans, 1462 away fans... two shameful owners who have a lot to answer for.

That following from both clubs in the circumstances deserves better.

Think that’ll be Notts gone. Hopefully they can use it for good like we managed to rather than end up like Stockport or Wrexham.

Yes, I noticed it was the highest gate in the division by a fair bit, sadly it doesn’t equate to points.

I actually thought ours was a bit lower than it should have been, reckon the off-field issues this week might have put a few off.

Think that’s us done. Clearly the games against Lincoln FGR and Mansfield were blips. Vale deserved to win, it’s all very depressing.

Not the cinema for me but a similar approach. I’m going to my first ever non league game,in the capital. Might as well get used to it nice and early. Away win

Deserved and slightly surprising 2-0 home win for Dulwich. Overall an average game with limited clear chances but did witness a great first goal. Deep curled cross from tricky winger volleyed in on the far side by the left full back.

2779 in attendance hard to estimate the all
Important number of Dartford and there.

Hello Peter

The Great Gatsby? Here’s hoping. Safe pair of hands is what’s needed more than anything else right now.
