You can look at this from different angles. It’s not a case of saying Askey out, it’s just crossing the mind of vale fans of whether he’s the right man for the job. I wouldn’t start kicking off if he didn’t get sacked because we are still in contention. Everyone has different views and you can look at the league table in different ways. Yes, on the face of it were 8th and a win away from being close to automatics but at the start of the season if I said to you look at our fixture list for the first 12 games and we’re going to pick up 9 POINTS against Exeter, Salford and Cheltenham how many do you think we will have! Not a single person would say 19. 10 points from the other 9 fixtures is just not good enough. I know a lot of you will be like that’s just Vale though, we beat the big sides and lose the strugglers but if we want to get promoted you have to win your easy games! In my opinion I think it’s criminal that we aren’t in the top 3 after picking up 9 points against arguably the 3 strongest sides in the division.

no i was giving my opinion.....just the same as si Robin....the player dived in front of the ball ...you can see the angle he came from, if you played the game you would know that......just saying
What i am saying in lay mans terms he went head first and not feet first

Go on, enlighten us - to what level did you "play the game"?

If, could, should have. We all have our hard luck stories. For what its worth from a outsider i think Vale are doing well.
Tranmere and Scunthorpe should have got you six points but got you did not have the rub of the green, maybe in two games down the line it will turn. Sack Askey who could you attract??
The three you say are the best 3 in the league is frankly laughable.....Newport FGR and Cambridge say otherwise.

Also, we are talking about the Port Vale penalty not given, right? The one where the defender leads with his left foot but the ball hits his arm instead?

Fucking "head first".

Honestly, I don't use the ignore function, but I've given up taking anything he says seriously since his second or third post.

It's like reading something my 3 year old twins would write, only I get more bloody sense out of them and they're not as deluded. And these are boys expecting a big fat man in a suit to come down the chimney we don't have on the 24th December to leave them presents under the tree.

So my first two posts made sense.....

We robbed ourselves to be honest, regardless of referee decisions we had nearly 70% of the ball, almost all of it in their half, they’d lost 9 before last week so you can’t really have any excuses.

Tranmere fans were saying how they felt they battered us because they had 60% of the ball and created virtually nothing 11 v 11 and I made the point that possession is irrelevant if you do nothing with it. Last night we were Tranmere against our 11. Loads of the ball, some good football at times but the final ball was poor and the finish when we did get chances even worse. Cullen had a tap in and it rolled over his foot, he took one of Burgess who was better placed etc.

With 11 men we’ve had more of the ball in every single defeat we’ve had this season. Our best results we’ve had less in most cases. Until we adapt we are rattling just outside the play offs or mid table.

Loft should of been off first half, a couple of elbows before a yellow but even then we still would be playing now huffing and puffing so it’s about us to make our own game.

Teams are showing us huge respect, I’ve not seen a team so negative and deep as Scunthorpe and Morecambe this season, even under the Adams promotion season when we were hammering teams week in week out at times but we have to find a way. Those are the games screaming Tom Pope. Yet we’ve been playing him against footballing sides and drop him and shove Cullen on who’s the smallest of the 4!

Agree with what you say...Our best three results have come when we had the minority of possession
Wins against Harrowgate and Salford, and a draw against Cambridge

If you read what I said, I’m not saying sack the manager. There’s a difference between saying sack your manager and questioning if he’s the man for the job. I don’t think there’s anyone out there at the minute, I just don’t think it’s wrong to be doubtful when you clearly see a recurring issue. I also said arguably the best sides in the league, I’m not saying they indefinitely are. You can easily make a case for them 3 clubs. You’re a bit narrow minded if you’re saying Newport and Cambridge just because they’re 1st and 2nd now.. Realistically you’d expect Cheltenham and Exeter to be where they are now, if cambridge and Newport slipped up it wouldn’t be as much of a surprise

your just having a run of bad luck and bad referee calls go against you.....Say you won both those games who would ask about the managers job.
I named those three for the reason you said......league standings.
The best team in the league is Bolton, but the table says otherwise so i never named them

The reality is though we didn’t win them games, we lost them for the same reason we lost two other games this season. Hence why people are thinking this. You could say what you’re saying about any manager.. if Tranmeres manager had won games he wouldn’t have been sacked, if Alexander had won games at Salford he wouldn’t have been sacked.. You can’t just judge by the league table, does that mean Southampton, Everton and villa are the best teams in the premier league because they’re in the top 7 of the prem?

Tranmere are genuinely bad. Salford owners are just egomaniacs
Sack Askey bring in whoever....He will have to move players on if he is to bring new players in, they will need time to bed in......Port Vale will finish bottom half if they do that.
Theres not a lot wrong with your team at the moment
If your posts were written on paper you would be followed by your own personal binwagon permanently for the amount of rubbish you produce daily

Masi is 52 according to his profile.

Staggering. I would have guessed about 15 maximum.

As for him playing at NW counties level? No fucking chance, not the way he talks. Utter bull shit. He displays all the signs of someone not telling the truth.

Infuriating defeat again, looking back on the last 3 proper games I don't really understand how we've conspired to lose all 3!

Yes it was a brilliant goal, yes they barely crossed the halfway line and yes they should have gone 0-2 up on the counter that hit the post. The main thing for Scunthorpe was they gave us a lesson in defensive structure. Had we been half as good at defending against Tranmere we'd have won that game.

I get why people are turning on Askey. This season has not been convincing really although it felt like we'd found our feet when we won the 3 games in 7 days but it feels like we're right back to square one now. I'm certainly nowhere near asking for him to be sacked but the cracks are there and he has to address them.

We've got no real plan to win games. We go out with our starting 11 which is exactly the same but for the striker but even then, playing Pope or Cullen, it seems like our only real chance of scoring is either getting a penalty or from a cross.

Anyone but Pope as a striker is just not in the game, barely touches the ball unless its out wide or really deep. Again I'm not one of the vale simples who just demand 4-4-2 but maybe we need to try and work on something with 2 strikers, especially at home, instead of persisting with this rubbish. Trouble is we have looked even worse when we tried that v Carlisle.

As for the penalty shout and the 'goal' - agree with everyone else. It's a penalty in the premier league but not in old money. I don't want those to be given really because it spoils the game, but then we are playing 2 different sets of rules to the prem currently.
And my instinct says the ball probably crossed the line before the foul was given on the keeper, but you really can't be sure and I'm biased as fuck.
